The societal pressure to conform with one's AGAB affects intersex and trans people in different ways.

For trans people, this means being pressured against changing their bodies.

For intersex people, this means being coerced and forced into changing their bodies.

This is why I fucking hate when trans people cite intersex surgeries on cis teens as an example of 'gender affirming surgeries' for minors being acceptable/good/beneficial. Those cis boys getting top surgery ARE intersex and they were absolutely pressured and shamed into agreeing to this. It is nowhere near the same situation as a 16/17yo trans boy who spent years vehemently advocating for themselves and asking to get their top surgery. Intersex people are pressured into surgeries and hormones because our bodies naturally make people in our lives uncomfortable. Intersex people are often operated on at much younger ages than trans people. There is no informed consent here, there's nobody telling intersex teens this isn't the only option. That has a MASSIVE fucking impact on the question of whether or not teens getting cosmetic procedures/hormones is ethical in this context.

When cis intersex teens get 'gender affirming care' most of the time it wasn't the child who sought it out. It was the world around them pushing it onto them. That's the crucial difference here.

I feel like ranting because I hate this.

I’m trying to play Wuthering Waves (an Open World Gacha game by the people who made Punishing Gray Raven) on my gaming laptop with a controller and I fucking hate it. It hasn’t been a day since this game is released, I haven’t completed the first act—hell, I haven’t unlocked the ability to wish and I already want to quit this game

I had to search so many forums and articles trying to figure out how to change the inputs in the game because I have a specific way I like to play a game (i.e X button = Attack, O button = Jump) only to find out that you allegedly can’t.

And it’s fucking stupid and in my opinion, terrible game design.

Forcing players to play your game using specific inputs that you can not change and is locked when they might prefer to play another way is bad. Seriously, most games I’ve played with controller doesn’t prevent me from changing something as simple as Normal Attack or Jump and gives you the ability to change it so you can change it to a more comfortable play style. Examples: Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, and Hades

Literally I haven’t even entered Jinzhou and every five-ten minutes I’m hoping that I would magically get the option to change the settings or I’m looking up to see if there’s something I’m missing. Literally I’ve been in like 6 (?) fights and my first inclination is to use X for attack and all I’m doing is jumping around, mashing buttons, feeling bothered by the controls, and losing interest in playing because I can’t wrapped my head around using the inputs this game is forcing me to use, because I’m more comfortable using specific ones.

And I know I’m probably coming off as whiny, but I can’t stress enough just how important this is to me in order to play a game and be comfortable while doing so. And by extension, restricting players from doing something as simple as changing certain inputs like Jump and Attack from the start tells me I won’t be able to enjoy fully enjoy this game.

So unless I’m doing something wrong and there is a way to unlock the ability to change the keys on controller, especially on PC, please let me know, because I don’t think I can continue playing a game that restricts it’s players this way
