this markgemma crash out is so funny. “the first woman he sees” girl what about ms casey… you know… his wife.,, who he met on the severed floor before helly… and felt no attraction to… hmm
#severance#this is embarrassing#not only he felt nothing for ms casey even though he knew her for years before he met helly#helly whom he felt sparks with from the moment he met#mark scout also connects with helena as soon as he met her#he has met hundreds of women in his life he has had options he has even loved before#and still the spark with helena was instantaneous#it is a double loss in one tweet

HOMEM COM H / LATIN BLOOD — THE BALLAD OF NEY MATOGROSSO (2025) – dir. Esmir Filho Ney Matogrosso is a legendary Brazilian artist known for his bold blend of music, dance, and theatrical performance. Rising to fame in the 1970s, he challenged gender norms and censorship during Brazil’s military dictatorship through his androgynous image and provocative art. Closely linked to the Tropicália movement, his work became a symbol of resistance and freedom. Ney Matogrosso has always refused to be confined by labels, maintaining relationships throughout his life with both men and women. In the 1980s, he witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of the AIDS crisis, personally caring for friends and partners who succumbed to the disease, including fellow singer Cazuza and the Dr. Marco de Maria, who was his partner for thirteen years. Now (2025), at 83, he continues to perform, solidifying his legacy as an icon of queer culture, gender expression, and artistic freedom in Latin America.
HAPPY PRIDE! 🌈

Still on the topic of NBP Severance panel but I was slightly confused by Patricia’s words on Mark and Helly not knowing what a real and domestic relationship is like. She mentioned it as if it was something that made them less likely to persevere together.
When in reality Mark and Helly are so aware of what experiences they lack that the scene before their first kiss is them imagining a domestic scenario where they are married sharing everyday struggles with one another.
Mark and Helly know they don’t have a life beyond work, it doesn’t mean they don’t want or that they wouldn’t be able to face the challenges of a domestic life together if they were to encounter them. The point is… they are not allowed to have it. That life belongs to outies, not innies. That is the whole tragedy.
Love, connection, domesticity and intimacy are part of what makes us humans. Nobody can survive if everything they have is work. Choosing each other is the ultimate act of rebellion. It says “Innies are human too and I am allowed to live a life as fully and fulfilling as any outie does”.

I don’t want to be mean but the journalist mediating the panel for Severance for NBP didn’t understand the show at all.
#severance#this is not about shipping btw#not understanding that the main point of the show was mark s making a choice for himself and gaining autonomy#instead of following what his outie wanted him to do is a big miss of the entire point of the show#there is no confusion about the choice he made there is nothing difficult about it#he had to choose between his life and his existence (and the woman he loves!) over disappearing#what other choice did he really have but to choose what was best for himself?

every so often the discourse comes around again that basically boils down to “is it feminist for a woman to want men to be attracted to her” and it’s like. no, it’s not. it’s also not anti feminist. it’s not relevant. it’s nothing. a woman wanting to have sex with men has nothing to do with feminism. being a lesbian or celibate is not “more feminist” than being a straight woman. the point was always “women should not have to dress in a way that is attractive to men solely in order to be acknowledged by them at all” not “women should never dress in a way that is attractive to men for any reason.” sometimes a woman wants men to want to have sex with her. that’s not anti feminist. that’s average. it’s also not feminist just because it’s her choice to do it. it is not related. feminism is about women’s human rights. that doesn’t mean it’s a feminist act every time a woman makes a choice.

I got so invested in hellyna’s character that the fact that there are people out there that actively hate her makes me sad :((
like..the concept of the passionate, indomitable spirit of a revolutionary burning deep inside the repressed lonely daughter of a cult..sprinting free the moment she’s free of the memories of the grooming she experienced..ending up being someone that cares deeply for others, capable of loving and being loved so intensely..how could one not love this?? You guys don’t know what you are missing fr

Does anyone else ever think about Ms. Casey being put in charge of watching Helly R. after her suicide attempt and the possibility of Gemma's role as Helena's watcher once they are all outside?
We know Helena's life is overly controlled and watched by many people, including the time she is at the MDR as Helly, and the extend on the outside world seems just as opressing.
Ms. Casey says the hours spent watching Helly were some of the best of her life. Of course, there is a compenent to her, for once, being outside her cubicle and interacting with multiple people, but I wonder if maybe the idea of her being responsible for watching over someone is simply interesting to her.
And Lumon getting Gemma to watch over Helena has great potential as a plot.
#severance#long ramble#this probably makes no sense#and it would never be canon#but it could make a good fanfiction plot lbh

mark s you poor man. half of the fandom hates you for literally wanting to live, and not end your life for two strangers. one of which is your outie who doesn’t even see you as a full person. you don’t even owe him anything, yet you still helped his wife escape because you are a good person and you knew it was the right thing to do. then all you wanted was to be with the woman YOU love for as long as you could. don’t even worry about it i will be defending you like there’s no tomorrow
