I don't use a pattern or count my stitches when cross stitching. I am completely self taught and I taught myself the "wrong" way, which works much better for me than the correct way, but it would probably make legit cross stitchers' head spin lol

Whenever I see a design I like, I save the pic to my phone for reference and I put my fabric in a hoop and sketch an outline of the design I found online onto my fabric with a pencil by eyeballing it and then I just follow the lines to do my stitches.

Listen, if it works for you, then it works!

The counting and pattern way isn’t necessarily the ‘right’ way, just the popular way! If you can make what you want to make doing it your own way, then keep doing it like that~ The goal of any art media is just to MAKE.

And if anyone tells you different just ignore them 😘😘

outta my way i'm about to become a ye olde furrie

hi knitting tumblr. um i don't knit but my aunt recently passed and left behind a bunch of extremely high quality yarn. i know very little about yarn and even less about knitting, so i'd like to sell it, and i'm planning on trying ravelry and local facebook groups, but i wanted to see if there's anybody local who is interested.

i live in southern ontario, but the yarn is currently in central ontario. if there's enough interest i could do a yard sale instead of transporting the yarn home? let me know and we'll see

i'm attaching some pics to give an idea of what i've got. this is only a fraction of it. please let me know if you have any interest or know anyone who would be willing to purchase some! i'd also appreciate any more advice on sites, communities, etc. where i could offload some of it.
