I found my old docs and fic ideas and found myself absolutely hooked again. I don't remember 100% where I was going with some of these, but with almost 30k words of notes and ideas and plots I'm probably going to polish some of these up again and post them.

So uh. Look forward to some new Arcana fics soonish I guess?

I had a whole Dresden-themed modern magic detectives AU written out and a variety of mermaid featured AUs. The modern magic detectives one is hefty cause it's a good fertile idea.

Also the Julian reversed ending swap AU where the MC took his place and made a deal with the Devil. I had expounded upon it in the tags in a post before and actually had a rough fic written up about it that I never posted. 😆

Hi and hello! My friends finally convinced me to post after months of being knee-deep in debt and I hope people will make time to read through. I am posting as the first-born child of a lower class family from the Philippines, both for my parents and my two siblings in school. Any amount will help us greatly.

As of last year, our family has fallen really deep in financial problems to the point that food and other amenities sometimes become unaffordable for a week.

My father (53) had developed long term chronic pain from a failed stroke treatment during the pandemic and is now a registered PWD. My mother (44) is a self-employed seamstress with slowly declining eyesight which we could not afford to get checked. I have two siblings both in school, with a brother (13) in highschool and a sister (21) in Veterinary Medicine college. I myself (24) recently graduated with my bachelor's, and eventually pushed through to apply for master's studies in Biology, hoping to finally get a better job soon.

Unfortunately, in order to graduate as soon as I can, I had to quit my job as a university researcher working with the Department of Health. I am currently looking for a scholarship to cover my own costs, but their funding will not be available until later this year. This country also provides little to no financial aid to its poor and disabled, and will not even provide jobs below the minimum wage even for people with college degrees.

Without a steady source of income, the bills for my tuition, siblings' educational needs, parent's medicine, and general utilities (food, water, electricity, etc.) had piled up. My father took in loans to keep us afloat but we have no pay this month or the next.

In this month and August alone, we are short on about 30,520 Philippine Peso (roughly 540.04 USD). This covers loan payments so banks don't come after us, miscellaneous school fees for my siblings and I, and bills to keep a roof over our heads.

one of the biggest things i believe to be true about relationships is that you must make it feel safe for the people you love to call you out on shit. like obviously don’t let anyone emotionally manipulate or terrorize you but in general, in healthy adult relationships, there is always a pattern of rupture/repair. someone does something (unintentionally!) that makes someone else feel not great, and it needs to be addressed. the best thing you can do to preserve and improve your interpersonal relationships is to be open to these conversations. you have to be able to hear how your words or actions have affected someone, even if it absolutely wasn’t your intention, and you have to be able to simply acknowledge and apologize. it doesn’t matter if you didn’t see it that way. someone you love did, and they care enough to tell you, and that’s a gift. be grateful for the opportunity to do better.

If you have a big, emotional, self hating meltdown every time someone tells you that you hurt them or crossed a boundary of theirs, then that means you're not a safe person to say no to - and that's something you need to work on. Even if you're genuinely just really upset that you hurt someone, if every attempt at communicating a boundary to you results in the person you hurt having to repeatedly reassure you that you're not actually a bad person, then you need to work on controlling yourself and taking constructive criticism.

Idk if yall are aware but Dorian changed The Arcana's description on Google Play and it's kinda bad and unnecessarily long. I also checked and for some reason, the arcana app on the app store still has the old(?) description, or maybe just a shorter version of the new one. idk idk

But THIS is the part that made me lose it. I don't wanna comment on this but I think yall can figure out yourselves what exactly is wrong with this bit💀

Here is a longer bit of the game's description for those who can't look it up. Looks like they are very heavily advertising on the whole "look all of our characters are queer!! wowza!!". It's also really weirdly worded and v ambiguous, kinda like those Dorian posts on The Arcana & Fictif Discord server.

I am almost 3 weeks post surgery and am finally getting to where I can sit up at my computer again.

Pain levels are so much better now, even with surgery swelling/bruising/pain.

I will hopefully be active again quite soon and get caught up on overdue things. 💖 Thank you for the patience.
