Sims 4: How to delete unwanted swatches on EA Create-a-Sim items!

Hi! My blog is super inactive, but I just figured out how to do this so I thought I’d post it in case other people were curious on how to do this.

This is a great way to clean up all of the CAS items you know you’ll never use, which will speed up your loading times!

What you’ll need

Sims4Studio

A mods folder that’s been set up properly

Some patience

How it works

Basically, we’re cloning an item which will only have the swatches that we want, while creating an override / default replacement that will hide the original.

Step 1: Cloning the item

Open Sims4Studio and enter your desired name into the “Creator Name” section on the bottom right.

Under the blue “CAS” button, check “Create CAS Standalone.” Then hit the blue “CAS” button.

Navigate to the item that you want - you can use the options in the top bar to narrow down the results. (Such as species, gender, age, game pack, etc.)

When you see the image of the item that you want, hold shift and then left click. This will select all the swatches. If you hover your cursor over the thumbnail, you’ll see the name of the item. That’s what I name my .package files for clarity’s sake.

Hit “next” on the bottom right and a window will come up asking where to save your .package file and what to name it. Do so and hit “save.”

Now you’ll see a preview of the item on the left and a panel on the right. Click the tab “Categories”. Here you can assign whatever you like, including what ages, genders, and occult species can wear the item, what color or color palette it’s classed under, what outfit type and clothing type it is, and whether randomly generated sims can wear it. If you want these changes to apply to all of the swatches, remember to click “Apply to All Swatches” for each category.

Now at the top of the info panel, you will see the swatches. You can click between them and the preview will change. For any swatches you dislike, click “Remove swatch.”

Now that you’re done, hit “Save” and once the dialog box pops up telling you it’s been saved, hit “Cancel” to go back to the main menu.

Step 2: Hiding the Original

Under the blue “CAS” button, check “Override.” Then hit “CAS” again.

Select the same item as before, remembering to hold shift when clicking to select all the swatches.

The window will come up again asking for a name and location for your .package file. For clarity’s sake, I normally name mine “(original name) Hider.package”

Now on the info panel, go to the “Categories” tab again. Under “Age & Gender Flags,” uncheck everything and then hit “Apply to All Swatches.” Then scroll down to the bottom and uncheck “Allow for Random” and again hit “Apply to All Swatches.”

Save and then you are done!

I know this was uploaded 3 years ago, but I cannot for the life of me find the files in this download. The .zip has another .zip file on the inside, but that just contains the files for part 1. Am I doing something wrong? x_x

Master Suite Stuff Outfits Maternity Enabled  Part 2

I’m so happy you liked the first part. Here’s the second part with the two pieces. As I said with the first one - I did this for myself so the quality isn’t perfect.   A few things though:  - I take no credit at all. The only thing I did was to enable this to maternitywear.  - They’re not BG-compatible. You still need the Mastersuite Stuff Pack for this to work. If someone else want to make them compatible for basegame - feel free.  - There’s previews included in the download if you don’t want all 12 outfits.  - I didn’t include all outfits from the pack because some of them were to sexy and I thought they wouldn’t be that comfy if you’re preggers.  - This is the first time I’ve done something like this so it’s probably not perfect. Please tell me if you notice something that doesn’t work.  - My graphics isn’t so good, i’m sorry for the sucky quality on the previews.  If you have any question - feel free to message me!
