I know there a lot of controversial opinions on staying in this fandom but - yes being in the marauders fandom keeps it relevant which makes JKR and her precious black mould more money but I’m not responsible for other peoples actions? I choose not to engage with any of her original content (watching the movies, new show, merch, etc.) and actively educate and engage with queer and trans voices, liking the fandom with no engagement of the source material is one of the rare cases of actually being able to separate the art from the artist (if you even want to call her that). If other people see the engagement in this fandom and engage with the source material and give her money, that’s their issue. But leaving the fandom because of other people’s potential actions doesn’t seem right to me. I understand that some people are turned off from anything related to her because of her insane and dangerous rhetoric but it doesn’t mean that they are more morally righteous because they “sacrificed themselves”. I don’t really mind what other people are doing as long as they aren’t giving her more power to fuck vulnerable and lovely people over because Joanne is too incompetent of basic empathy and educating herself past her ignorance.
