Hot take: Stop mixing your roots

I think mixing Ancient Greek and Latin roots is poor form; they are not meant to combine with each other and have always seemed clunky to me.

For example, the word "aromantic", a mixing of Greek "a-" and Latin "Romantic", just feels like you’re sticking two words together; using isoglossal roots would make it feel much more fluent; thus, I propose either irromantic or aphilic as replacements.

The natural phonological mixing of these ambilingual roots best represented by irromantic in this example shows exactly what we are looking for in terms of pronunciation and written appearance. Although I’m personally biased towards Latin, preferring we use only Latin roots, I suppose I could settle in places where Greek must be used.

hyper-consumerism -> super/ultra-consumerism

neoclassical -> noviclassical

autocombustible-> autopyritic

parasocial -> juxtasocial/parademotic

The Southerner's dilemma

As someone who has lived somewhere where the manufacture of sweet tea is nearly a science and art, nothing grinds my gears worse than when I go to eat somewhere up north and I am told that they only have unsweetened tea, but they can put sugar in it.

That is not how solubility works! You're just an adding a crunchy texture to my bitter tea! So in short, please do not patronize me with your bitter sand water and just say you do not have sweet tea.

Lamentations of the soul

I sorely miss the days when someone could flashback while rippling like the water in a pond stirred to life by a stone skipping across its surface. Nowadays, people are always doing cutaway flashbacks to save time. I know life is much busier than it once was, but it's important to take the time to enjoy the subtle beauties life has to offer, so yes, ripple when you flashback, look at the audience in dismay when a friend says something absurd, take time to float mid air when you walk off of a cliff before you fall; enjoy the comedic clichés while you can.
