Thank you so much to those folks who dropped by on my Linktober's Creator Con art stream yesterday! I haven't streamed for years so I kinda forgot some streaming etiquettes and terms like raids, subs and such 😅
As I've mentioned on my stream, my PC just got upgraded so expect a slow revival of my Twitch account lol. I'm planning to do not only live-drawing sessions but also live clay sculpting. I can't commit a consistent stream schedule tho...
Today might be the last day of the event, but you can still access the site until July 4. Get your event tix here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/linktobers-zelda-creator-con-online-2025-tickets-1391111464839

What it Means to Be Chosen - Update
Chapter 8 is out! Here's a preview:
“The money is nice, though. I earn far more rupees just walking around than I did by helping my uncle at the forge. I’ve already been able to buy all the materials I needed to make your birthday gift.” “Oh, you really like to plan ahead, won’t you? The Princess’ birthday it’s not until next month,” Paya asked with a teasing grin. “I know, but I want it to be ready for then. I will take some time to do it,” Link replied. Link could see Zelda’s eyes glinting with anticipation. “You’re going to make it yourself? Ohhh, what is it, what is it? Please tell me!” “Sorry Princess, but that would ruin the surprise,” Link replied, as he moved many of his pieces towards Hyrule Castle, under Zelda’s control. He rolled the dices. “Yes! Hyrule Castle has a new king!” Zelda pouted again, and crossed her arms as she watched Link taking away her pieces and replacing them with his own. “That’s treasonous talk. You know I could have you locked up for those words.” “But if I’m locked up, I won’t be able to finish your birthday gift,” Link countered, grinning at her. “And you don’t want that, don’t you?” “He got you there, Princess,” Paya said, suppressing a giggle. Zelda merely rolled her eyes. “Though, speaking of my birthday, it won’t be just that, but also my Inheritance Ceremony. There will be a ball, and I’ll need a partner,” Zelda began, taking a deep breath, as if mentally steeling herself to ask a hard question. “And, Link, I’d wonder if you’d like to… um, be my partner?” “Of course!” Link replied without hesitation. “I’ll be more than happy to be your partner.” While the Princess seemed happy, Paya was looking at him with skeptical eyes. “Link, do you know what a ball is?” the Sheikah asked. “Uh, yes? A round toy, made of leather and filled with stuffing,” Link replied. “Though I don’t know why having a ball at Zelda’s birthday is that big of a deal…” However, the way the princess and her bodyguard were looking at him made Link realize that his answer might have not been a correct one. “No, Link. I meant a ball as in a ballroom dance ,” Paya clarified. “A kind of dance where people dance with a partner, holding each others’ bodies and hands. When the Princess asked if you wanted to be her partner, she meant for the dance.” The moment those words sunk in, Link felt as if somebody poured a bucket of cold water over his head. Yet, ironically, he could feel his face heating up. “A dance? In front of a crowd? With the Princess ?”

Who would've thought that Princess Zelda would eat any food that she dropped on the ground?
Based on this voice note:
Did you know that it takes approx. 5 seconds - in Switch 1 - for an apple to be baked to the ground (either dropped in Eldin region or thrown to a fire)?

