It’s Ladybug’s turn to patrol tonight, so it’s up to Chat to watch the kittens. Basically my contribution to Ladrien June, combining the prompts for days 2, 16, and 17 all in one (“babysitting”, “goodbye kiss”, and “aged up”.) May do a reverse version later but we’ll see.

I'm the Climatiqueen anon. No I'm not an anti and neither are those whose takes I send you. That's why they get me confused, making me question my own perception of the show.

It is a bit unrealistic to expect anyone to be 100% perfectly aware of their partner's moods and feelings at all times. And we have seen Marinette show up for Adrien a lot this season already. Even in Climatiqueen, she was assembling an assortment of activities for him to try because he told her he lacked a passion for anything. So she got materials for every activity she could think of to support him. She's trying to be supportive and help him, she just has her own Marinette quirks, but we've seen her working on them. I've appreciated how they have handled their relationship. There are times when they're both patient with each other, there are times when they miscommunicate but in the end, they come back together and say okay let's not do that again, there are times when they set boundaries, there are times when they've learned things about each other. They're growing as a couple in every episode because it is different than being friends.

I'd also like to offer for your consideration, perhaps it may seem like Marinette doesn't know Adrien very well because Adrien doesn't know Adrien very well. And I think that's the point of s6. He's clearly trying to discover himself both inside and outside his relationship with Marinette. So, in a sense, they're getting to know him better together. Because the Adrien we've had so far has always been under Gabriel's control, all of his hobbies and choices (minus being Chat Noir) were picked for him. Now, he can decide for himself, and as this episode pointed out, he has different tastes that he's discovering.

There are a number of problems between them still (namely the secret) but canon is very clearly setting that up to be addressed at some point. We've had numerous instances of a "person can't truly grow without knowing the truth/confronting the root of the problem" morals thrown around. But I'd say that Marinette not knowing much about Adrien (which, again, I feel like she knows plenty about him, it's not a problem in my eyes) is the least of their concerns.
