As a white “x reader” fanfic writer, I’ve gotta say, it’s not even difficult to write a racially (or gender) ambiguous reader. Like, I’m sick of “your cheeks turn pink” or “I brush out my hair, like, how hard is it to just write “your cheeks feel warm” or “I touch up my hair” like it doesn’t change the meaning at all, but c’mon. I’ve got curly hair and the amount of fanfics I roll my eyes at because it’s so clear the mc is supposed to have straight or wavy hair is insane. I know this isn’t anything new to people of color and other non white women with long straight hair, but I just wanted to complain

A Loving Feeling | Pt. 4 | Finale
This had me kicking my feet and giggling while writing.

Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: mention of the word girlfriend WC: 1,497 Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4
End of the month, and your prediction about everyone no longer caring about yours and Spencer’s close relationship was correct. Now, the most either of you get is just a side comment about you two being “cute together.” It certainly made things feel less and less awkward though whenever you two did get really close. What started as just an exaggerated touchiness to tease your coworkers has now just become the complete norm. It’s not abnormal to see the two of you around the Smosh office leaning on one another when doing your own things, holding hands, or sharing foods and drinks – AKA indirect kisses. Incredibly scandalous. Of course, it was nothing too crazy. Nothing that would maybe get you reported to HR for excessive PDA, just tame crap. The snuggling was saved for when the two of you were alone. Like now, where you’re having another sleepover at Spencer’s place, currently settling in with a bowl of popcorn to watch your favorite movie.
You both sit down on his bed, side by side, watching the TV which he had mounted across from the bed. Lucky for him, it means he doesn’t have to leave his bed once the movie is over. You, however, will have to trudge your ass out to the living room with one of his blankets to sleep.
Halfway through the movie, you let out a rather large yawn, feeling the effects of tiredness beginning to sink its claws into you. Spencer, ever the observant man, notices this and moves the now empty popcorn bowl to his bedside table, leaning back into his pillows more, deciding to lay down instead of sitting up.
“Wanna lay down?” His voice breaks through the sound of the movie playing. You glance over at him, seeing how absolutely cozy he looks: Hoodie on, hair slightly messy, tucked partly beneath the covers, with his arm open for you to lie your head down on his chest. How could you say no?
“Alright, but if I fall asleep here, it’s your fault,” you say, not willing to give in to his sleepy seduction without a quip of your own. His eyes crinkle with a smile as you move under the covers with him.
It doesn’t take you long to find the perfect position. Your head resting partly on his chest, trying to find a way to lay which wouldn’t hurt your neck. Your arm stretches over his abdomen, feeling his warmth seeping into you. It doesn’t hurt that you’re also wearing the same Legacy hoodie which he had allowed you to keep a couple months ago, which had become your go-to PJ’s not long after. Now, you can hardly pay attention to your movie. You had been the one to choose it too. But right now, you’re just too cozy lying beside – on – Spencer.
After about twenty minutes, you tilt your head some to glance up at Spencer, whose tired eyes watch the screen through his glasses. He looks down at you, a small smile pokes at the corner of his cheeks. His hand comes up to rest on your head, giving it gentle scratches as you bring your head back down, eyes closing in delight with the sensation.
For some reason, no matter how tired you feel, your body won’t seem to let your heart do anything but thump loudly in your chest. It makes no sense; you had been close with him before. Hell, you’ve cuddled more times than you could count. But this tightness in your chest, one that felt familiar, almost like a panic attack waiting to happen, lingers inside no matter what you do.
You try breathing deeply, but when you do, you can’t help but notice how he breathes with you. It had to have been subconsciously done, but your chest races more regardless. You try focusing on the movie, but no matter how much you do, your mind is brought back to him, how it feels so nice to be here, with him. It’s a thought that’s been tearing at you the moment you got in bed with him. God, if only your coworkers knew what you were doing. They’d go wild. That thought does manage to calm you a little, somehow. They’d all say “told you so”, hell, you know they’ve made bets about you. Angela hadn’t been particularly subtle about it. A sneaky thought worms its way into your head. What if the reason why they stopped pestering you and Spencer was because they assumed you were actually dating. Oh, and what if Spencer had assumed you were dating this whole time. You know it’s absolutely not the case, but you had read plenty of fanfiction and stories about that, which only fueled your imagination. What if–
“You thinking about something down there?” Spencer’s voice breaks through your thoughts. Of course he could sense your overthinking. He’s been able to for as long as you’ve been friends, which, sadly, has not been that long.
“I-” You pause, trying to think of how to word what it was you were thinking. It doesn’t help that Spencer’s hand was now tracing imaginary lines onto your back. “I was just thinking like, what if we were dating this whole time and I didn’t even know it.”
