I feel like I’m just the Radqueer that said it’s okay to call the cops at this point. I don’t normally get many asks tho so this is fun! I used to be real big in the punk scene and am getting back into the political (eco-anarchism specifically) scene so this is like,,, enrichment. I’ll say, it’s pretty rad to ask for help and you shouldn’t feel bad if you ever called 911 because you feared that you or someone else was in danger. I love you and I see you.

KDHSOZKDHSODJ. This brightened my day. But ya I don’t get where the idea of ACAB = never call for help came from. I get that cops are bad but I also understand that sometimes to get help, cops will be involved in our current society. If you call 911, there’s a chance a cop will be involved and that sucks but it’s better than refusing to call at all.

involving the police increases the likelihood of someone, especially BIPOC or mentally ill people, getting shot or killed or arrested on unjust charges. it isn't safe to call them in most situations. that's what ACAB means, not "oh they're useless", they kill people. police abolition means "not bringing racist murderers into people's lives unless there is absolutely no other option", not "call the police but don't expect them to do anything". the thing they are most likely to do is ruin someone's life - even if they've committed no crime or done no wrong. please reconsider before saying things like this, especially in a community with lots of marginalized people who face police brutality (i'm not any anon who's sent any other asks about this, for the record)

I feel like some people don’t know what I mean when I talk about sometimes calling the police. When I say call the police, I mean when you are witnessing something illegal that is harmful. No shit the police hurt marginalized groups, that’s why they need demolished and replaced with a better group that actually cares about people.

I’m just saying, if someone is being molested, getting beaten, being robbed, etc. You either take it in your own hands, leave it, or call the authorities (which will lead to police being involved). I’m not talking about calling the police whenever you want for whatever reason, I’m saying when you are witnessing and have proof of a dangerous situation. If someone takes it into their own hands, often they then can be charged because normally intervening can turn into illegal actions and if you leave someone to suffer, you often are a shit person.

I hav witnessed police injustice against my own family which are POC, I’ve seen how after I was hit and kicked out of my own home and reported as a runaway they do nothing, I’ve seen how they fail at protecting people. But I’ve also seen how some people sit there begging for someone to call the police for them, begging that someone will save them. I’m not talking about whatever bullshit is happening on Radqueer tumblr, I’m talking about horrific events that someone should intervene in. I understand why people don’t want to intervene but the fact that you people would rather walk away instead of at least trying to get someone help, says a lot. When you say “abolish the police” you are telling people they should be abolished but when you say “don’t ever call the police” means you don’t want people to get help. Most cases that have fire fighters or first responders, will also have police involved. Saying to not call the police, encourages people to not call them too.

I do understand it’s no simple. You can’t always just call the police and I don’t want people to always call the police. I just think it’s incredibly dangerous to tell people to never call the police. You can teach people the dangers of calling and still make sure they know they can call 911 in emergencies.

I misunderstood the original ask and made a post in response and the anon (Uni) send me an ask explaining. I really don’t appreciate random anons responding to a situation that was quickly resolved. My response was a general response and had nothing to do with the situation it was apparently referring to. Normalize not being a dick to people who misunderstood a post. I never “twisted” anons words and implying I did makes it obvious either you, just like me, have trouble understanding people’s points unless they’re very blatantly said or you’re a bitch. I am hoping it was the former reason. Hope this helps~ :)

you're blatantly ignoring why that anon made the ask, anon never once said you shouldn't / couldn't call the police, anon said wanting people in the community to get arrested is not acab or anti-police, there is a difference, don't twist anon's words to take away from the point of the ask. hope this helps! :)

Whilst I won't go into the ethics of calling the police in general, as that can be heavily debated, my take was specifically about antis (and radqueers) filing police reports on and threatening to call the police on a 14 year old in the rq community for online actions.

I understand that my statement could be widely interpreted but that is specifically what I was talking about, so apologies for not being clearer /gen

This post… does not sit right with me LMAO. What describes anti-harassment here and what are people supposed to do if they don’t call the police? Back in the day, not calling the police for the punks meant just taking it in their own hands and beat the shit out of people.

You can call the police and still agree with abolishing the police. When people want to abolish the police they want to replace them with someone who protects people which means it still would be standard to call them. It’s okay to use the police while they’re around, just don’t expect them to get shit done.

I was in the punk scene for years and never heard anything about punks being “anti-harassment” tbh. If you knew someone who was a bad person, you handled that shit any way you could. You protect your people. I get this post may not be talking about shit like Nazis or child molesters but this mindset can really damage people online and help people like that get away with it.

(Yes, this is pertaining to current issues)

A lot of people here claim to be a radqueer and have all these stances and then don't actually practice it.

You are not anti-harassment if you support callout posts. You are DEFINITELY not anti-harassment if you support callout posts on a minor. You are not "ACAB" or anti-police if you actively hope people in your community get arrested. And you are DEFINITELY not punk if you do any of the above.

I don’t remember besides I like bodily autonomy. I always was a big sucker for sci-fi with a focus on future body modifications and so seeing transID folk who wanted that stuff to be a reality is what introduced me to Radqueer. So when I saw transID posts tagged “Radqueer” I checked it out and loved it besides the fact that I saw ppl claiming it was pro-abuse and anti-consent. Welp, I spoke to Radqueers and learned that the Radqueer ideology now isn’t pro or anti abuse. It’s just pro-good faith identities and stuff that supports them. Whether someone is pro or anti abuse or anti consent is an individual belief and didn’t reflect on what it meant to be Radqueer. Soooo here I am now lol.

There are gloves that mimic dinosaur claws too !

You can commission or make these scale armour cuffs that mimic scales if you're the scale type < 3 ( There are sequin materials at Hobby Lobby , Marshalls , or any diy store that you can easily measure to your arm < 3 )

Here's a tutorials on how to make a dinosaur tail - it's for kids yet quite easy to set measurements for yourself < 3

Learning how to vocalize - there are a lot of tutorials that are similar to roaring , cooing and clicking < 3
