Sorted  (The Commission for Financial Capability) has just released a game that teaches kids about debt. Players take the role of an evil loan shark, with the aim to make as much money from borrowers as possible.
What do you think of this approach to educating kids about financial literacy? Try the game and see what you learn.

Some of you have expressed an interest in creating some form of interactive documentary. I think you’ll find this a really interesting and useful resource:
COME/IN/DOC - Collaborative Meta Interactive Documentary - is a transmedia meta-documentary that reflects on the interactive documentary. It consists of 3 interconnected parts: a documentary series, a multimedia platform and exhibitions.
This is the result of four years of intensive research (2012-2016) conducting interviews with experts in the field of interactive documentary with the aim of answering a basic question: what is an interactive documentary? From this starting point, the idea is to reflect about this emerging field using different platforms. The project could be described as a “meta-interactive-doc”, an interactive documentary that reflects himself on the new genre trying to answer the questions and hypotheses raised during a period of nearly 10 years of research.

How do you making jogging fun/more fun? Add a competitive element and a hint of story. I hate running, but this app could maybe motivate me to give it a go.
Pan Studio’s website and Kickstarter campaign also shows how you can present a concept before you have a product ready to launch. http://panstudio.co.uk/project/run-an-empire/
Check out Zombies, Run! for a running app with a much stronger emphasis on storytelling.

Another webdoc that explores data + privacy and delivers a personalised experience. This is a fairly experimental project and hasn’t been fully developed I think, so you may encounter some glitches. Definitely worth looking at though.

This is a great site for VR content. Best viewed with a VR device, but you can use your browser or phone too.

View in Chrome. This is one of the examples of personalisation we looked at in class. Good use of Google Maps too.

This is a good example of how VR is being used in journalism. Click more (on the page this post links to) to explore stories associated with this topic on the Guardian website.

This interactive documentary is a few years old now, but it set the standard for non-linear storytelling using a range of different media and techniques including live cams, map-based structure, a timeline and fixed duration and use of data.
