Come to think of it, although Munakata tend to act very mature, responsible, and seems very experienced I feel like most people forget that he's actually so young. In fact he's actually younger than Akiyama. I feel that he deserves more appreciation. Like, the amount of time this person save people's live. He saved Fushimi from the green king and created a place for him in S4, stopped suoh's sword from destroying and killing everyone to prevent tragedy of kagutsu from happening, saved anna & the others (kusanagi, yata, kuro, neko) from that lightning bolt jutsu.
Fushimi being so young also saved a lot of people to the point having to risk his life. When mizuchi (he was from gold clan right? ) the gold clan ask for his help (love how Munakata kind of brag that go and save the world, it was an order but somehow when reading it I can feel Munakata's fondness for Fushimi. He knows fushimi-kun will save the world) and of course his top secret mission of infiltrating jungle (come to think of it this was literally mean Fushimi walk straight to the den of someone who almost killed him, considering that he almost got killed by those people who play jungle mission when he was still a student).
I'm really glad munakata has someone like Fushimi who support him considering Munakata always seems to get dragged by the situation to clean up someone's mess. I'm also glad how munakata going extra miles (although he's always being extra lmao) to help Fushimi. Literally said it in front of kusanagi and suoh's face he want fushimj. In a way taking Fushimi too s4 also save Fushimi cause Mikoto's power frightened Fushimi. I think he said something on DoB about children can choose to abandon parents too (like damn that really hit the point, I wonder if munakata actually kind of get a gist of it about Fushimi's past considering how genius he is), saying smtg about building unbreakable sandcastle, said it to yata's face that "S4 can't let jungle do whatever they want. Fushimi is a member of S4. It's a mission that only he can do" (Munakata probably know that by saying that to yata's face, yata will tell that secret mission to kusanagi and Anna. And kusanagi will send yata to save Fushimi. Kusanagi may not be able to save Totsuka and suoh, but he can send yata to save fushimi. Not only because kusanagi is fine of Fushimi, but kusanagi know the pain of losing important friend), and of course he also send douhan to make sure she help fushimi. He also already prepared a video of explanation for everyone that fushimi is not a traitor in case he died.
Munakata gives off such old man vibes that it’s easy to forget he’s actually only in his early twenties. I kinda feel like that’s where some of his dork side comes into play too, like he’s always been mature even as a kid and so there are a lot of regular childhood things that Munakata finds new and fascinating. Those times seem to be when his younger side comes out, though being Munakata the way he phrases things makes it sound more like an old man discovering what the youngsters are into. I think even the members of S4 who are older than him often forget that fact, because Munakata just gives off this feeling of being very worldly and wise so it’s easy to overlook that he’s not that old himself and still running this major organization (though Habari was also only 25 when he died, apparently the Slate knows the proper age for anime protagonists and acts accordingly). It’s also interesting I think that to the actual members of S4 it’s like Munakata’s older but meanwhile it feels like all the politicians who deal with him see as this young upstart. It seems like a lot of the difference in how Munakata is perceived is how much someone believes in his mission, to his men who follow him he’s the shining beacon of wisdom who seems older than his years, while to the politicians who have to deal with him he’s this annoying brat who thinks too much of himself.
And I think because Munakata is young he doesn’t put a lot of store into age when it comes to recruiting members. A lot of Habari’s old people tried to come back to S4 and were rebuffed or offered low-level positions because Munakata had no use for them, and I’m sure some of them also thought of Munakata as this young brat (even though again, Habari was the same age). Fushimi is obviously the opposite of this, someone young and useful that Munakata picked himself, but I actually think Doumyouji is particularly interesting in this regard — his dad was in Habari’s S4 but when Munakata was recruiting people he went for Doumyouji-san’s teenage weirdo son instead. I think Munakata likes surrounding himself with people who he sees as being open-minded enough when it comes to age, that he can recruit anyone based on how useful they are over life experience. Fushimi still gets looked down on some for being young but I think him once being in Homra is really the bigger deal, especially since Fushimi shows how competent he is regardless of his age. And of course this goes back to again Munakata being able to show his unexpected side to Fushimi and honestly really even to his clan at large to an extent, while sometimes Munakata is their wise beyond his years leader he’s also someone who will see a new experience and his eyes will start shining like a child’s.

