How Not to Fall in Love
#10 Do not tuck her hair behind her ears.
It’s innocent, at first. Just a reflex, a simple gesture—brushing back the strands the wind carelessly misplaced. But the moment your fingers graze her skin, something shifts.
You’ll notice the warmth of her cheek, the way she stills under your touch. The way her breath catches, just for a second. And worse—the way yours does too.
It’s never just about her hair. It’s about how close you suddenly are. How easy it is to touch her. How natural it feels, like you’ve done it a thousand times before.
So if the wind tangles her hair, let it. Because the second you smooth it away, you won’t stop at just her hair.
And then, you’re hers.

How Not to Fall in Love
#6 Do not even think to write a poem about her.
The moment you put her into words, it’s over.
At first, it’s just a passing thought—an urge to capture the way she moves, the way she lingers in your mind like an unfinished sentence. But then you pick up a pen. Just one line, you tell yourself. Just one metaphor.
But one line turns into two. Then a stanza. Then a flood.
Suddenly, she is ink on your fingertips, rhythm in your heartbeat, the muse behind every unfinished verse. And the worst part? Poems live forever. Long after she’s gone, long after her voice is a memory, her name will still echo between the lines you wrote.
And one day, you’ll come across those words again. Maybe tucked in an old notebook, maybe in the quiet of a sleepless night. And you’ll realize—you never really stopped writing about her.
So if you really don’t want to fall in love—do not even think to write a poem about her. Because once you do, she will exist in every word you’ll ever write.

How Not to Fall in Love
#9 If she makes the unknown feel familiar—run.
Strangers should feel like strangers. New places should unsettle you, unfamiliar hands should feel foreign in yours. That’s how it’s supposed to be.
But then there’s her. And suddenly, a place you’ve never been feels like a home you forgot. Words you’ve never said sit on your tongue like they’ve always belonged there. Even silence isn’t empty—it’s a memory waiting to be made.
It’s not magic. It’s not chance. It’s a soul recognizing its own. And once you find home, you won’t want to leave.
So if she makes the unfamiliar feel like déjà vu—run. Or don’t. Either way, you’ll never be a stranger again.

How Not to Fall in Love
#8 If time moves slower with her — run.
There’s danger in the way the clock bends when she’s near. Minutes stretch like honey, hours dissolve like smoke. You’ll sit beside her and swear the earth forgot to spin.
Conversations that last all night will feel like they only just began. Her laughter will echo long after she’s gone, lingering like perfume on your skin. And you’ll crave that slowness—like an addict craving their next hit.
Because when time slows down, it’s not a blessing. It’s a warning. It means your heart already knows: this is the moment you’ll measure all the rest against.
So if you feel the world pause when she’s beside you—run. Because if you stay, you’ll never want time to move again.

How Not to Fall in Love
#7 Do not let her ruin the rain.
Some people find comfort in the rain. The steady rhythm, the smell of earth after the storm, the way the world slows down. But if you let her in, the rain will never be the same.
You’ll remember the way she shivered when the wind picked up, the way she laughed when a raindrop landed on her nose. You’ll think about the time you both ran for cover, drenched, breathless, smiling.
And suddenly, the rain won’t just be rain anymore. It’ll be her.
Even years later, when the sky darkens and the first drop lands on your skin, you’ll feel it—the memory, the ache, the ghost of her in every storm.
So if you really don’t want to fall in love—don’t let her ruin the rain. Because once she does, even the weather won’t let you forget her

How Not to Fall in Love
#5 Do not let her touch linger A touch is just a touch—until it isn’t. Until it stays long after it’s gone.
At first, it’s nothing. A brush of fingertips, an accidental graze, a casual tap on your shoulder. But then your skin starts remembering. The warmth, the weight, the way her presence feels even in the smallest of gestures
You’ll catch yourself waiting for it. Wondering if she notices how easily her hand fits in yours, how naturally your arms find their way around each other. You’ll start craving the reassurance of a simple touch, thinking about the way her fingers trailed absentmindedly across your wrist like they belonged there.
And one day, when the space beside you is empty, you’ll feel it—the absence. The ghost of a touch that was never meant to stay.
So if you really don’t want to fall in love—pull away first. Before it’s too late. Before you realize some touches don’t just linger on your skin. They stay in your soul.

How Not to Fall in Love
#4 Do not listen to her music recommendation It starts with a simple suggestion. “You’ll love this song,” she says, and maybe you think nothing of it. Just a song. Just a few minutes of melody and lyrics. But it’s never just a song. Because the moment you press play, you’re hearing the world the way she does. You’re stepping inside her mind, feeling what she feels. The song is soft where she is soft, loud where she is wild, aching where she is human. And before you realize it, you’re listening again. Soon, it’s on your playlist. You hum it without thinking. And one day, when she’s no longer there, the song still is. Playing in a random café. On someone else’s speaker. Through your own headphones when you forgot to skip it. And that’s when you’ll feel it—the way a song can carry a ghost. The way her voice lingers in every note. The way you’ll never be able to unhear her in it. So if you really don’t want to fall in love—do not listen to her music recommendation. Because once you do, she becomes a melody you can never turn off.

How Not to Fall in Love
#3 Do not remember the little things. The way she her raise her eye brows up and down when she greets you. The way she tucks her hair when she’s thinking. The way her fingers absentmindedly trace the rim of her coffee cup. The moment her voice softens when she calls your name. These simple little details that will ruin you. You’ll start noticing it everywhere. You’ll start craving it – seeing her hair floating in the wind. Hearing her in a song you weren’t even paying attention to. You will start to memorize the tiniest tilt of her head when she’s amused, the exact shade of warmth in her smile and the hue of color blue in her eyes. And that’s dangerous. Because once you start to remember the little things, you’ll be amused that they were never little at all. They were everything. And if you truly don’t want to fall in love – forget. Forget it all. Or at least try helplessly

How Not to Fall in Love
#2 Do not listen to her laugh.
You might wonder what is that sound, a passing melody underneath the sun in the background of an ordinary day. But you gravely mistaken, It sneaks upon you – soft at first, like a breeze touching the wind chime, then bursting into something uncontainable and something yellow. It echoes in your head long after she's gone, it keeps playing and playing at the most inconvenient moments. Then you’ll start to wait for it, crave it, like the song from your childhood memories that you can find the name of. You’ll start to make stupid jokes just to hear it again. And it is not even the worst part! Even the silence will make you remind of it. So again, if you’re serious about not falling in love dear friend – at any cost, do not listen to her laugh. Because if you do, you’ll spend forever trying to hear it once more.

How not to fall in love
#1 Do not look into her eyes. Well, maybe the first thing to do is not to look deeply into her eyes. Those light brown eyes that make you wonder every night. I know, it's captivating. Each gaze, every fleeting moment when your eyes lock within the void that separates you. Why does the intoxicating amount of time feel so satisfying yet not enough? I tried to answer this question yet I conclude nothing. The void inside you lights up when those eyes gaze back at you. Like I said, at any cost, do not look into those eyes. You'll end up writing hundreds of poems about them, just as I did. You'll exhaust every adjective trying to describe them. In the end, you will realize that even words are no longer sufficient. As you find yourself in the midst of writing the last poem about those eyes, a smile will grace your lips, and you'll marvel, how can I not fall in love with those.