What it Means to Be Chosen - Update
Chapter 7 is out! Here's a preview:
“Alright maggots, LINE UP!” A month and a half had passed since Link’s birthday, and the young teen had finally enlisted the Hyrulean army. He had enlisted the very same day he had turned thirteen, and several weeks later he got a letter from the castle informing him that his four-month instruction was about to begin, and that he needed to permanently move to the barracks right outside of Castle Town. The farewell to his uncle was more tearful than he expected, and while he always said that Merale Village wasn’t that interesting of a place to live, he found himself caught by a sense of melancholy as he left the town that had been his home for his whole life. Still, he summoned his resolve in order to push away said feelings. Merale Village was his past, and he couldn’t let it get in the way of the future he had always envisioned, that of a proud defender of the people of Hyrule. And today was the first day of training. He was forming a line with the rest of the new meat, all of them young teens either as young as him while others were older than twenty, while their instructor, an imposing bald Hylian man with an eyepatch wearing heavy armor, walked past them. “Good, it didn’t take you long enough. At the very least, you can follow orders,” the bald man said, satisfied, but his satisfaction didn’t last as his initial gruffness quickly returned. “Alright maggots, my name is Sergeant Firost, and it’s my job to turn you sorry lot into a force of fine soldiers worthy of Her Majesty! So during the next twelve weeks I will destroy you, I will grind you down, I will turn you into the finest of dust, so I can then rebuild you into proper, fearless warriors!” As he talked, he passed by Link, but then he turned around and walked back in order to face him. Link definitely didn’t like the way he was looking at him, and even less when he started to grin. “Well, well, well, look who we have here! If the rest of you aren’t aware, blondie over here is no other than the Princess’ little friend!” Sergeant Firost said, letting out a loud cackle. The rest of the cadets started to murmur among themselves. Oh Goddesses, why did he had to say that? Now everybody would believe that he would be given preferential treatment. “Don’t avoid my eyes, Link. Yes, I know who you are, Her Majesty herself told me about you. She specifically requested I gave you special, personalized training,” Firost said with a predatory grin. He was dead. He was so dead. There was no way the rest of the recruits were going to give him the time of the day after this. Why did the Queen have to do this? Didn’t she believe that he couldn’t pass the training course by his own power? “Alright, I think I talked long enough. Time for some action! Everybody except Link, get down and give me fifty push-ups!” Firost ordered. Unsurprisingly, his order was met with a chorus of groans and complaints, but still carried those orders and began doing the pushups. Link didn’t miss the way the cadets to his left and right were glaring at him. The Sergeant ignored the complaints, and looked at Link with that unnerving grin plastered on his face. “Oh, and Link? You’ll be doing one hundred push-ups.” There were several gasps coming from the other cadets. Link blinked. Had he heard right? “O-One hundred?” he stammered. “Yes. You see, Link, Your Majesty came to talk to me shortly after you enlisted. He told me about you and something that concerned her,” Firost began. “She said that she was afraid that, due to your friendship with the Princess, people may believe that you got a position in Hyrule's fine army thanks to nepotism. And we can’t have that, can we?” the bald man asked, and Link found himself dumbly shaking his head. “I’m glad you agree. So while these other worthless maggots will pass the training course as long as they do the bare minimum, the Queen demands nothing less than excellence from you. So you better get down and start doing one hundred push-ups!”

What It Means to be Chosen - Update
Chapter 6 is out! Here's a preview:
“Say, Zelda, would you like to go on a little vacation to the Lake Hylia palace this summer?” It was nighttime, and the two members of the royal family were having dinner alongside their bodyguards. Usually, while they waited for their dinner to arrive, Zelda would expect her mother to ask her about her daily lessons, so she couldn’t believe what she was hearing when she heard her mother asking her that. Was she really proposing to her to leave the castle? “Yes!” Zelda excitedly shouted, her voice startled Paya. She muttered an apology when she saw the disapproving look Mother was shooting at her. “Excellent. I think we’re all due a change of scenery, don’t you think?” the Queen suggested. “Though… are you okay with me coming?” Zelda felt that she was pressing her luck, but her innate curiosity got the best of her. “What about Lord Agahnim’s omen of doom?” “Ah, yes, about that,” Mother replied, looking a little… regretful? “Despite Lord Agahnim’s past record, perhaps I had put too much weight on such an ambiguous and imprecise prediction. So I told him that unless he can narrow it down what kind of danger he saw looming over you, I won’t keep you caged.” Zelda felt like she could fly “Oh, thank you Mother! Does this mean that I can leave the castle whenever I please?” The piercing glare the Queen shot at her daughter was enough of an answer. “I said I wouldn’t keep you here all the time, not that I’d give you free range to go wherever you please,” the Queen clarified. “The Summer Palace belongs to the Royal Family, so it’s also a very secure place to be. After that, we shall discuss appropriate and safe places to go for future excursions.” Oh well. Better take what little victory she could get and not press the topic any further, as she had another point to discuss. “Can Link come with us?” Zelda asked. Impa snorted rather loudly, which earned her another glare from Mother, but the bodyguard didn’t seem to care. “Heh, took her long enough to ask for her little friend.” “While I’m not against the idea of inviting your friend, it may not be that easy,” the Queen explained. “This isn’t like his weekly visits when he only comes a single afternoon. We will be there for two weeks, and Master Link has responsibilities at his home, such as helping his uncle run the blacksmith shop.” “We could give his uncle money for Link,” Zelda suggested. Another snort from Impa. “Princess, should I remind you that the laws of the Kingdom strictly forbid slavery? You can’t buy that boy, no matter how fond you are of him.” Zelda rolled her eyes at the older Sheikah’s annoyingly obtuse comment. “I obviously meant as a compensation for the work he would lose without Link there to help him. Then again, maybe he should get used to not having Link around, given that he will be joining the army in a few months,” Zelda huffed, crossing her arms. “Oh, and by the way, we’d be only renting Link, not buying him.”

