No I can legitimately see him making Fawcett a frozen-in-time city and I NEED that! It’s not fair that other heroes get their own city with their own quirks, Billy deserves that too! Give us whimsy timeless Fawcett!!!

Honestly it’s underutilized in dc how well Billy/cap would get along with more than half of the heroes
I feel like Mr. Terrific and Shazam would form an unlikely friendship. It would be the strangest relationship in the DC universe too.
Think about it. Mr terrific is a genius beyond comprehension (glazing him because I love him) and Shazam has the wisdom of Solomon.
Solomon had studied arithmetic, writing, mystic arts and music.
Tell me they wouldn't have thorough discussions about math or philosophy???

No literally. Guy is eating at a restaurant in full gl gear and no one is batting an eye.
one thing i absolutely adored about Superman (2025)?.. the fact that in-universe, superheroes have existed publicly for centuries. Superman is just another metahuman, and they're a very commonplace sort of thing - which the movie makes extremely clear. the civilians - or even animals!!! - aren't freaked by a kaiju downtown, Lois barely spares a glance to the interdimensional imp. superheroes get interviewed and sometimes operate via corporate sponsorships. seeing a superhero is like seeing animal control or a repairs company on your street - or maybe the fire department. Clark is automatically humanized, simply by being one of many

Okay so I’m thinking that the first mimic was made for Fazbear ent in mind. The perfect endoskeleton that could mimic any character it was put into. It’s likely when he heard the Fiona frequency(whether it was Fiona’s spirit or whatever, idk), he decided to train it to be like her. Show it videos and the like.
M2 mimicing David was 100% the reason for its creation. Edwin would only be building something new wt that point if it could bring his son back. Otherwise I don’t think he’d care.
Despite m2 being made for that such purpose, Edwin was not ready for it to succeed. I think he knew that no matter what he did, nothing could replace his son. He was more frustrated with himself than anything else. So, he took his anger out on m2. It’s purposefully hypocritical.
so what's the consensus among the community, did Edwin make M1 and M2 specifically to mimic his dead family, or did it just happen?
i've seen two versions going around, first that Edwin made M1 because he heard Fiona's voice in the frequency and built the mimic because he thought it's actually her, or Fiona's spirit latched onto the prototype of the mimic that he just used to babysit David after her death.
and another two versions for M2, first that he made it because M1 kept asking him to "make another" and he made it specifically to replace David, or he was just making another mimic for performing (for Fazbear?) and it just accidentally started mimicking David which angered Edwin and he wasn't planning for it to do so.

Can I complain just a little?
It’s annoying when Batman/batfam fans find an fandom post loosely associated with him (in this instance Billy Batson which is what I’ll be tagging) where another character is the star, they immediately must-
“Well of course Batman already knows”
“Bat is aware but plays along”
“Batman knows all”
“Batman is omnipotent”
Like… damn. It’s like it’d just kill you to let another character have the spotlight, no Batman shaped doll to shove into the limelight right beside them.
Obviously it’s not that serious, I’m just complaining to complain (and I block on sight anyways) but yeah. Just annoying.

This is in response to a post by @cyaontheflipside which talks about how the mimic is actually a well written villain. Loud agree buzzer! But I wanted to make this my own post cause I’ve got a lot to say.
The Mimic reminds me of a child in an abusive household, changing and shaping themselves into who their parents wanted them to be. Or, even just the program itself(not just m1 and m2).
The code shaped itself into Fiona’s mannerisms, her love for her son, and even the comfort in which her husband relied on before she died. Then, it did the same with David’s mannerisms and personality.
It was made for the sole purpose of mimicry. That was its one job. And when Edwin couldn’t see past his anger despite being the one to rerun the program for a copy of David, it learned violence. It learned hypocrisy, anger, and, wouldn’t ya know it, the true strength in his body(cue THAT one chilling recording in Edwin’s office).
The mimic is affected by the sad, sad life of the Murrays, and, like a child, does its best to conform and make its creator happy. You want kind, encouraging Fiona? You’ve got it! You want timid, playful David? You’ve got that too!
But it was never enough. Because the story of the mimic is also meant to show that technology, no matter how complex and perfected, can never truly replicate human connection and experiences. Fiona and david are gone, and Edwin could never accept that.
Unfortunately, the mimic did its job. It’s STILL doing its job. Which is to mimic. Whether it’s still relying on its creator’s angry grief, or William’s sadistic tendencies for murder, that’s up to you. But it is, without a doubt, a well written villain.

I need this on an unearthly level
field trip to stark industries fic but it’s post-NWH and it’s peter community college class and peter’s first time back in the building after being forgotten.
and the building makes it very clear that AIs were immune to the spell.
bonus points if it’s an au where tony survived, and he’s very curious why his tech is reacting so strangely to this random kid

Are you kidding? Billy is supposed to be the champion of Magic and guardian of the rock of eternity. The protector of Magic itself. He’s supposed to be an integral part in all things Magic, but dc has never used him in that way.
Despite having Solomon’s wisdom and achilles’ courage, dc writers have him be an immature man-child who crushes on older women.

Why do they deserve to win?

Thanks so much to all the endgame edits for making me cry. Now I’m thinking about how the fact that no one will ever know what changed in Tony’s mind to get him to invent time travel. No one will know that he saved the world for a boy he thought of as a son, and no one will know said son.
