Strings of Fate: Chapter One (A Wish, A Prayer)
Adheera had finally managed to raid Velavan's house and confiscate the black money he had been hoarding. As such, he had allowed his brother to drag him to Thiruparankundram, the second most popular temple within Madurai.
"What are you still worrying about?" Arjuna asked, elbowing him, "You took him down, cheer up, Anna!"
"Not completely," he frowned, "He still had connections- and I bet his daughter knows them."
Vijay, his colleague, childhood friend, and- more recently- his sister's fiancé, shook his head. "What are you thinking, Dheera?"
Adheera was pushed forward to the main sanidhi of Kalyaana Murugan, Theivaanai and Naarada at his feet, Suryan and Chandiran above his head. He spied Meenatchi, the best friend of Velavan's daughter a few feet away from him. Perfect. Now he could put his plan into action.
"Aiyanne!" He cried loudly, "Kandanukku Arogara! Please, by some miracle, marry me to Iniyanila Velavan."
Vijay and Arjuna looked at him with equally shocked expressions. He saw Meenatchi's eyes widen in shock.
"Anna?!"
"Relax," he said, bringing his voice back down so only his brother and Vijay could hear. "Iniyanila was doted on by her father- she will not pass up an opportunity to manipulate me into loving her and then having her revenge. Except, she will be walking straight into our trap."
While Vijay relaxed, Arjuna looked troubled.
"What is it, Thambi?"
"Anna, we're in Thiruparankundram- where Lord Muruga married Theivaanai." He said, exasperated.
"So?"
"Any wish for marriage spoken aloud here is instantly fulfilled by him!"
Adheera rolled his eyes and shook his head. He did not really believe in superstitions like that, but Arjuna was convinced. His plan was flawless. Meenatchi would surely tell Iniyanila, and she would take the bait to try and get revenge. Then he could get the information on Velavan's remaining Bosco money from her.
He wasn't going to marry her! Arjuna was simply being ridiculous. Surely, Lord Muruga would not bother to fulfill EVERY wedding wish made in his first house of marriage... right?

So cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chinnanjiru Nilave
Dedicating this to @sowlspace, who had practically adopted Deiva at this point.
A small companion story to Shivaa
The day Karikalan first held his daughter in his arms was one of the only times he had cried.
"You have a lovely baby girl, Arase." The midwife had told him before placing her in his arms.
His sweet Deivathirumagal as she had been named only a short while later. Her face, small and pink, had glowed like the moon. He felt like Chandra had blessed him with his soft rays when she feebly opened her eyes to look at him. His darling!
The months that passed only served to make him fall deeper in love with her. And just like the moon, she revolved around him as though he were her whole world. Karikalan never hesitated to indulge in her either, enraptured by the tiny miracle he and Nandhini had somehow created.
"I love you." He whispered, brushing his nose against hers.
Deiva giggled and began to babble incoherently, placing her small hands on either side of his face. He nodded as though he understood what she was saying, earning a laugh from Nandini.
"I do know what she's saying!" He insisted, smiling when she planted a wet kiss on him. "She's saying, 'I love you too, Appa."
Nandini shook her head, although she smiled in spite of herself. Deiva rested her head against his chest, her tiny bangles and miniature anklets jingling pleasantly.
"Now she's saying she's sleepy." He said, taking her to the balcony while rocking her. "Look, Nila," he said, using his own nickname for his moon-like daughter. He pointed at the moon. "It's you!"
She smiled a toothless smile, letting herself be lulled to sleep.
"It's still not as bright or pleasing as you." He whispered, "Yen Nilave, Yen Kutti Nila... go to sleep, Chinnanjiru Nilave."

Kaavyam: Chapter Two (Teaser)
"Perhaps we can distract everyone with another wedding... mine, maybe." she mused.
One of her Anna's friends had had their eye on her. What was his name again? Prakash? She was ashamed that her mind had thought of Varun first.
“Then you finally accept your love for Varun?” Aakash looked at Kaamaakshi with a raised eyebrow.
“V-Varun? What?” She blushed. How did he know?
"Everyone knows, Kaamu." He said, biting into his pancake again. "Gods, you two are nearly as obvious as Vishva and Jeevika..."