What it Means to be Chosen - Update
Chapter 5 is out! Here's a little preview:
Princess Zelda hummed a merry melody as she walked towards one of the smaller dining rooms on the top floor (many people wrongly believed that the main dining hall was where the Royal Family had their meals; such a massive place was used for large feasts, not everyday meals), though rather than walking, she was practically skipping. Link had already left for his hometown more than an hour ago after spending the afternoon with her and Paya, an afternoon that was filled with fun as they always were when the boy in green paid a visit to the castle, and now, with the sun setting, it was time for dinner. The moment she approached the dining room, the Royal Guard standing outside nodded at her and opened the door, letting her and Paya in. As expected, Mother and Lady Impa were already at the table, Mother sitting at the head and Lady Impa to her left. “Good evening, Mother. Good night, Lady Impa,” Zelda cheerfully greeted as she took her usual seat at her mother’s left, with Paya sitting at her other side. She then inhaled deeply, letting the pleasant aroma of the food coming from the nearby kitchen delight her nostrils. “That smells so delicious! What are we having for dinner tonight?” “Roasted pheasant with apples and leek,” Mother answered. “It looks like somebody is in a good mood tonight, huh?” Impa asked, raising an eyebrow, but smiling nonetheless. “The Princess is always in a good mood whenever Link drops by,” Paya commented, unable to suppress a little giggle. “So it seems,” Mother agreed with her usual lack of enthusiasm. “Then again, even if I was skeptical at first, letting that boy come over to spend time with you has had an undeniable positive effect. No escape attempts in three months, and all your tutors have told me that your lessons are progressing at an outstanding pace.” Zelda couldn’t help but swell with pride. Getting compliments from Mother was a rare achievement. “Of course, Mother. Didn’t I promise you that I’d cease my escape attempts and work harder on my lessons as part of our deal?” The youngest girl at the table asked. “That, you did,” Mother conceded before looking at the Sheikah teen. “Lady Paya, you spend as much time in that boy’s company as my daughter. Does your opinion on him remain unchanged?” “Absolutely, your majesty. Link is both well behaved and an absolute sweetheart,” Paya said, much to the Princess’ gratitude. “I can’t imagine a better friend for the Princess.” “It seems like everybody here has nothing but nice things to say about that boy. He sounds so good,” Mother said, and Zelda didn’t like the way she sounded. “Almost too good to be true.” “Come on Your Majesty, do you think that boy might hide dark intentions?” Lady Impa asked. “All I say is that I believe I should make my own opinion on the boy,” Mother said, and her lips curved into an unnerving grin as she locked eyes with Zelda. “You know what? For his next visit, I think we should have lunch together. All five of us.” Zelda paled. “All five of us?” “Why yes. Besides, with how long he has been around you, I believe it is my duty as a mother to get to know the kind of company my daughter frequents,” Mother said.