An incredibly awkward silence fills the air after that. You can feel every single sweat gland in your body activate as you realize how weird what you said was. No normal person would say something like that. It had to be because you were so tired, yeah, it had to be. He’d understand that. Instead of explaining that though, you attempt to justify your thought by rambling.
“Y’know, like, in stories where it’s like, two best friends who are really close, like us, and then like, randomly the guy mentions that she’s his girlfriend, and she’s like, ‘what? When have we been dating?’ and he’s confused too, like, ‘What? We’ve been dating for forever.’ and then she’s like, ‘Well, I didn’t know that, I thought we were best friends.’ and then he goes ‘Well, do you want to be my girlfriend?’, y’know?”
You could feel your insides twisting with each word you tack on, cringing at yourself beyond belief. When you do find the courage to stop, it’s followed soon by his soft laughter.
“I… don’t think I’ve ever seen that trope before,” he says, a smile in his voice as he speaks. It certainly helps to ease your embarrassment, but not by much. His next words make you freeze.
“Do you want to be my girlfriend?”
A stunned silence follows. A silence which allows you to hear the hurried beating in his chest. You don’t look up at him. You can’t. You can’t even move. It takes a few seconds to even conjure a word.
“What?” You ask dumbly, unsure if he actually is asking if that’s what you want, if he’s teasing you, or if he wants that to be what you want.
“Do you want to be my girlfriend?” He repeats, but this time, it’s different. While his tone before was more lighthearted, this time, it’s more sincere, like he’s having to force the words out from his lungs. You can’t tell if it's your own racing heart in your ears or just his. Probably both.
“I wouldn’t mind that,” you say, lips pulling into a line. You didn’t even know you’d say that. You would never have guessed you’d say that. It was pulled from your subconscious, somewhere you had no control over. Your brain fills with worried thoughts now. “What if he was just asking as a joke and you said ‘yes’ and that’s made it awkward and now he’s going to hate you and–”
“Cool. Guess we’re boyfriend-girlfriend now,” he says coolly. You gulp, entirely unsure of everything. Is… is this happening? Did you and Spencer… just confess? Did you like Spencer?!
Before you can even ponder those thoughts any further, you feel both of his hands cup your cheeks. He’s not particularly gentle, but not rough either, just firmly holding onto you. In what feels like half a second, his hands lift your head up from his chest, bringing you eye to eye with him, when he moves closer and presses a quick, soft kiss to your lips. You barely have time to kiss him back when he sets your head back down on his chest.
You lie there, eyes wide, entirely confused and face hot. Spencer kissed you. Spencer kissed you. You kissed Spencer. Spencer. Kissed. You. Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. Everything feels amazing, perfect, exciting. You smile as your hand grips the fabric of his hoodie tighter. Your movie just background noise to the thunder of your hearts beating rapidly together. With neither of you looking at each other, smiles on your faces, thoughts of the future in your minds, you wordlessly hold one another closer. Feeling that everything is going to be alright.

A Loving Feeling | Pt. 3
Okay, it's straying a little from the original request (don't kill me guys) but I'm enjoying this. (sorry the photo qualities are shit)
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: None WC: 2,571 Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt. 3
Your eyes open to the sound of pans clanging in a nearby kitchen. Groaning, you rub your eyes, a little groggy until you realize that you’re not in your bed. When you look around, you recognize Spencer’s apartment, and the memories from last night come rushing in. Looking over to the kitchen, you see Spencer in a white band t-shirt and black sweatpants, cursing himself. Once he looks over at you, he apologizes.
“Sorry about that, didn’t mean to wake you,” he says, before resuming whatever it is he’s doing. When you take in a deep inhale, you can smell something warm and bread-y.
“Smells good,” you say, pulling the covers off yourself and looking down at his hoodie, which you’re still wearing. Shrugging, you stand up anyways, knowing you’ll just give it to him after you change. Walking into the kitchen, you lean against the counter, out of his way, but just watching him.
He seems focused on what he’s making, which appears to be everything bagels with cream cheese and avocados. When he finally looks up at you, he pauses for a moment, just looking down at the hoodie. For a moment, you assume he’s upset, like you weren’t supposed to put it on, that you should go change right now.
“Looks good on you,” he says, before looking back at the bagel he’s making now, spreading the cream cheese on with a knife.
“Thanks, but I think it suits you much better,” you say, taking in his plain appearance. His hair is much messier than it normally is, and you assume yours is as well. “There’s a reason the fans love it.”
“Yeah well, I like it better on you,” is all he says. You sit with that, looking down at the hoodie, not seeing how it at all is enhanced by being on you, but still feeling a smile crawl onto your face.
