But, how do you expect me to choose my favourite FK kisses?? Do you know how challenging this asked was? And I can’t possibly do an analysis of all their kisses - Our Skyy 2 alone had more than 20 kisses? (I think)… I will have to write a thesis if I want to analyse every single kisses. I was this close 🤏 to binge watch all their series but alas…I have bills to pay and a fur-baby to feed.

So….instead, I think back to their kisses that sticks in my mind ? - it must make me feel something emotionally when I watched them (and that’s difficult cause FK is so damn good with their intimacy and NC scenes I had to think hard to narrow down my choices)

Without further ado, my top 5 list (list is only current as of The Heart Killers EP9):

No 5: Only Friends EP 2 smoky kiss plus Sand kissing Ray’s left hip tattoo

- Do I like people who smoke? No. But this was cinematic anyway. It was artistic (to me) and you could feel the sexual tension screaming from miles away. And when they gave in to their attraction, the chemistry was off the chart and Sand worshipping Ray’s tattoo was just pure magic 🪄

No 4: Only Friends EP 9 caravan scene (especially the soft, soft kiss Ray bestowed on Sand’s cheek after they have done their tango in bed 🤸)

- The softness of the whole scene was beautiful to watch. There was something pure and personal as we watch these 2 finally coming to terms about their feelings for each other.

No 3: Our Skyy 2 x The Eclipse bridge scene

-The whole scene had me giggling and kicking my legs in excitement. The boys kissing with the sun setting behind them was just.....😍😍😍

-And people talking about tongue involvement? - I am sure there were some tongue action here (also, tell me anon, why are people so invested in tongue-action? I mean i don't mind them but I am not going to fuss if FK's characters don't do them each time!)

No 2: The Eclipse Finale with Akk bestowing the soft pecks/kisses on Aye’s face

- I will always have a soft spot for my babies. As much as I adore all of FirstKhaotung characters, AkkAye have a special place in my heart. And because I can, I’m putting the whole video clip of the scene rather than gifs or screenshots 🥰

- There is something special about this scene where Akk was finally the one that made the first move; initiating the hug followed by the soft kisses. The awe and disbelief in Aye’s eyes before it shifted to soft delight and slight mischievous as he then reciprocate Akk’s gesture. I think we often forget that Aye is just as young and vulnerable like Akk. And to see Akk finally reaching out to Aye just made my heart melt 🫠

No 1: The Heart Killers EP 8 swing scene

-I love the whole damn thing - from the nuzzling to Kant sniffing Bison’s hair like he wants to imprint him to his soul to Kant gently biting Bison’s nose before they continued their heady make out session.

- This whole thing was just peak intimacy 👌. Nobody does it better than them. Their feelings laid bare, Kant is now free to be as disgustingly affectionate and loving like he always wanted to be. It’s just so so good. Also, let’s be honest, we know KantBison would continue to make out for hours on that swing.

I just want to talk about how incredible the funeral skit is in the middle of the video, not just for being such a funny piece of satire but also for how it speaks to the commentary about Taylor's life AND maybe even her own rejection of it.

I know people have talked about the video as a whole and how it’s laying Taylor’s demons and struggles and insecurities bare in such a brutally honest way. And the “daughter-in-law kills me for the money” bit was so interesting, like a nod to thinking that she has this grand, over the top life and in the end she’s reduced to another body disposed of at the hands of greed.

But the daughter-in-law in the video makes me pause because when you think about it, "Kimber" kind of embodies all the things Taylor is satirizing in the video (and song), and all the things she’s been accused of and/or feels insecure about. The fake emotion and tears in front of the phone camera (your pain is manipulative). The unfathomable wealth and hoarding it for access and notoriety rather than philanthropy (greedy capitalist exploiting fans and ruining *insert thing here*). The image-obsessed princess belying a conniving schemer who will take anyone down (the ice queen crushing her competition). A woman being accused of taking down another woman (not a girl’s girl). Perpetually planting Easter eggs to convey REAL meaning (her life is a game devoid of true experience). Which, of course, I'm sure was by design.

