     amusement takes no time to present itself on his features, giving the paper a cursory glance. it looks fancy. “donna doesn’t make me do anything.” and it’s most certainly not because he’s totally whipped. eric picks up the invitation, reading through the final details while his grin grows. any opportunity to see hyde in formal attire is a welcome one. “is jackie making you?” 

             frustration  is  obvious     ;     arms  raising     ,     swinging  in  defeat  ‘fore  he  all  but  falls  into  his  usual  seat     ,     legs  spread     .     a  hand  will  come  up     ,     wave  in  dismissive  irritation     ,     before  natural  stance  of  elbows  braced  on  legs  and  back  hunched  comes  to  light     .                     “     of  course  she’s  making  me     .     you  think  i  wear  a  monkey  suit     ,     parade  around  like  a  ken  doll     ?     no     !     “     needless  to  say     ,     a  formal  dance  is  not  his  first  choice  of  date  spot     .

Eyes move towards the other, blunt between his fingers as it’s shared. It’s brought to John’s lips as he takes a DRAG himself, eyebrows lifting as he exhales slowly, passing the drug back. It’s always the government with this dude – he’s cool and all but DAMN. “Is this all you ever wanna talk about when we’re smoking, man? What the fuck are we s’posed to do about that anyway?”

          he  accepts  the  blunt     ,     layering  it  between  lips     ,      viewing  smoke  through  tinted  lenses  and  grinning  as  he  inhales     .                          “     i  don’t  know     ,      man     .     “                         a  laugh  will  escape     ;     he  can’t  help  it     ,     and  won’t even  be  embarrassed  by  the  way  in  which  it  is  released       .                         “     but  we  gotta  do  somethin’     .     if  not   . . .    they’ll  come   . . .   and  take  us     ,     in  the  middle  of  the  night     .     next  thing  you  know     ,     you’re  face  down  in  an  ice  bath  and  your  kidneys  are  on  the  black  market     .     “
