underrated upside of autism is that people often find your natural way of speaking effortlessly funny. i booked an optometrist appointment and the receptionist gave me the rundown of their services, to which i replied "sounds comprehensive, i like it". it killed. she burst out laughing and said "why yes, i think he'd love to be called comprehensive! :D"

so, chapter four telling us straight to our faces that dead monsters can exist, alive, in dark worlds was a pretty insane chekhov's gun, right? not only that, but that a dark world made for the "wrong" reasons (or even, with how susie did it, something as innocent as for any intentional reason at all) can result in a horrific perversion of said dead monster?

yeah. dess' dust is 100% scattered on something in the shelter and that's why carol doesn't want it opened, let alone risk having that fountain sealed. carol - or someone she could strongarm into it hint hint - made that dark world with the express purpose of bringing dess back to life. anything that could possibly disturb dess' remains and therefore result in the final, complete death of her daughter would be utterly unacceptable.

i'm still pretty evenly split between carol knight or dess knight, but with the context of fake gerson, the knight begins to look more and more like a fucked up animalistic shell of dess, doesn't it?

bonus unsorted thoughts: why was the knight trying to... kidnap? absorb? soul drain? toriel? no clue yet, but my guess is it's looking for a new, more stable body. plus toriel being a boss monster would absolutely have some added appeal. undyne getting in the way and getting kidnapped instead could have some extra meat behind it beyond just getting rid of the witness if this guess is right: again, a strong, stable body. but if undyne has anything resembling the pseudo-determination she had in undertale, that would be invaluable in trying to manifest dess again.

(assuming determination will be a thing in deltarune which, like, come on.)

there's a pretty inconsequential but also probably-entirely-intentional-knowing-toby thing i want to ramble about in deltarune's new chapters but i'm gonna sit on my hands until more of my friends have played them. i think it's cool tho :)

the addition of her laughter in the CD version of the OST really was a genius move. it reminds me of other video game songs where they have a non-musical element so heavily associated with them that it feels weird hearing them without (probably my personal favourite example is Final Hours from Majora's Mask - the experience just isn't the same without the clocktower bells going haywire and the earth rumbling).

the gnarly echo and distortion and particularly the channel crossing you added to her laughter here was a stellar touch! i wear headphones and it actually made it sound like it was coming from somewhere in my house x')

this started out as one half of a gag drawing idea that i'd had forever, and then took a hard left into effort territory when mister boat demanded to be drawn in nothing less than full detail.

it's always so funny drawing them directly interacting because NOVA makes the Lor look like a toy. he's 6'3", NOVA is just a giant

a couple of years ago I made my own version of a gikabi bingo (and then utterly forgot to post it anywhere, because I am who I am). being a pretty niche community, there weren't many other bingo boards available at the time, and the ones that were around felt both very recency bias and western fandom focused, and also kind of... mean-spirited. so I made my own, and I tried to include a variety of older trends and less common ones, to cover a lot of bases and make it more interesting for everyone to participate in and see what they score!
