Today starts Heart Month. I look at these pictures of my heart warrior and remind myself of what a fighter he is. What an inspiration. That he is my hero. To me, Heart Month is another opportunity to raise awareness for Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) and to encourage others to do so. CHD is the most common birth defect. 1 in 100 children will be born with a heart defect. CHDs are common and can be deadly, yet CHD research is grossly underfunded relative to the prevalence of the disease.
