I wrote some poems!!

last year I wrote one for On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness, this year I wrote one for North or be Eaten, let's see how long it takes until I write one for The Monster in the Hollows...

Lost and Lone

Trees, very many trees. My castle has never been more shrouded by leaves. Oskar says it's been years, maybe he has seen death and life again.

To die in peace and without regret.

Young Esben (though he likes tink) is afraid of heights, he doesnt like my castle.

Too high, he's gone awry, the day he died, I tried, I swear I did, I did.

It's not my fault if lost or broken, you're mistaken, I'll take it, you left it, no remorse for the horse stuck in a stable.

Janner wing must bring little princess, she will sing to heart, never asked to be set apart.

Throne and war are our burden, but not of hurting, knowing, to protect, keep watchful eye, I see, even if I leave them be, don't leave me.

Leeli treats me well, I tell, she likes my castle fine, that's good, she should, it's hers, or will be, should it leave me, or I, it. If it burns she never learns, I'll build a new, I always do.

Goodbye, hello, be fast or slow, don't stop, you know, I'll see you all tomorrow.

Out at Sea

Life in my castle was lovely, - not sad, not so bad, - surrounded by those who say they love me, - but it all had to die, it all went awry, the day he died, so far from my castle am I.

From my charges I am pulled, I have not a sword to hold, but I'm sure the young Warden shall stand and be bold, all those before him shall tremble, I'm sure.

They all cower in their corner, in the dark before a solemn mourner, who shall not have a thing to say, as he leaves his life of rot and decay, so on this day he walks not toward her, oh Warden.

Beasts they were, with thoughtful eyes, though I must admit it was no surprise, to see keeper and stone on such close isles, and North they march, into frozen fire.

I was mistaken, foolish and young, so was he and what is done is now done, though the change can be fruitful, its roots must run deep, a coward must choose to be brave and not meek, it is true that my name is now what I speak.

I must never forget, - it was I, by the makers hand - who could split - and splinter the cage in which I sit.

And so, like a bird, I fly and I'm free, I know something dark at the shore waits for me, across the blanket of ice I touch not with my feet, I fly to my terrified family at the sea, I wield sword, I'm a shield, for a young, precious three, that is what I would call true poetry.