Why do have to make me sad all the time? 😞
Jewellery - Arm Cuffs
@ragkee you asked for it
Remember, when talking to Parthibendran, AK asks if he saw the "Pazhavur Naga Pambu"? Or in the other words, "The mystical snake of Pazhavur".
One of his two most prominent pieces of jewellery is his tiger tooth neck necklace, because he's the Chozha Prince.
The second-

Snake or not, Nandhini is his. She is still an integral part of him and will be until the Sai he dies.
Thoughts?

Jewellery - Earrings
At first, at Kadambur, I thought Nandhini was wearing peacock earrings- but now I'm thinking it is an annam.
LOOK
Nandhini at Kadambur

Typical Annam Design

Chances are, I'm looking too much into this, and it might not be, but it could VERY WELL STILL BE ONE.
Anname, raththamum oindadhadi.
(My dear Annam, my blood has stopped flowing)
It's funny how she wore those earrings during his death- when his blood LITERALLY stopped flowing.
Thoughts?

On it 🫡
Finally making an appreciation post for my Love.
My seetha. And her love for her Ram.

She deserves best. She deserves her Ram. She was always there for him when no one else was. She waited for him she always did.she always was there to support him. She loved him and deserved him as much as he deserved her.
She waited for him to return back to her. She was there for her Ram being his mentor, his anchor, his strength in his hardest times. Being his only and only. Dedicated to him through her soul. Staying by his side through day and night praying for his well being. Even though not physically but mentally and emotionally.
They were apart distances grew them apart but their soul mended them together their heart bind them together and When Ram was on the verge of falling apart there was seetha to hold him .
To support him, To care for him, To love him,To help him fight with the demons inside his head, To control him when his guilt starts to strangle him.
I love her so much, I don't know why people hate her but I adore her and Ram with the core of my heart they are my babies i am a hard-core shipper of them. They live rent free inside my head.
Seetha can't exist without her Ram and same goes for Ram. He couldn't be able to survive without his seetha. Afterall she was the only one he got in the end. And his heart craved only her not anyone else.
she was ready to wait her whole life for him. But she would never go with another man. She could have married anyone else and grew a family but she didn't knowing Her Ram needed her. She was the only one he had and she loved him way too much to go to another man.
She was pure. She was divine she was his and will always going to be his.
An absolute serene beauty her calm and composed nature matching with his fierceness. She held him and she always will.
To My loves Ram and seetha. I love you both so much.
You both are my babies no matter what anyone else says I love you both so much. And i always will.
Yesss yesss yesss i love them I love them so much like i can't even think of anything else beside them. !!!!!!!!!!

