it is startling how every mythology has parallels to different mythologies, but what surprised me the most that there's a similar parallel to sisyphus in india's malayalam folklore. this character is called 'naranth bhranthan' whose chief activity was rolling a big stone up a hill and then letting it fall back down.

i do not deserve a damnation, a salvation, a nirvana, an elevation, a moksha. i will roam around for a bit, meet people, pet dogs, live under trees, sing songs until there's nothing left to sing.
i have not looked around yet i talk of the beyond. i do not deserve the beyond.

potato-preparing the nibs
this process to prepare nibs basically removes the protective layer of oil from the calligraphy nibs. the oil causes the ink to not flow properly, so you make this potato satellite. (spudnik sweetheart <3)

every time this one man sang megh malhara from the roof of his house, the clouds would applaud and rain some love over the crops and the peacocks and the children who loved the rain back.
most of the people did appreciate in surprise, though the samkhya in them sought what raga was sung to the almighty. the yoga in them picked upon the calmness in his voice that they could put to use. the nyaya in them would always wonder, use logic, state the “why” and the vaisheshika in them would study the element of the rain. the mimansa in them had the texts of eternal truth that would guide you through the rain’s rituals, while the vedanta in them acknowledged the universe within themselves, within the song and the rain. the charvaka continued to sing. the crops continued to smile, and the children, the peafowls continued to dance.

birthday journal entry from 15.08.2020 • turning 20 • 20 things i learned :
there will never be a utopia. although the idea of utopia is subjective. the key is optimism.
media is only there to influence.
never get caught up in a bandwagon effect. never.
never stop educating yourself.
i like the word 'pacify'. reminds me of silence and oceans. and kierkegaard's discourse. this is why i aspire to be a librarian.
hear people out. they might know something that you do not.
write more. read more.
practice stoicism. prepare yourself for the worst. you're mortal.
make friends along the way.
retrieve yourself from consumerist culture.
maintain a journal.
keep a record of celestial events like meteor showers and comet sightings.
refrain from popularity.
pet dogs.
eat good food.
try to take in the news.
try to accrue and acquire all the nicomachean ethics.
gods (as we call them) might or might not be just.
the fabric of our experiences is different. so the way we all perceive things is different. to understand people, put yourself in their shoes.
art is good and all but i shouldn't have used red colour to draw the blushies. i look like a clown here. mum was wickedly right.
happy birthday, gaurang.
- gaurang.
