Hi dears! We decided to expand the pen-and-paper-server due to little to no interaction by making space for other parts of queer life with special focus on queer life in Vienna. Therefore, we'll restructure the server in the following days: pen and paper will get its own category with several channels where you can still connect and share with each other. Apart from that there will be other categories like events, arts, health and more. We hope you'll stay with us and have fun with the new server!

Hey! I have a question and I was wondering if you could help me with it. It's about reffering to people in german when you dont know their gender. You reffer to them as "es"? Or idk! what are the protocols?
Hi! Sorry for the delayed reply, I always forget I have another blog :')
And for your question, I am sure of one thing and that is you definitely shouldn't call them that.
I asked my native friend and she suggested two tumblr blogs who know more about the subject than I do.
It's : @queervienna and @nonbinarytransgermany
Plus this:
Tumblr media
Hope that helps and clears some of your confusion ☺️

Ah yes, the eternal question of gender neutral pronouns in German.
The problem is that German is a highly gendered language - please do not use „es“ for a person since it‘s usually considered to be pretty rude (some people have reclaimed it for themselves though). The most widely spread neo pronoun is, in my experience, xier/sier. However, not everyone uses that and there is no fixed answer to this question.
I usually call nonbinary people merely by their name and try to avoid pronouns as much as possible altogether, especially if I don‘t know what pronouns they use. I think nobody will be offended if you simply ask what pronouns are preferred. :)
Nonbinary community, would you like to add something / correct me if I‘m wrong?

A Survey on Health and Openness
Hello all European Adults!
I need participants for my study on sexual and romantic orientation, outness and physical and mental health. It’s for my masters thesis so it will be available through the university of Vienna if you are interested in the results!
https://www.soscisurvey.de/healthoutness/
It will only take about 10-20 minutes and the only requirements are being 18 or older and currently residing in Europe (NOT just the EU, all of Europe!). People of all orientations including straight people, are needed and encouraged to participate! This is the first study I know of that explicitly includes on people on the aromantic spectrum, so if you are on it or know someone, please take part!
It is completely anonymous, no conclusions to your person can be drawn!
Please take part if you can and share it!
Thank you!

Bless the guy who screamed asshole at the armed shooter and also the guy who threw a flowerpot at him
And of course bless those two heroes who saved an old woman and a police officer by dragging them to safety, the hotels that welcomed people, the home owners that marked their homes open for those in need, the restaurants who hid people in their rooms, the orchestra at the opera who played music to calm the visitors and the heroes who have been and are still working hard to protect us all since 8 pm yesterday

Btw not sure if anyone‘s interested in that, but my debut fantasy novel „Knochenblumen welken nicht“ (don‘t worry, there is queerness in there ofc) will be published by Knaur next year! If you‘re interested in that and my other fantasy / slice of life works, you can follow me here on Instagram and here on Twitter. :3

***** YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE! An event to show solidarity with the collective Stop Bzdurom (Stop Bullshit) actively fighting homophobia in Poland and punished for that with arrest and detention, and with the LGBTQ+ community in Poland. The only answer to police brutality and discrimination agains LGBTQ+ community in Poland is radical empathy and radical solidarity, and action. We need to take our love and our anger to the streets so that each and every person knows that they will never walk alone. Let's meet on Wednesday to make it clear that we are and will be together. Solidarity is our strength!
