when miles moved to LA to teach at PSU, cal just happened to be looking for a roommate. he posted an ad on the PSU site, and miles responded. they have been living together in their large apartment ever since, and have gotten along like best bros from the start.

Oh gosh, that sounds painful. I'm sorry that happened, I know sports injuries are common but still that sucks.

They suck very badly. I played soccer, I had an anterior cruciate ligament tear in my left knee and the recovery time was long and I injured it again almost immediately so it's still very painful ten years later.

That sounds like a really cool subject though, what kind of things do you get to do with that? At least it is cool minus the eighteen year olds.

Nothing is wrong with a rom-com i have directed a couple of them but I wanted something different and something potentially more challenging.

And what's wrong with a good, old-fashioned romcom, Miles? I think it's high time we took them back from Hallmark.

I mean never say never, I might do that at some point. I am not the biggest horror fan but some of the ones i have seen are good.

Oh I have nothing against romcoms, I have done a few in the past but it just seemed to be all I got so I wanted something different. No sneak peeks as of yet, but maybe when things are undergo we might be able to do so.

As a romcom fam, it does hurt my heart to know that there'll be fewer out there with a PSU alum's name tied to them. But it sounds like you are far more excited with this avenue, and that's something I have to support! Any sneak peeks you can give us?

I don't know if that is a good thing. I mean it's going to be a long time until people see it but I am glad you're excited for it.

Erm, I don't even have a response for that. I am not on set at the moment so do I have to be awake for it right now? No, but I can promise you I am usually always awake and alert when I am directing. Thanks.

How busy is it over the holidays? I can imagine busier then usual.

Action films? Really? I mean, I don’t exactly see you as the ‘guy on the run’ type, don't you have to look like you're 100% awake for that? But I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Good luck with the scripts. And nothing exciting here unfortunately. LAPD doesn’t take holidays off and I’ll be on shift. Maybe I'll catch a little downtime between calls, but I’m not holding my breath.

My agent has sent me some scripts for potential films to direct, finally they are not a romcom and instead are actually action films and dramas. I am excited to read them and maybe find my next project. Don't worry this won't stop me from being your amazing professor if you are studying film studies, just means I will have something to do around the summer next year. However, we are approaching the end of the year which is crazy, has anyone got exciting things coming up before the end of the year?