It also feels like an example of what she later writes about in Clara Bow. Video-Taylor, particularly in the skit, is reduced to an idea, an avatar of everything people project onto her. Her imaginary daughter-in-law perpetuates this, using Taylor’s death as clout for whatever her scheme is. (Apparently, the beach house is lit.) She doesn't care about Taylor the Person, she cares about Taylor the Celebrity, Taylor the Billionaire, Taylor the Idea, Taylor the Billboard. Dead!Taylor's final wish is to turn the house into a cat sanctuary, and Kimber loses her shit because it doesn't benefit her. It's a joke, obviously, but it's also an example of her very own imaginary family seeing her as a caricature. She's there to bankroll their lifestyles and vanity projects, but they seem to have little regard for her own wishes. She's cast aside and forgotten as soon as she is no longer useful to them. (To the point where her own family member may have even offed her in the ultimate act of taking advantage of her. They've got edge, she never did.)

It’s fascinating how Video-Taylor is an interloper in all this, peeking through the casket, an audience member in her own life. She’s watching the way others see her, even if these others are supposed to be family and of all people should recognize her humanity and not her celebrity. One of her own children is even recording this private moment to mine for content in the media and building a (flop?) empire of his own off her back. It's striking to me, particularly after the bts clip where she explains Anti-Hero where she says that she struggles with not feeling like a person sometimes and I think there's an easy connection to make between that kind of dissociation and her audience-member view of her life in the skit. She watches on in horror as her own family devolves into total anarchy, fighting over money and fame and selfishness, wreaking havoc and causing pandemonium in their wake, as though she were the root of all this chaos. To quote another Midnights song, that's a real fucking legacy to leave-- but is it actually the one she's leaving?

It’s also interesting to me that the skit cuts immediately to Taylor then sitting dejectedly on the roof of the house, lonely and frustrated and depressed at once again being on the periphery of life, when all of a sudden Party!Taylor (Evil!Taylor? PopStar!Taylor?) pops up. It’s like watching someone struggle with different sides of herself in real time: the “normal” girl who’s unhappy and alone, and the “fun” girl who wants to sparkle in her hot pants and party the night away. Is it that Sad!Taylor is sitting there, fathoming what her life is going to be like if she continues to follow the path she’s on, when Party!Taylor shows up to throw a wrench in those plans and pull her out in spite of herself? And then of course Giant!Taylor rocks up at the end, the monster on the hill who isn’t all that scary after all even if she takes up so much space. Ultimately, she just wants a friend, too.

(ETA: I realize in the context of the video, Party!Taylor may also be IntrusiveThoughts!Taylor, given the previous scenes with “everyone will betray you” and the scale and the binge drinking etc. Anyway I know it’s layered.)

It ends on an, if not happy or hopeful, then at least content note? Because Sad!Taylor and Party!Taylor aren't scared of Giant!Taylor. They're happy to see her! They invite her over for their rooftop hang! They all get each other and share their vices! It's like she's saying: these are all of me and I am them, and they're all what makes me me.

There's a lot to be said about the symbolism of the video at large and specifically the skit, and though this maybe isn't even all that fair, with the benefit of hindsight, it's such a fascinating look into where her mind might have been at the time. Why does she imagine her kids as vapid and shallow and money- and image-obsessed who don't particularly seem to care for her? Why does she imagine her actions being the ones to tear her family apart, as awful as its members are? Why does she imagine she's going to be viewed as spiteful? (And finally: it is curious to me that there's no husband/father in this skit. I know why-- it was a song about her and her career and she probably didn't want to wade into that discourse or invite discussion about her partner, real or imagined-- but it is interesting how everything in the video is Mom Mom Mom. Even if Dad is already dearly or long-since departed, he doesn't seem to be much of a factor in any of this.)

