Housewifery is unpaid labor.
If men have the “right” to scold their wives for nagging them in their own household— the very same household they cook and clean in, the very same household they serve domestically with or without their husbands— it should also be a right to them that they can scold these men for not having to work and take care of the house without any payment of labor whatsoever!

I swear to God, when people here talk about academia they’re honestly thinking Harvard or Oxford in the 50s. Guys, I’m sorry to break it to you but academia is PhDs students who don’t even get a desk to work in their university and overworked lecturers who are forced to do tons of unpaid work to “get ahead”. i’m begging you all to educate yourselves.
i’m also imploring you to do some research on the importance of universities as cultural and political hubs that bring actual, concrete change to underdeveloped communities, by providing poor and marginalized kids with an education and by actually conducting vital research meant to improve people’s lives. Please remember that there are places in the world where people do not pay thousands of dollars for an university degree and that for many people Universities ARE institutions that considerably improve their lives and not just a place you go after high school because that’s what you’re supposed to do.

I have yet to see a lesbian film that is much like Happiest Season (2020). How many years have we gone through to achieve such film such as Happiest Season? Why only now? I know of its flaws — its deterministic attitude towards the happy ending, despite romantic flaws of the two parties, despite the irrelevant situations that wraps around them — but heck, I care? Give me the crappiest lesbian romcom. We fucking need it. It’s a way to subvert the heteronormative culture that is produced within these industries. Give me the Hallmark Netflix lesbian romcom bullshit. Give me the cheesiest lines, the insufficient character arcs, the unbearable plot holes. We need it. It’s about time we reclaim this shit.

Flexing my Notion reading & activity dashboard! It’s been almost eight months since I started using the app. Really helpful for tracking what I read since I read (A LOT). I love the features in this app so much, but much to my pleasure, they changed their apostrophe into the curved one instead of the straight! (I’m really bothered by that particular detail. I don’t like it when my apostrophe’s aren’t curved lol).
Also, me and my boyfriend are planning to do a book discussion every now and then! He and I love to watch together, and read at our own pace, but we decided to try reading the same books to discuss each by chapter! Now we just have to... get... book titles...uhm, help?
#would be really glad if it was a thriller or a sci-fi classic#anything not boring pls#we love 21st century lit except for the anti-communist racist ones#would he like lolita though that would be quite interesting