I wonder if there are any Batman comics or light novels that tell about the psychological effects experienced by Gotham residents because they feel threatened and insecure too often because there are too many crimes and unfairness there. So far, all the events that have happened in Gotham have only focused on the negative effects of crime that are visible on the surface, such as poverty, violence, or antipathy. But is there at least one media that depicts the symptoms of psychosis experienced by Gotham residents that occur even without interference from Scarecrow's poison or other villains'?
I happened to think about this because I myself can also get bloating/stomach aches that make me nauseous when I'm too anxious or too focused on my guilt. So it's as if what happens in my mind manifests in the form of a physical illness. I wonder, are there any Gotham City residents who experience the same thing? I'm pretty sure it must happen, but until now I haven't found any Batman media that discusses it.

"There's a thick wall surrounding Fushimi's heart, built from the beginning of his father's abuse on him. Polished by his mother's ignorance. Cracked and burnt down by his only friend's insensitiveness of his loneliness due to his friend's attachments to his King. And therefore made him unaware of his emotional rollercoaster because he trying to avoid to go deep within it.
Men aren't suppose to feel anything, to be controlled by it. And it's only logical for men to never touch it. Society said, and Fushimi listen to it despite not caring about almost anyone. And that only made his mind state worse.
But when the time is up, when he's ready, Fushimi will tell anyone special for him about his feelings. Crushing all the walls in his heart completely, once and for all. Talking, connecting, and do what makes him happy with those people without the need to let his guard up, or being shy of doing so."
- Thoughts about Fushimi.

Just gonna leave this here.
So I've made another Fairy Gone fanfiction in AO3. I've finished writing it long ago but only post it right now. Ik it's been a long time after Fairy Gone is ended, but if you're interested you can check this out!
Fate
Summary: Time stops when you have to hide and hide. Usually there are only two choices: run or stay silent. But when one person in the Albastora family decides to leave from his hiding place to help innocent people, in that moment he heals the wounds of his family. That's what Damien Carme, or Damien Albastora, did.

You’ve seen a family in a drama or movie where there are normal children whose parents are unsupportive, who belittle their children’s dreams, don’t care about their children’s feelings, and always want to control their children’s behavior. You thought that kind of family doesn’t exist, because usually the abuse is only physical. But years later, you realize that the same family portrayed in fictions is your own family.

I remember wondering why in the world Fushimi is scared of Mikoto when said person never harm him. Someone actually make a long explanation about it though that doesn't satisfy me. Now that I've read so many materials about psychology, I think I finally figure it out:
Mikoto is unpredictable. He didn't say much but he could utilize his power when needed, even if it endangered or possibly killing other people (at least from what I heard). Niki might've abused Fushimi, but he talked much and never actually kill a human being. And people cope differently from abuse and in Fushimi's case, Mikoto's unpredictability sets an alarm in his head, making him fear his previous king.
Any thoughts on this topic?

When it comes to relationships with family, friends, or colleagues, most people see only two options: keeping the bridge or burning it. Little do they know there’s a third option—blocking the bridge. Both sides can still see each other, and minimal damage is done. However, no one can come in or out; they can only observe from a distance, with a clear boundary set between them.

Finished watching Batman: The Long Halloween Part I and II and I can say that the art style is such an aesthetic! Not a big fan of the character design, but I love this along with the story. The suspense, the mystery, even a little bit of horror. Most of all I love the idea that Bruce's parents did a mistake with consequences he had to live with and making him questioned his own resolve. And the forbidden love between him and Falcone's daughter? Spicy! (And I know this also happened in the most recent The Batman movie so don't sue me).
Anyway, enjoy some screenshots I've taken from this movies!

