what's the gossip with NPMD characters being butchered? as someone who never saw the digitial ticket and wasn't around then I'm curious as to how everyones pov of them might have changed?

Basically watering them down and having their fanon versions be more popular than canon

I think Richie is the worst of the NPMD cast, as he's been watered down to a uwu autism boy 👉👈 who can do nothing wrong. Richie is literally a walking, annoying, gross anime lover stereotype. This anime weeb owns bodypillows, calls Steph a waifu, happily photoshopped Ruth's photo to be more sexy, and is literally just,,,,, as horny and annoying as the rest of them

Some shipping might be the reason he's not really what he's in canon, but I'm not gonna point fingers as I was an autistic teenage girl once too

Ruth is also another good example, as people take away her hornyness so often I don't see that core part of her being talked about ever

All of this probably happened cause NPMD escaped the Starkid fandom containment and became another popular internet thing everyone was recommending people to watch, but I don't like being gatekeepy,,,

Like I said before, it's ok to reject canon, but pretending it doesn't exist is wrong
