Something I think that’s really tragic is the fact Nice died as Nice. He was still in that persona.
For one, when Lin Ling stopped being Nice, his hair color went back to brown. So unless Nice’s original hair color is white, we don’t see that particular sign that Nice shed his “Perfect Hero Nice,” persona.
Secondly, he did the pose, his signature pose. It was quite possibly the last thing he did. He walked to that ledge fully intending to die and he still did that pose.
It’s so sad, I see people saying that he was free in that moment, that killing himself was the last choice he ever made. But is that true? Was he free? I don’t think he was free even while he was falling to his death. When he was finally free, he was dead, and so was that really freedom if he never got to experience it?

I think it’s be hilarious if Nice made this deal on the day he was gonna kill himself, still goes to the roof, where he then finds Lin Ling.
Nice looks at him, squints, looks around and decides this guy probably wants to kill himself as well.
He’s not gonna find better then this, there likely is no better then this. A guy who looks like him and already wants to die? It’s clearly a sign from God because Nice made the deal not even a hour ago.
Ms.J and the others run up from behind them and when they get there, Nice stands next to Lin Ling and looks pointedly towards Ms.J.
She gets the hint. She is astonished because they made that deal ten minutes ago!!
Lin Ling is promptly kidnapped and wonders how the hell any of this happened.
TBHX AU where instead of killing himself, Nice is able to strike a deal with Miss J that he can take a step back from hero life if he can find someone to replace him. In comes Lin Ling.
The two are now coworkers who look exactly like each other, share a room in hero tower, and occasionally tag out and switch places with the other for however long they feel like
A friend of mine has dubbed this "The Princess And The Pauper AU" so do with that as you will