The answer to much of this I suppose is that in the end, this is all fictional, in that it's her imagination (whether from an actual nightmare or a scenario she creates in her writing), and as she says in the BTS clip, she feels that as a person she needs to come to terms with all the things she doesn't like about herself to be able to exist in the world, and these were the things she might have feared about herself. It's incredibly sad that these are even passing thoughts, though on the flip side it's very brave of her to not only voice them, but turn them into art that is supremely entertaining. And in the end, at least for Video-Taylor, she's able to reconcile all of this a little bit as part of, but not all of her. Because she's not condoning the vipers in her own family; the fact that she leaves them out of the will can be seen in a way as a rebuke of their selfishness (and the perception of her own). She leaves the scene when they cause a riot because she's sick of this shit. In the end, she just wants to be a person.

Something that he really, really meant to cuddle her for a long time.

The King bring his tongue out to lick her fur, nipping it tenderly. She squirmed a bit, almost feared if he squished the moth too much, but he was a gentle King.

"Feeling better?" Godzilla asked, earning a nod to Mothra.

Adjusting one more time of their position, the moth finally fall asleep.

(Includes my thoughts about the story itself, the game, the design, the changes everbyte promised us, the Ai art thing, the episodes pass, some words to the character and of course about the Duskwood side story. Oh, and it's long)

So... Where do I start here?

It was definitely an interesting episode and damn, very, very long, which is mostly a positive thing. It was definitely longer than Duskwood episodes were. Or maybe it just felt like it.

For me, personally, this episode was definitely much more bearable than episode 1 was. It was more exciting, more happenings, especially more video material which I love and is necessary to make the game thrilling and exciting and to add the adrenaline to it. Watching it and not knowing what is going to happen etc. And for people who played Duskwood, we all have calling traumas, I believe.

However, I have to say, I bought the episode pass so I had all the contents free so just watch and didn't have to pay with gems. So I believe, which I still don't like, people who can't buy the pass because they can't afford or similar, they still have the same problems with running out of gems and all that. Which is sad. But my problem with the 'premium'/ episodes pass is, that you have to pay for every single episode the amount of money. Which is unfair and let's be honest, just manipulation. At least the way they did it. 'You can only buy it here' and '50% off'. Like, come on. 50% off? Really?

Don't get me wrong, I definitely understand that Everbyte needs to earn money. And I also understand that they need to earn more money now. Everything is more expensive, all the costs that come with making a game, the actors, getting locations and all that. I do understand. And I have to say, it was 5€ for me, which is, in my position, every couple of months not too bad. But many people aren't that lucky. They can't afford it and it doesn't change the fact that the gems system is kinda... ouch.

However, I believe getting the episode pass saved me from many problems during the game so my experience was probably better than the once of others.

Let's get more into the episode itself. I think the story line is interesting and has a lot of potential. And it can be great, however, I have to honestly say, I'm missing something. I'm missing something that keeps me hooked and makes me want to keep playing. Sadly, for me, there is a big difference. When I played Duskwood I was always like "Oh man, I hope the episode doesn't end. Please don't end, please, I need more. More information, more chats" etc. etc. etc... But while playing the Moonvale episode I was just like "How much longer? How much more is left? Is it over soon?" I liked the story. And luckily, in between there were moments in between that gave a new push of excitement. But around that? I was more like... Hm... That's damn much episode but it didn't kept me hooked. I wasn't like "I have to keep playing!"

I have to say, I can't deny that Jake's character was a big part, yes, maybe even the biggest part why I loved the Duskwood episodes so that. And of course it's a mystery game, not a romance game. But it's also the story itself. It's good, but it's more of a 'yeah I keep playing because maybe the next episode will be better'. You know what I mean? I'm just missing something that makes me feel like "I have to know what happens next! I have to know more. More story, more interactions with the characters!" and not just "Yeah, it's good, I keep playing"

And I'm also still missing the depth of the character's. Like we got more about Charlie, and in my opinion, he's the most interesting character in Moonvale. Violet is... silent. Eric is... not too bad but also somehow boring, for me. And Ash... I don't like her. Really not. She's so bitchy and always so... haughty, in my eyes.

And for me, I also think the episodes are too dry. Too much talking about things that aren't really that exciting, of course it's only the second episode, but still. And I also really don't like how slow the damn chats are. Of course, I think it's a way to make the episodes longer, which is a way to go, but in my eyes not a really good way. I would kill to make those chest faster. I think there should be an option to set the pace like it was in Duskwood. Simply because for people who think it's too slow and dry, like me, it makes me lose interest and it's more like a "Yeah, whatever, let's finish this".

