hey all —

I know I haven’t been very active. I am so sorry. Here’s the general gist of what’s going on.

On March 31st I got into a screaming match with my father about where my partner & I currently live. It’s a little condo in the big city where my partner grew up & I went to school. My father basically told me I had to move home to my small town (where there is no jobs in my career field) for the foreseeable future because he cannot financially support the living costs of the condo (and he knows that I can’t afford them alone). he didn’t give me very long to move out, so my partner & I were not prepared to do so AT ALL.

he didn’t give me any other options.

But I refuse to move home. I can’t. I won’t.

So we pulled enough together to get a new little pocket apartment in the historic district of the city we currently live in. We won’t have much furniture for awhile, but that’s alright! We move in on Friday and I’m hoping I’ll be more active again after that.

All this being said, I’m so grateful for the help my parents have given me over the years, but that does not negate the shit that my dad put me through when I was younger. We have stuff we probably will never work out because he’s the type of guy that doesn’t change. I love my parents, but all of this didn’t need to be as stressful as it has been. It didn’t need to be a screaming match— my crying only gets worse the more you yell & I know I’ve never yelled back before, I’m sorry for not controlling myself better.

My father also doesn’t know that my “roommate” is actually my fiancée because he doesn’t support lgbtq rights. I can’t leave my partner here and move back home, that would never be an option.

I’m tired and broke and feel like there’s not a creative bone left in my body. There’s a lot more details and issues in this situation that make it even more fucking complicated, but none of it matters right now.

my point is — thank you to everyone who has ever supported my work. I hope to bring you more from my new home in the coming months. I love you.
