hi! i don’t think i’ve posted in about three weeks; unfortunately, i fell into a bit of a slump, what with college applications that seem improbable. today, i think i finally got back into the swing of things! i crossed off more than half of my to-do list (which is a lot for me), and i’ve started running every day, which is nice. i hope everyone is doing well and staying warm :)

22-08-2020 | Studied in a library I hadn't been to before. It rained heavily for a while and the sound of the rain on the roof was so peaceful. Other than that it was rather noisy there, though, so I might invest in some noise-cancelling headphones.

mon // 17 aug

anyone else in the sf bay area dealing with this ridiculous heat?! on top of that, the other night there was this gnarly thunderstorm like nothing i’d ever seen. i think that if it weren’t so hot (and if it didn’t happen from freakin’ 4 to 8 a.m.), i would’ve enjoyed it more. i was actually pretty freaked out lmao. weather events like that are an anomaly in california, probably akin to earthquakes happening on the east coast, so everyone makes a big to-do about it. there’s also a lot of concern since it’s the beginning of wildfire season here, and the lightning already hasn’t made it any easier. :-(

in other news, it’s been so hot that i’ve been seriously unmotivated to sit and be productive… i’ve been mostly sitting in front of the AC and eating a ton of ice cream. :x but! i have been making incremental progress teaching myself japanese for the past few weeks. it’s slow-going and my handwriting and kanji definitely need work, but i’m having a lot of fun with it so far. any other japanese beginners out there?! :D
