Any fanfiction that can be accessed without a password on Ao3 is already available in this app. Yours, mine, every fan creator's. Whether this is illegal I do not know, but it is certainly unethical and needs to be fought. Ao3 is a site of unparalleled integrity and shows the utmost respect to creators, so this content grab is an even bigger slap in the face for that reason.

Hi, I have a couple works on that Fanfic pocket app as well. I’ve never had to ask something to be taken down, do you have advice on how to go about it or could you send me somewhere that tells me how? I don’t mean to encroach on your time, I’m just very unfamiliar with this kind of debacle. Thank you

Hey! No problem! Fanfic pocket is a little harder to deal with than some of the other apps, cause they technically haven’t uploaded the fic, they’re just like… an alternate skin viewing thing that happens to make money by looking specifically at Ao3. Which is still not okay, it’s a skeevy as fuck work around.

The way I am dealing with that site is to file a complaint via the links provided:

The android app is a mother fucker to try and use to report and I’m still battling that out. But with ioS you very simply follow the report link, which is here https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/appstorenotices/#?lang=en

You fill in the form as prompted, link to the app when prompted, and then list your issue with the app, namely that it is displaying content you have created that you do not consent to having viewed for profit.

Like I said, the app isn’t technically uploading the fic, so I’m not sure we’ll be able to get them through DCMA’s, but it’s worth a shot. And if they don’t respond to the complaints, I’ll be taking it up with Apple itself. 

The android process should in theory be similar, but I’ll let you know if I ever get the report function to work X_x
