Knit and crochet striped top

Also an old one. This pattern is from Mani fi Fata and incorporates alternating striped panels of granny square crochet and striped knitting. I later added to the centre of the sleeves to make them longer, but don't have good photo right now.

Private messages question.
I have received a couple of random PMs which just say 'how are you?' or something similar. I haven't answered as there's nothing else mentioned and I'm wary of spammers and scammers on Facebook, and since I'm relatively new on Tumblr I assume it's similar here. So if you would like to ask something relevant to my blog go ahead, but I probably won't reply unless I'm asked a real question. Sorry!

Great news for me because i have a fully crochet project queued for posting (but without a knitting tag!)
If you do decide to learn crochet, I find that the only really difficult thing is remembering how many movements to do per stitch so i always have to consult a book or the internet before starting a new section.
Thanks for the reply and happy crafting! 🤗
Hi Sorcha, had a look at your page and i have a stupid question about the intro. By not putting crochet under a knitting tag, you don't mean projects which have both knitting and crochet right? Like I'm assuming you don't have something against crochet? 😂
Hi!
That’s not a stupid question at all! It's a very fair one, given that so much of the internet lacks nuance.
I don't have anything against crochet as a craft and artform! I have a lot of admiration for crocheters, and I might even manage to learn enough to join your ranks one day.
I'm also learning to be less... immediate in my blocking of people posting crochet to the knitting tag, ever since I realised that many languages don't distinguish between crochet and knitting in their vocabulary... so why would non-English speakers expect that English does? And maybe it's racist of me to demand that they understand that there is a difference in English. Especially when they're more fluent in multiple languages than I might ever be.
If I'm being brutally honest with myself, at least part of my irritation with seeing crochet in the knitting tag is because I go to the tag for enjoyment and inspiration and pattern ideas, but then encountering crochet I'm like, I can't do that. And maybe I feel insecure about that, or feel FOMO, or... well. Things that are my problem to deal with, not crocheters and fellow fibrecrafters.
So anyway. Spam taggers aside, I don't have any vendetta against crochet!

as a knitter, you start to notice how rare it is for characters in tv shows and movies to knit correctly. from worst to best, it ranges from:
- laughably incorrect, just flinging yarn around
- knitting the most basic scarf incredibly slowly because the actor Learned How To Do It For The Role
- old lady actresses casually knitting an intricate lace pattern while doing a monologue
- gromit from wallace and gromit