I think a great addition to the game was definitely the 'Story' part, where we had to post the story. And as we all have seen, there was also a Duskwood picture, so I can very well imagine that in the future, that's might be the way how we are going to reach the others, by posting a story.

Speaking of Duskwood, let's go in with the side story. Which was, of course, also not too much yet, but it gave us a great inside of what is going on and it's very interesting what is happening. Like, they're shutting the whole town down. No messages in or out, no signal and now all of them are brought away by, obviously, the FBI probably. And of course all that is happening because of Jake. Shutting the town down etc. Which is absolutely exciting and the biggest reason why I keep playing Moonvale. I think it's very interesting how NYMOS was brought in and I think it's a believable way why the dw characters can't reach us. And I also loved how Everbyte included that the characters are speaking to us. Like Dan, Thomas, using our name and reaching out to us and not just talking with the group like they are still waiting and hoping for us. And at the end also Cleos video and that she spoke about Jake and all that... It's just a big relief to see them back and all that. And I think in the future it will definitely bring us a great experience.

Back to Moonvale: I also though some chats did not make much sense to me. Like, some theories and stuff, I think they forgot a bit about the end call with Adam in episode one and that he was alive there and all that. Even if he didn't talk etc. I don't know, I think some chat path weren't that logical. But I love how they kept using the right time line. Like 'last night', 'now it's morning', that's often a big problem xD

And some more positive about the game design now. I think the way the mini games are designed isn't too bad. It's still cute and has more of candy crush but it doesn't bother me that bad anymore like it did at the beginning. I'm glad they changed the backgrounds and the messanger chat layout. It's more realistic again and also the sounds are more realistic. The theme music is more realistic and I really like that and I'm happy everbyte went that way now.

I'm also glad we got a bit more profiles of the character's. Like the picture and videos. It makes the whole thing more real.

Sure, we still have some Ai in the game and I still don't support that. But I'm glad at least Charlie and Violet both have a real picture now and not just AI generated pictures. It would be best to completely remove Ai, we talk more than enough about why. But I can go with it, for now, as long as it doesn't come back like in episode one. (Of course I don't protect Ai art here now, and as I said, I would prefer it it were more real like on Duskwood. With stock photos and stuff. But fact is, AI art is indeed a part of this world now, if we want or not. And even if it's not good, there is also not much to do against it. Which doesn't mean I like it)

I'm sad we didn't get the option to chose out own profile picture and background etc. To really customize our profile and the game experience. And it's still only Ai art, which is really disappointing for me. Especially also because you still have to be lucky when you pay gems for more wallpapers and so. Why not letting us just buy what we want as profile picture. It's still a way to make us buy more gems if necessary which is sad. And like, how am I supposed to customize my profile to make it more *realistic*, when I only have background and wallpaper that aren't even close to what I personally like? It just makes it less real, in my eyes, and that's very sad.

And I also think it's a bit annoying that we still haven't Charlies and Violets contact with names just because we don't have them in personal Chats yet. I would very much prefer it they would see the names instead of the numbers.

Let's talk about the mini games for a second. First of all, too much. Really too much. Why not staying with only three per break? I mean, that more than enough. But sometimes 4? And then having only a short chat and having to play again... It's too much in my eyes, really. I found them much more bearable this time, however. Still not that easy but better than in episode one. Those killed me. Way too much and too hard. It just added onto the not so great play experience. This was better here, in my eyes, but still a bit too much in my eyes. Keep it calm, don't make us play so many, we lose hearts, gems and time. We play for the story, not for the mini games. I get that we need to do that in between, but four are just too much.

