Damn he's right, that is the only "action" scene in the whole book 😂 Also I gotta give my poor Baley a pass on the first bathroom freakout, I would also lose it if I went to use a toilet and suddenly the whole room turns into an open field.

Things Elijah Baley is scared of, so far:

The dynamic between Simon and Catherine is hilarious. Simon is out here having ten meltdowns simultaneously, meanwhile Catherine, who's already used to going through the horrors™ of consciousness transfers on a nearly-daily basis, and been thoroughly burnt out by the Mass Extinction Event, and possibly had body dysmorphia or whatever she meant by "not being that comfortable being human", could not care less about baby's first existential crisis. What a duo.
