Question for Disabled Writers of Tumblr: I have an OC who uses a cane because of issues with one of their legs. The OC in question lives in a high tech world where prosthetics are encouraged and appear to be available to even the poorest of people. However, I don’t want them to have a prosthetic as I feel like they’re used in popular media as easy ways to make a character canonically disabled while never having them show real disability struggles. What would be a good way to write them so they fit into the world while still respectfully keeping their cane and disability?

The GOP are already trying to make Trump king for life. They probably don't have enough votes to pass it this time but this is why every election counts. Assuming future elections are not rigged, local elections will make the difference between freedom and tyranny. And state and country governments have a huge impact too now. VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION. What are you, five? Is “they did it too so it’s ok that I’m doing it!!!1!” really the best justification you can come up with? Or do you assume that I’m as morally corrupt as you, and therefore wouldn’t dare to address imperialism in all forms? Your facts aren’t even accurate. You cannot claim that Israel has left Palestinians alone since 2005 when Israel has been bombing Palestinian villages, arresting civilians, and denying Palestinians food, the right to collect water, and medical aid. Was it ‘leaving them alone’ when Palestinian children were slaughtered and arrested by Israeli forces? Were the civilians bombed and chemically attacked by white Phosphorus in Lebanon left alone? It’s very interesting you made this an attack on me personally, when all I said was that there is no innocence in occupation. It’s almost as if you feel guilty when people rightfully call out Israel for forcibly evicting hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and therefore need to justify such actions to yourself. Also, very interesting you automatically assumed I’m Arab, as if only Arab people care about Palestine. I’m Armenian through and through. My people faced genocide, ethnic cleansing, and countless atrocities. Israel has aided Turkey and Azerbajian in bombing us and forcing us out of our homes since the 1980s, and the Israeli government doesn’t even have the decency to acknowledge our genocide. The people your fawning over yourself to claim as innocent have continuously harassed and assaulted Armenians living in Israel and attacked and vandalized Armenian homes and churches. You cannot claim innocence for a people who treat Armenians like the treat Palestinians: less than the dirt under their feet. The Israeli government may be the ones with military power, but the Israeli people are complicit in its crimes.

If you’re living on stolen land, you’ve made the choice to do something wrong. An Israeli person living on occupied Palestinian land has done just as much wrong as a Turkish person living on occupied Armenian or Kurdish land. You may not have killed those people, but you benefited from their suffering. In the age of the internet, there is no way to absolve yourself of blame by saying you were ignorant. If you actually were, you made the conscious decision to be, and will have to live with your wrongdoing.
