‘Bout time I got around to posting this-

We got six healthy chicken nuggets! In order from oldest to youngest we have-

Jovi: Female, March 11th

Halen: Male, March 12th:

Chili: Male, March 13th

Pepper: Female, March 13th

Fleetwood: Male, March 14th

Roxie: Female, March 16th

I will definitely be breaking into the daycare over the next week to see who opens their eyes first! I’ll try to get some better pictures of them later ‘cause these guys have some very pretty colorations and spots starting to come in that isn’t done justice under the heat lamps. Fleetwood has a very heavy melanin pigment and pepper is a reddish purple that seems to grow deeper each day.

I’m holding Roxie- I ended up giving her shell a little crack since she was struggling to get a start and she’s very reactive to my voice. Despite her late start she’s easily the chunkiest of all her siblings and a lovely rosey purple color with some larger splots of white. Don’t tell anyone but I definitely have a favorite <3

Two other eggs have hatched! They fully emerged within the same hour so we now have Chili and Pepper <3

Two eggs remain- one is about halfway hatched but this other guy hasn’t made much progress. They’re moving around in there, but I think I might have to give them a little help when I get back from my afternoon break.

I haven’t had to help a lot of eggs hatch, but if they haven’t made any breaks in the next few hours it might be best to give them a helping start!

Okay okay I’ve got some baby toxels to share!

These twin hatchers are Halen (left, male) and Jovi (right, female, likes to eat fingers). They both decided to start hatching earlier than any of us expected on the afternoon of the 8th- but Jovi didn’t fully come out of the egg until about ten that night. Halen fully hatched at about three the next morning- so Jovi gets a birthday all to herself!

There’s six eggs total in this clutch, only one other egg has started to hatch and they might be out within the next few hours. The other three are taking their sweet time but we do see them moving in there so maybe by tomorrow we’ll see some cracking.

Despite our worries these guys would be premature these two nuggets are perfectly healthy and as spicy as you can expect of a newborn toxel! They were just ready to take on the world, I guess. They’re all chubby cheeks and angry brows- start placing your bets on who opens their eyes first! My bets on Jovi, that girl is absolutely ready to see the world and take a bite out of it.

Okay so I may or may not have been taking it easy at work this week, and I may or may not have been stationed at route 5 and helping out the daycare the last few days.

And now there may or may not be a clutch of Toxel eggs getting ready to hatch later today!

Noticed a trend with a lot of my friends at school and wanted to ask

Did you or someone you know receive an unwanted Applin for Luvdisc Day?

The Atuun Dragon Sanctuary is currently running a special program to take in these Applin until we can find them new homes. Normally we don't do re-homing, as our sanctuary is intended to be a more permanent home, but due to the season we wanted to help out. If you surrender your Applin to us, you can rest assured it will receive a high level of care, and that we will carefully vet any potential adopters to make sure they go somewhere that can truly care for their needs. We don't want any Applin going neglected or released somewhere inappropriate.

Hey, since we’re talking about how you shouldn’t gift anyone a pokemon (especially if you aren’t explicitly sure they can provide the care they need) this holiday, let’s also remember to be careful that our little friends don’t get a hold of any candy or any plants you may be gifted or gift others!!

Many flowers used in bouquets this time of year are toxic to a lot of household pokemon! Like carnations, lilies, chrysanthemums, daisies, etc etc- it never hurts to research.

And if you get candy or any other treats, be careful to store them out of reach from your more curious ‘mons. A lot of sweets that we eat this holiday are very likely toxic to our pokemon, and too many ‘mons have to make an emergency trip to the pokemon center this time of year!

Marauder has some separation anxiety and basically anytime I take a shower I have to make sure he’s occupied with something or someone else, otherwise he’ll be whining at the bathroom door and trying to rip up the floor from its foundation cause I dared to close three inches of wood between us

Gigavolt Havoc - Say something about yourself or your pokémon that others usually find surprising!

Hmmmm that’s a bit tricky- I can’t be too sure.

I think most people see my ‘mons and I and expect us to be…. meaner? or just more harsh? Like- all my ‘mons are either massive or seen as “aggressive” or just not as understood well. And then I’m a tall, “rugged” ranger that doesn’t really smile a lot and whose built sturdy like a house foundation.

I’ve found that people just don’t expect me to be as nice and reserved as I am, and for my pokemon to be such sweet cuddle bugs <3

Subzero Slammer - Do you and your pokémon like the cold?

I’m from southern Unova, so I’m used to hot, humid summers and winters that get pretty cold. I honestly prefer chillier weather cause I can layer up and I run warmer than most people so it’s easy to be comfortable.

But all my ‘mons prefer warmer weather. They prefer spending the winter months back home, inside, all nice and warm!

Finally got my new uniform in! Ngl I think I like this vest more than Unova one

Alright, so first off- my favorite part of this new uniform is probably the pants! They have way more pockets than my Unova ones and are way more comfortable and breathable. Least favorite? When I first got my uniform they gave me this snapback hat that I honestly thought was tacky. I left it and decided to tie my hair back with some of the bandannas I have!

And going off of that, the ranger dress code isn’t really that strict. The only real rule for any ranger union is that you have to have a major article of clothing with that signature ‘ranger red’ on it. This is mostly for safety, so we’re visible from a distance, but also branding.

Otherwise the clothes just have to be outdoor approved, usually with breakaway buckles, plenty of pockets, and stuff that are just generally built for the outdoors. Ranger Unions usually have several types of fits for different purposes. There are seasonal uniforms for warmer and colder weather respectively, there are uniforms approved for going through caves or climbing cliffs, and there are casual options for local events and the like.

There’s been a few modifications to any given regions “style” over the years so there’s quite a few options you can pick out if you really want to customize. A bright red union approved vest/jacket is the only thing really required, otherwise you can customize with anything you think would make you the most comfortable in performing your job!

And sometimes Hibiscus will be eating from a tree and rip off a branch to give to me- and it’s not like it’ll kill me so I take a bite to make her happy and feel like she’s providing for her herd-