So, a bit more about the story itself. I think it was really interesting with Eric and Whitmore. Like, I somehow liked him xD. I just love weird characters and I thought he looks really cool for this role. (I won't comment on any acting here.) The way he suddenly appeared, with that look, those eyes, I loved it, gave me a good amount of chills. He gives me 'wannabe survival trainee'- vibes. Like, you know, those guys who train in case the world ends? He gave me those vibes. Likes it. Whitmore is approved. xD

I think it was very interesting that whitemore also had a tarot card. Like, we got 'The Stranger', Whitmore got 'The Liar' and ad Unknown said, he is indeed lying. So we are, apparently, somehow connected with Whitemore definitely. And it's obviously that whatever is happening, we are a big reason for it. I feel like someone is challenging us to solve this case. Maybe Unknown, maybe someone else, I don't know.

Unknown is my favorite character so far, to be honest. Yes, I'm a simple person. But he is obviously somehow important for all this and knows things that might be important for us. The Greenside Motel story is very interesting for me as well. I like how they made this mystery around it. The room Adam got and how we have the theory that the room was for us and not for Adam himself. The bonus with doing the Viral Story gave the whole thing an extra touch and made it more exciting. The comments we get, what the people say about the Motel, the whole stories and stuff, I think it's very interesting.

And I also liked the little bonus about the girl who was asking for Eric. Seems like those two had a rather stromy relationship or anything since Ash said 'Like she has any right to know' and stuff like that. I really do wonder how Charlie managed to deal with her.

Oh, and another big thing: WHERE THE HELL IS BRIAN?? Like two episode and dude didn't appear? Sus! Come out, say hello. I don't have time to wait.

So, long story short, my opinion in a few words: The story is great and has definitely potential. However, I'm still missing something that really keeps me up on my toes and and give me that adrenaline like feeling. The episode was definitely much better than the first one, although, in my eyes, sadly,.. chewy and still a bit too dry.

(Oof, so, that was a lot, actually. And the first time I really made a whole post about my thoughts. I'm sure I forgot about things I wanted to mention but if so, I will just add it to this post by reblogging. I hope you found my answer likeable and you had some fun reading it. Hello I have a couple things to say and questions to ask. (Sorry if any of them have already been addressed on your blog!!)

First of all this looks great and I'm very excited. I love your designs and creature-fication of everyone (particularly Carmilla, I'm very fond of the idea of vampires having more bat-like attributes.)

The albums as different areas is very interesting to me. I take it this is mostly an au but how much of canon are you going off of? Does this game take place in any particular part of the mechs timeline? I assume you'll be changing the story within the albums considering canon would make most of the main story characters dead so it'll be interesting to see how you tackle that.

Also, massive props to you for doing all the tiles, sprites, maps, and music yourself. Game making is super hard!!

Heyooo! First of, happy new years!

I'm very glad people seem to like what I'm doing and my feral designs! I was at first quite scared but eventually I figured "eh they're all aliens in some way, fuck it." So now I creature the hell outta everyone!!

And it's mostly an au, yes, though if you squint yer eyes and tilt yer head it COULD MAYBE SOMEWHAT fit into cannon?... maybe. Don't quote me on that. I long ago stopped trying to make it fit (examples are ivy Alexandria being trans masc, Marius being nonbinary n using he/they pronouns and the ratatosk express being a steam train locomotive now cause...cause steam train fun :] )

Due to items you'll see on the Aurora (but not in the demo), it's safe to assume it's some time after bifrost or UDAD (I don't remember which one was the last??), since I figured there chaotic gay space pirates do NOT give a fuck of when they play what album, like they could've just experienced UDAD but still tell the tale of OUATIS, Ya know? I loosened my view and accuracy of timeline since I believe it would be impossible for me to create something how I want it to be if I'd stay 100% accurate (also believe me I've tried multiple times to go over the timeline with others and I ended up just quiting)

Lastly to the album areas. I can tell you that the game focuses on nastya and Aurora and to me, Aurora would store the data of everything that happened, places they've been to and people they've met. So if you'd, let's say, be able to enter a "computers" code on a deep level like nastya probably could, I'm sure that data would surely translate into something. ;)

To be honest I am quite terrified that people will see and play my work and hate it due to the choices I've taken with it, but I'll just hope that doesn't happen? I've put so much love and thought into it, it has to count for something, right? :D