Currently watching Gotham Knights series and I've been saying F U nonstop whenever I see Lincoln March bcs I know who he is in other Batman media. But I wonder why DC didn't use Thomas Wayne Jr. in the story, I think it'll be more spicy if they do.

I used to think that the main conflict in Eyeshield 21 is the talented vs the un-talented players. That's the topic the creators keep repeating and I wholly believed that. But now I begin to see it in new light because I keep remembering other characters' setback. Mizumachi not having a supportive friend in his previous swimming team, Kid who is trying to not fail in what he do, Sakuraba having to choose between having his celebrity career or being an American football player, Shin with his depression (in the manga), Bando Spiders is about to be disbanded and Yamato being treated unfairly by Mr. Don.
This isn't just about one person/one team fighting other person/team. Everyone is fighting their own battle, too. And just because I keep supporting Devil Bats doesn't necessarily mean I need to hate the other teams. (Though why some of them taunts the Bats over and over again despite knowing how much it hurts to be treated that way I have no idea).

Munakata as little Fushimi's adoptive father coming to pick him up from school. Fushimi must be so embarassed when Munakata shows up.
Imagining this as one of those AUs where Niki’s a Strain and S4 arrests him, and then Munakata promptly kidnaps adopts his child. Munakata wants to disrupt Fushimi’s life as little as possible so he decides that Fushimi can keep going to his old school, it’s not too far from S4 and Munakata can have someone drop him off and pick him up with a van every day. Fushimi probably gets this annoyed look and complains that he can walk himself, he thinks having a van pick him up would be even worse than walking on his own and anyway he always got himself to and from school on his own without help. Munakata gently says that he is aware Fushimi is an exceptional child but that Fushimi doesn’t need to do such things on his own now. Fushimi clicks his tongue disbelievingly, probably thinking that having the vans take him is Munakata’s way of offloading him onto subordinates anyway, it’s no different than when he was small and a maid would occasionally show up to get him.
So then imagine shortly after this conversation Fushimi leaves school one day and there’s no van waiting for him. He gives this bitter ‘heh,’ like it didn’t take long for them to forget about him, just as he expected. But then he hears a bit of commotion by the door and there’s Munakata in full uniform, smiling pleasantly as he says he thought that he and Fushimi could walk home together. The other kids and their parents are looking at Munakata in confusion and worry, like who is this weird sparkling guy in cosplay, who is he talking to. Fushimi decides to just pretend this isn’t happening and ignore Munakata but naturally Munakata keeps talking to him, moving so that he’s in Fushimi’s path as he’s like ‘shall we head home? Do you want to hold my hand?’. Fushimi very much does not want to hold Munakata’s hand but finally he’s like okay whatever you can walk me home let’s just leave. The whole way back to S4 Munakata is chatting to Fushimi, asking about his day and his classes and Fushimi keeps responding with short clipped answers, sulking the whole way home. But at the same time even though he’s annoyed he feels this strange floaty feeling in his chest too, like this is the first time anyone’s ever bothered to walk him home and care, who didn’t treat him like a chore or a toy, and even though it’s embarrassed maybe he doesn’t entirely hate it either.

He did have a picture of his ideal world in mind. A world that could gain peace while avoiding hurting people as much as possible or making them suffer was not too far fetched, and he wanted to become someone who would strive for such a world.

from your friendly neighborhood librarian:
all books are good books. you are not a “lesser reader” if you only read manga or comic books or a “better reader” for reading academic heavy texts.
reading is reading no matter what it is, be it a graphic novel, a romance, a classic, an audiobook, a picture book, a cookbook, fanfiction, fucking whatever, read what makes you happy
reading is supposed to be fun and don’t let elitism sap any joy out of it
