Redesigning Pokémon Part 1 - Luvdisc!

Someone suggested to me an interesting Pokemon art challenge. Basically, the idea was to take a Pokemon with an "Ugly" "Boring" or overall "Underwhelming" look, and give them redesign! While I don't think there is such thing as a "bad" Pokemon, I do think there exists some designs that need some improvement. So just in time for February, I started with Luvdisc! I love Luvdisc, but I can't lie, its design is a little lackluster. I really like how my redesign turned out, so I ended up getting a little carried away and making a whole evolution line for it!

Random Pokemon from Memory Part 2

And today's victim of random pokemon drawn from memory is...

Venipede!

This one was so much harder than i thought it would be. I got some of the basic design ideas like the rounded back and green segments, but other than that it's not quite there. What gave me the most trouble were the eyes! I really just couldn't remember what they looked like! Also, I'm shocked on how close I got to the color scheme.

And yes, I made a shiny version too!

I thought I was fairly familiar with Venipede, since I was so worried I would phase on it during my longest ever shiny hunt for Sewaddle in W2. I remembered the colors being more faded than the original, but I was actually pretty far off with this one.

Random Pokemon from Memory Part 1

A few days ago, I decided to challenge myself by drawing some pokemon from memory!

First up is...

Bruxish!

Yeah this one was super hard right off the bat. I had the right idea about some key features, like the mouth, sharp teeth, dongly thing on the head and wavy fins. Despite that, most of the shapes are all wrong! I also think I nailed the colors pretty close, and the attitude is spot on!

But wait, there's more!

I drew what I thought the shiny looked like too! I'm a shiny hunter, so I'm pretty good at remembering the alternate colors pretty well. I just had trouble putting them in the right spots!