Shivaa: Chapter Three (A New Friend)
"Appaaa!" Deiva whined, trailing behind him. "Pleeease, can you take me on your horse?"
Karikalan stopped in his tracks, looking back at his daughter. "I'm sorry, Chellame, but Appa is busy right now."
"You're always busy." She pouted, fisting the bottom of his upper garment.
He sighed and picked her up in his arms, bumping his nose against hers. Deiva giggled, grabbing his face in her small hands and brushing her lips across his cheek. Karikalan allowed himself a small smile.
"Kodambalur Chitti has gone to visit Amma. Why don't you go spend some time with the two of them?" he said, gently setting her down again.
"Fine." she agreed sadly. "Appa will come to me later?"
He looked at her wearily, hesitating. "I- I don't know, kanmani. Go on, I will see what I can do."
Deiva had learned by now that that meant no.
...
"So why did you come to Kaanchi?" Nandhini asked, propping herself up in her bed. She accepted a dosage of herbal medicine from the Vaithyar, downing it quickly.
"I just... I needed a breather." Vanathi said, curling up beside Nandhini, who calmly stroked her hair.
"Arulmozhi?"
Her silence was enough of an answer for her.
Deiva ran in a few minutes later, climbing into Nandhini's arms and cuddling there. Nandhini balanced her so that her womb was not hurt.
"Akka, how can I marry him if he himself does not want it?" she asked, smiling softly at Deiva.
"It's not that he doesn't want it," she said thoughtfully, "He's in denial. That's all. Deiva, kanne, do you want to talk to your Chitti."
She shook her head and buried her face in her mother's chest, turning away from Vanathi. Nandhini sighed, looking apologetically at Vanathi.
"I'm sorry, Karikalar probably said something, that's all."
"It's okay." Vanathi said, tapping Deiva's elbow. "I guess Ponniyin Selvar isn't the only brother who has trouble seeing the love in front of him."
Deiva brightened considerably at the mention of her Chittappa, a wide smile gracing her face. Vanathi noticed that she looked much like her mother, but she supposed that the eyes were from Aditha Karikalan.
"You saw Chittappa?" she asked excitedly, "Chittappa rarely comes to Kaanchi anymore, he's always busy in Thanjai."
"Well then, I shall talk to Kundavai Akka about telling Ponniyin Selvar to visit his adorable marumagal more often." she cooed, feeling a twang in her heart when she thought about him.
The love for him was still there, but the flower that had bloomed when she had first seen him had grown weary and melancholy after facing the harsh storms and droughts. It would never die, that much she knew. Still, the roots had somehow burrowed deeper into her heart in an effort to sustain itself, but it had begun to choke Vanathi in the process.
"Are you okay, Chitti?" Deiva asked softly, reaching out a hand to brush away a stray tear.
Nandhini released her hold on her daughter, allowing her to go to Vanathi. She gave the young girl an encouraging nod.
Deiva hugged Vanathi tightly, squeezing her eyes shut in concentration.
"What are you doing, kanne?" Vanathi asked.
"I'm transferring some of my happiness to you." she whispered, "Amma says that's not really possible, but Appa says I can. I trust Appa."
Vanathi's heart warmed slightly, for the first time in a long while. She hugged the small child back, kissing the side of her head.
"I think your Appa is right."

