Artfight has been down for most of the day, so I've decided to take this time experimenting with other forms of shading. My favorite game is The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask and I love the artwork that was used for the game's promotional material. I especially liked the use of solid black for shading that matched the game's darker tone.
Here's my attempt at replicating that with my oc Basil (who you can find on my Artfight page if it actually loads). Hopefully Artfight will come back soon.

Lore of Tellus Two: Planetary Energy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's been a while since I've posted anything in regard to my series so I decided to further explain the power system within this world as a continuation of my last lore dump. Once again I'm not the best writer so forgive me if things get a little confusing lol.
Keep reading if you'd like more details for each panel as well as in-depth explanations on the specifics of each type of power.
Panel One: "On Tellus, every life has an intrinsic connection to the planet itself. The Planet's energy makes up the very soul of every living thing"
The main setting of this series is on a planet named Tellus. The people of Tellus revere the Planet as their creator (hence the capital "P" whenever referring to Tellus as "the Planet"). They believe that all life comes from the Planet, and all life returns to it upon death.
Tellus radiates a special kind of energy that exists within all living things who call it home. This energy is believed to manifest itself as an individual's soul.
Panel Two: "This lifeforce can be harnessed and materialized by its owner for a plethora of uses. As the people of Tellus honed their power and deepened their understanding of this lifeforce, they named it "Planetary Energy" (PE)"
Since before recorded history, the people of Tellus had found a way to materialize their own souls for several purposes. In ancient times, individuals had given this lifeforce many names. But in the modern era, masters and scholars across the globe have settled on the name "Planetary Energy" or "PE" in honor of its source.
Panel Three: "Planetary Energy stems from the soul itself, so it is a reflection of humanity. Because of this, it comes in several varieties that reflect aspects of life on Tellus. While about half of PE users lack a specific aspect within their energy, some users are born with an inherent connection to one of ten unique forms, each tied to a certain color of light."
Since the soul comes from the Planet and it's energy, this energy is directly tied 10 aspects of humanity. As shown with the images below, these are Harmony, Instinct, Pride, Willpower, Justice, Independence, Passion, Truth, Unity, and Control. While these exist in every person on Tellus, some Planetary Energy users have a strong sense for one of the ten in specific. This manifests by changing the color of individual's PE. (Example: Someone with red PE is attuned to Justice). Those who are not attuned to any aspect have what is called "Clear Energy" or "Basic Energy".
An individual is born with a certain type of PE, this cannot be changed. It seems that an individual's PE can be inherited from their parents, but it's not uncommon for a child to have a completely different type from their parents. There are also individuals who seem to lack the ability to physically manifest their PE despite every living thing having it within their soul. The people are referred to by the term "Low Energy".
Below are in-depth explanations of all eleven PE types and their associated colors. They arranged from most common to least common Planetary Energy types.

With the recent passing of Akira Toriyama, I felt like blogging my thoughts and paying my respects before trying to head to bed.
It was beyond shocking and saddening to hear the news of his passing, Akira Toriyama was genuinely my biggest inspiration when it comes to art and storytelling. I like many others, grew up with the Dragon Ball series in particular (if it wasn't obvious where some of inspiration for my OC art and worldbuilding comes from). Literally, a significant amount of my earliest memories are directly tied to Dragon Ball. He made my childhood and I imagine thousands if not millions can say the same.
His work had a unique charm that had such a meaningful impact on my imagination as a child that has continued to inspire the art I make til this day. I truly don’t think there will ever be someone who can bring joy to so many people across all generations like he could. Rest in peace to a legend and may your legacy continue to inspire artists forever.

OC: Artis
Here is the the final member of the main trio of protagonists for "Tellus: The World of Colors". This might be the last one for a while.
Artis's existence as a whole is an enigma. As far as he is able to remember, he has spent the last 16 years alone in a mysterious inpenetrable bunker filled with incredibly advanced technology which have been able to sustain, raise, and educate the young man. While he has been able survive under these conditions, the isolation has created a longing for purpose, connection, and answers.
Years of limited exploration and research within the cold, metallic walls of his home has only left him with hints of his identity and his people for the most part. The only thing he knows for certain is that "Triplicata" is the name of his home world, a place described as a utopia by the Triplicatans that lived there until a great catastrophe. As for the fate of the planet and if he would ever be able to return are unknown.
As for his name, "Artis" is what the artificial intelligence that essentially raised him refers to him, perhaps its programming is the only thing that his parents were able to leave for him, some way to look out for him posthumously. Perhaps this AI would've been the only connection he would make if it wasn't for a peculiar, spiky-haired boy who somehow found a way in.
Artis was more than ready to accept his fate of isolation before meeting Basil, and sometimes he may even miss the simplicity of his old life over the misadventures his new companion gets them into, but nothing compares to the new experiences he's able live through on the surface. His biggest interest has to be the weaponry of Tellus, and lucky for him, one of the greatest blacksmiths to ever lived has decided to take him under his wing along with his new friend.
Perhaps journeying with Basil and the master's granddaughter will help him find his purpose in life on a planet far from home.

