Just one of many queer and feminist utopias that we have been searching for.

One of the last concepts I want to explore: the Space Cowboy.

Though the concept of the Space Cowboy originated in the 1960s as slang for a pothead. We can find some similarity to the phrases space case and space cadet - generally referring a drug user who is detached from everyday life and may find it difficult to communicate with people in the straight (i.e. non-drug-using) world.

Science Fiction and Western are not genres that are total opposites. Both explore new frontiers. Space Cowboys fall under the sci-fi category of Space Western (or Frontierism).

It should not be surprising to see this concept time and time again in queer artistic practices - especially music.

I cannot think of a better concept to conclude this visual project with. It encompasses all themes in this project; most importantly, futurism.

Under The Skin is a 2014 sci-fi horror film where an unnamed alien creature who takes on a female human form lures lonely Scottish men into her home and submerse them in a strange liquid. 

It is futurist and abject in the way the alien uses human bodies as disguises.

It is worth noting that "the abject has a strong feminist context, in that female bodily functions in particular are ‘abjected’ by a patriarchal social order."

Titane explores themes of themes of sexuality, gender identity, and parenthood.

In an instance of car sex - literally, sex with a car - results a pregnancy and titanium-plated (a result of a childhood car accident) main character Alexia stares in terror as her belly soon bulges out, her breasts leak motor oil, and black oil pours out of her vagina in the shower. Her body is now on a journey that doesn't include her.

As described on TIFF, Titane is an unflinching foray to the very peaks (and depths) of human extremities.

THESE are the primary tentatives towards independence.

MAN is a slave only to his own mental lethargy.

YOU cannot restrict the mind’s capacity.

THEREFORE you stand not only in abject servitude to your perceptive consciousness—

BUT also to the mechanical re-actions of the subconsciousness, that rubbish heap of race-tradition—

HERE are the fallow-lands of mental spatiality that Futurism will clear—