Amazing 🤩 but also sad 😞
Anaadhai: Pazhavur Ilaya Raani
Had it not been for Ravidasan’s trust in her, Nandhini would be dead right now, burning away with Veera Pandiyan’s body.
“I did not save you for you.” he whispered in her ear. “I saved you because no daughter deserves to burn away with their father as their wife.”
Nandhini once again found herself cursing fate for the cruel twists in her life. Had the Mandakini he’d spoken of been the woman she saw in her room on the nights she could not go to her mother? The one she saw more and more of these days when she looked in the mirror?
Before she had time to reply, she heard a rustling in the trees. The Pandiyas scattered, leaving behind only the smoke and Nandhini. A horse, carrying a strong and handsome man. He paused when he saw her.
"Who are you, Devi?" He questioned, circling her.
"I am an orphan, Aiya. Who might you be?"
He straightened up. "Periya Pazhuvettarayar, the King of Pazhavur."
King of Pazhavur… this was Karikalan’s Thatha! Her heart beat harder in her chest.
"I should not even be speaking to you, Aiya."
"Nonsense. A woman as beautiful as you deserves to be a queen… will you be mine?"
Nandhini felt disgusted. He was nearly three times her age and he wanted to marry her? Still, she recalled her vow to use her beauty to avenge the death of Veera Pandiyan. Surely, Karikalan would visit his grandfather, wouldn't it be easier to kill him then?
"Would you really take this orphan as your wife?" She asked, swallowing the rising bile.
Lust clouded his eyes as he looked at her body. "Without a doubt."
True to his word, he married her with a grand procession and Nandhini thanked fate for the first time in years. Karikalan had not come to her wedding. If he had, she feared that she would have run to him immediately.
Terror seized her heart when Pazhuvettarayar locked the door and began to undress. "Lord, no! I am observing a poojai as of now, I can not be with you physically."
To Nandini's relief, he had left the topic alone for now, though it was clear he was not going to leave the matter behind. She had cried herself to sleep that night. How had she ended up here? From being the separated lover of Aditha Karikalan to the ninth wife of Periya Pazhuvettarayar?
What had become of her family? Of her village? If the niece or nephew she would never meet? Of the brother who had cared for her more than life itself?
'I have failed them all," she thought numbly.
Nandini's brief fortune disappeared within a few months when the man who had married her brought her to Kaanchi to see Aditha Karikalan be crowned as crown prince. She saw his eyes light up when he saw her, his body swaying slightly. Their eyes met and Nandhini cursed herself for melting at the love in them still.
The moment was broken by the scream of Sundara Chozhan as he fainted. Nandhini briefly wondered if it was for the same reason that Veera Pandiyan had fallen for her.
She saw Kundavai whisper something to him and saw his gaze shatter. She moved closer to Periya Pazhuvettarayar.
He knew. She could tell by the strangled cry that he emitted, so quiet, but she always heard him.
Really, Nandhini should have expected that he would come to see her.
"Congratulations on your coronation, Lord." She said, her heart hammering in her chest.
"How could you-" he broke off, eyes locked on the thaali around her neck.
Everything was a blur after that. He had begged her to run away with him, reminding her of everything they had once shared. For one horrible moment, she felt the need to make it a reality. She imposed horrible conditions on him. Kill Pazhuvettarayar, imprison his family, marry her and make her queen. A horrendous and cruel laugh escaped her throat. This would end one of two ways now. Either, lost in his obsession with her, he would follow her command. If not, he would kill her instead out of anger for threatening her family.
Of course her fate would not make her life so easy and Karikalan turned and left. No one died then.
That night, for the first time in years, Nandhini saw a silhouette by her bedside. Was it her mother? The mute woman who had watched over her every day when she was a child? Had she come to save her daughter from the clutches of the lustful Pazhuvettarayar?
No. When the hazy image came into focus, Veerapandiyan’s eyes stared back at her, lustful as ever.
“Why did you leave me, Nandhini?” he whispered, inching closer.
“Go away!” she shouted, “You’re dead, do not come to haunt me now!”
But Veerapandiyan was as insistent in death as he was in life, and he refused. He accused her of marrying the enemy, of loving the man who had brutally murdered him. She was his, he claimed. Nandhini didn’t want to be his. She didn’t want to be Pazhavettarayar's, she didn’t even want to be Karikalan’s! She just wanted to go back to being the girl who would string flowers for Krishna and whisper secrets to his statue.
She sobbed every time he inched closer.
“I will avenge your death!” she promised, “That is what I have come here to do! Then you will leave me alone, right, my love? Please tell me that you will move on from this wretched girl!”
“Do that,” he agreed, “And I will take you to my seat in heaven and crown you queen there.”
Nandhini despaired. Was there no escaping from him? Where was Karikalan when she needed him?
‘He’s never there.’ her mind supplied helpfully, ‘Not when his family chased you out of the kingdom. Not when Veerapandiyan harassed you. Not when the Pandiya Abathudavigal threatened to burn you. Not when Pazhuvettarayar married you. So why would he be here now?’
Her life became a continuous cycle of torture. Her days were filled with Pazhuvettarayar trying to seduce her into bed, and her nights tormented by Veerapandiyan’s ghost inviting her to join him in death. Krishna! Why did all these older men desire her? Was she good for nothing other than her beauty, which had caught the eyes of so many men?
One such night of nightmares was interrupted by the arrival of Ravidasan who sought to kill her for abandoning them. Despite wishing for death, she refused to die at their hands. What if they delivered her to their deceased king?
“I have married him to help you!” she cried desperately. “Do not think I have forgotten our oath!”
Bless him, for some reason, he believed her and Nandhini lived to see another lust-filled day.
Years she spent manipulating Madhuranthakan and starting scandals. Each move was calculated to make Karikalan despise her more, to make him hate everything she stood for. But the Pandiyas were getting impatient. They wanted their revenge.
She no longer had time to lament over the state of her life. She had to kill him soon. So then she wrote the dreaded letter inviting him to Kadambur Maaligai.