OC: Ferris Forte-Gallium
Here's another OC post for "Tellus: The World of Colors". Here is who can be considered the deuteragonist of this series.
Ferris is the adoptive granddaughter of the renown martial artist Eben Gallium, and much like him, an incredible fighter. Having been raised by her grandfather for the last 12 years after the death of her mother and disappearance of her father, she was brought up to be and fierce but kind hearted warrior who's quite proficient at using the White Planetary Energy of Harmony. Despite only being 15-years-old, her skill outclasses fighter several times her age and size.
There's nothing Ferris cares about more than trying to put a smile of the faces of those around her (although fighting for sport/fun is a close second place). This however can get her into trouble if she tries too hard to be a people pleaser. Other than that she loves to meet new people, discover new places, and try new foods.
Ferris is quite unique due to having both Oread and Coulronese heritage. However, this has caused some issues with her sense of identity. Having lived in the Nation of Ore with Eben for most of her life she's more than familiar with her mother's culture, but her clothing and face markings are all she really has in regard to understanding her father and his people.
When Artis and Basil are suddenly introduced into her life, Ferris is more than happy to welcome them into their home and to assist her grandfather in training Basil how to harness the power of Planetary Energy and teaching Artis the ways of blacksmithing. Along with her two new friends, Ferris in for quite the journey of self-discovery.

OC: Basil Aoki
It's been awhile since I've posted anything here so I figured it'd be best to show off who would essentially be the main protagonist of the series of art I've been calling "Tellus: The World of Colors".
Basil is a 15-year-old boy from an isolated archipelago on the planet Tellus. Orphaned as an infant, he was raised by a band of thieves who steal from the upper class to "spread the wealth" amongst their community as opposed to solely selfish reasons. Despite being the youngest member, he is one of their most capable due to his incredible dexterity, agility, and ability to adapt on the fly.
With a strong love of freedom the only thing Basil hates is oppression. While not necessarily heroic in the classical sense, Basil is willing to help out those in need if they happen to cross his path. Tie that in with his headstrong nature, and he can be quite the thorn in the side of those who stand in the way of peace and happiness for himself and others.
Basil is far from a natural born fighter as a thief who focuses more on avoiding confrontation. However, this changes the night of a particular heist that results with the rest of his gang imprisoned and him as the inheritor of immense power.
Separated from his group and now the Planetary Vessel of Willpower, Basil finds himself far from home and now under the care and guidance of man named Eben Gallium, a renown blacksmith and retired fighter. Along with his two new friends Ferris and Artis, Basil hopes to hone his new powers while discovering more about the world outside the islands, as well as the joys and dangers that follow those chosen by the planet.

Lore of Tellus One: The World
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's the first of (what I hope will be) many lore dumps for the fictional universe I've been working on. Everything in these posts will be considered the canon of the universe, but also susceptible to change if I see fit. Be aware I'm also not the best writer so I'm hoping to improve my ability to convey the ideas I have for this so people can actually understand a lick of this lol
Keep reading if you'd like more details for each panel
Panel One: "Within the endless universe, there is a world whose inhabitants and their lifeforce are attuned to the planet itself."
Tellus is the name of the planet where the story of Basil and co takes place. It is very similar to Earth in size and climate but that's basically where most similarities end. Some notable aspects include the planet's twin moons and the large, dark vortex in the middle of the ocean. Tellus is imbued with a mystical energy that is scientifically known as "Planetary Energy (PE)". Since all life comes from the planet itself, all life contains PE as some sort of lifeforce.
Panel Two: "On Tellus, all life has the potential to harness the spiritual energy of the planet in a multitude of ways. However, combat is its most common use.
Some exceptional individuals are especially attuned to certain aspects of life on Tellus, such as willpower or pride, which are represented by different colors of Planetary Energy"
There are multiple species of sapient life that call Tellus home that I will go into detail on in later lore dumps. All people of Tellus have the potential to be born with the ability to use any form of PE regardless of their race, gender, etc. However, each individual possesses only one type of PE. Non-sapient life like plants and animals also possess PE, but any examples of either being able to utilize it in the same way as people are extremely rare.
There are 11 different types of Planetary Energy including the basic Clear Energy, a type lacking any specific aspect. About 50% of PE users utilize "Clear Energy" making it the most common type. The remaining types are each represented with a different color with the examples in the panel being "Blue Energy" representing willpower and "Green Energy" representing Pride. The different colored PE types also vary in rarity, but I'll save that for another lore dump lol
Combat is not the only use for PE, but definitely the main one. Each PE type has unique properties that allows for the user to create their own individual fighting style and strategies. Outside of combat, PE can be used for healing, providing energy, and even for entertainment.
Panel Three: "However, there is an elite few chosen by the planet itself to act as vessels for its ten aspects.
It is said that the supreme power of these individuals is unrivaled and that their actions will decided the fate of the planet and its people"
There are ten PE users on the planet that are the said to be the incarnations of each the aspects of Tellus. Not many people know the finer details of the legends surrounding the ten Planetary Vessels, but everyone knows to be wary of their power. It's debated among the populace of Tellus whether these individuals will bring peace or ruin to the world. Perhaps the origin of these vessels with be discussed in a future lore dump...
Panel Four: "Who these Planetary Vessels are and how they will change the world is still a mystery.
Many on Tellus don't even believe in such legends, but just as many know better..."
This panel shows the ten colors for the major energy types. I've decided to keep the aspects obscured for the time being to keep things interesting for future posts.
As previously stated, the existence of the Planetary Vessels is debated. But soon the entirety of Tellus will need to face the facts, as one of our protagonists is one of these Vessels.

Not Pride Month anymore, but I wanted to upload some Pride Alts for the three characters I posted earlier. Canonically, Ferris is demisexual, Basil is bisexual, and Artis is gay.
Had a lot of fun trying to create fun color schemes using the colors from their respective pride flags. Happy late Pride Month and Happy Pride Eternity!

I've decided to finally start posting some of the OC stuff I've been working on for some time. Everything involving this world is tentative and is very susceptible to changes as I try to flesh it out.
On the left is the logo I will be using to represent this series of art which I will be calling "Tellus: The World of Colors". On the right are the three protagonists. From left to right their names are Ferris, Basil, and Artis. I plan on sharing more about them in future, but feel free to let me know what you think so far.
