watching a clip from spike and faith meeting and after faith punches spike he says "leather pants, nice right cross, doe eyes, 'holier than thou' glour: you must be faith." which is when you think about how he probably learnt all of this from buffy feels insane. what an insane way to define faith and define what she shared with buffy: her leather clothes as an armour, her attitude as a confliction point, her fighting strengths because buffy fought with and against her, and her eyes because buffy is gay as fuck.

Buffy steps off the bus expecting a summer camp with potential, but St. Hilda's Academy is already something far bigger and more daunting than she imagined. The awkward distance with Faith since St. Louis isn't getting any easier to navigate.

“I don’t know how you expect me to win this fight,” Faith says, crossing her arms again. She tries to chuckle, looking around the room. “I mean, we all know I’m not the top Slayer. And this thing already beat her?”

“No, no,” says Anya, shaking her head, too loud. “The thing that killed Buffy is already dead.”

Faith says, “So who am I here to fight?”

“Faith,” Angel says. She turns to look at him -- his throat is working. He rubs one hand over his face. “Faith-- Buffy was killed by a vampire.”

Faith can’t help but visualize her lying on the ground, being fed on. Someone’s teeth at her neck. Struggling and struggling until her body finally stops fighting. She says, “Oh.”

Giles is dead. Willow’s in danger. The kid -- the little sister, supposedly -- under Angel’s protection and far away from the action. Red eyes, clenched fists. We lost her and not she’s dead.

Faith says, “Oh,” again.

“Yeah,” says Angel. “We need you to slay a vampire.”

My favorite thing about Xena is that it doesn't matter what plot you thought for your fanfic, Xena already did it in canon.

Vampires, time loop, memory loss, sacrifices, time travel, AU where they are celebrities and the fans are wondering about the nature of your relationship, farytale kiss to wake up the love of your life, horror. The female best friend being the daddy who stepped up to an accidental pregnancy, Greek gods, dying and coming back to life, CRUCIFICTION.

I can go on and on and on.

The irony of this new breed of self-righteous AI hunters on AO3 is that they're all just copy and pasting peoples fics into AI detectors, which are all operated by AI and therefore THEY are feeding people's work into the algorithm without their consent and in some cases no doubt circumventing the locks people put on to avoid getting scraped...

Don't copy and paste anyone's AO3 work into third party websites, you're not the good guys in this situation?