As you’re looking down, you see Spencer walk up to you, hanging you a plate with your breakfast. Your eyes light up upon seeing how delicious the bagel looks. Looking back up at him, he has a small smile on his face as he pushes the plate into your hands.
“C’mon, let’s eat,” he says, walking to the couch and setting his plate down on the coffee table, before looking up at you to beckon you closer. You take your seat next to him, watching as he turns on the TV. There’s a nice, comfortable silence as you both eat, leaning against one another so slightly, you wouldn’t even notice unless someone called it out.
By the time you’re finished, Spencer gets a notification on his phone. You watch as he looks down at it, reads the message, and then stands up, taking his and your plate to the kitchen.
“Alright, as much as I’d love to keep you here all day, Angela’s almost at your place and I promised her I wouldn’t keep her waiting,” he says, before walking to his shoe rack and getting his shoes on. It takes you a minute to adjust to what he said, but when you do, you stand up, walking to the bathroom.
“Okay, just give me a minute to get changed,” you say, but Spencer’s voice stops you.
“No time for that. Like I said, I promised I wouldn’t keep her waiting,” his voice calls out, causing you to turn around and shoot him a suspicious glare. The smile on his face definitely revealing something.
“Are you just trying to offload your clothes onto me?” You ask, fairly certain that he is. His reply is a casual shrug as he finishes putting on his shoes.
“Better get your shoes on now, car’s gonna leave without you,” he teases, standing straighter and leaning against the door. For a moment, you weigh your options. Either you force him and Angela to wait while you change, or you take the hoodie and not only not be able to give it back, but have Angela see you in it. It’s risky, but Spencer’s expectant gaze makes you falter.
“...Fine. Just don’t blame me when we’ve got a slack channel dedicated to this,” you say, stomping over to the shoe rack and getting your shoes on, rushing a little. Out of the corner of your eye you can see him smiling down at you, before he opens the front door and steps outside, waiting for you.
Begrudgingly, you follow him out, waiting as he locks his apartment behind him. When you walk down and get to the car, you take your seat and grumble as he gets in the drivers’ side, starting the car to drive to your apartment.
“Can’t believe you, Spence. What will the fans say when they can’t see you in this beautiful sweatshirt anymore?” You ask, trying to guilt him into taking it back. He scoffs quietly and shakes his head.
“Well, the fans don’t control me. Besides, I have hoodies I like better. I really need to clear my closet out, so you’d be doing me a favor if anything,” he says, maintaining his nonchalant tone. You consider his words for a moment, that he really was meaning to get rid of it, before your eyes narrow.
“You know what this is gonna do to our coworkers,” your already annoyed self replies. Courtney sending you glances, Amanda giving you a mom talk about dating in the workplace, Chanse teasing you in front of him. It gives you the chills just thinking about it. Spencer smiles at your comment, sly and mischievous.
“Yeah but like, isn’t it a little fun? To get them all wired up on something that’s not even gonna happen?” He says, a lighthearted, yet sneaky tone in his voice. You open your mouth to contest, but close it once you begin actually thinking about it. Your coworkers have been tormenting you for weeks, what Spencer says might be a good opportunity to get them back.
“Y’know, you may be onto something…” you reply in a low tone, your mind already considering the possibility of getting your coworkers to go wild. It would be pretty decent revenge. Sensing your tone change, Spencer glances over at you and smiles.
“You thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’?” He asks, but he already knows your answer.
“I think I am, Spence. I think I am,” you say slowly. The conversation falls off not long after as you approach your apartment.
Getting out of the car, you look around and see Angela’s car parked not too far, so you both walk up to it together. Peering through the window, you see that she’s on her phone, looking at something you can’t see. You knock on the passenger side window, making her head shoot up at you, before she opens her door to get out.
“Hey, guys! Again, I’m so sorry for accidentally taking your–” she pauses mid sentence as she looks down at your hoodie. When she recognizes it as Spencer’s, her eyes widen, but tries to play it off. You don’t even need to look at Spencer to know he’s grinning. “So, anyways, you guys have fun last night?” You can tell it’s two questions in one. If you had fun last night at the party and last night with Spencer.
“Yeah,” you reply, keeping your tone casual. “We had so much fun.” Her eyes widen again, seeming shocked that you said that.
“Yeah, the party was really great. It’s a shame I had to keep this lovely lady all night though,” Spencer says from behind you, before you feel his hand resting on your shoulder. Angela doesn’t speak for a moment, just stares, then finally blinks and smiles.
“Right, well, um, here’s your jacket and keys. Sorry again, you two.” She shoots you two a confused look, before getting in her car. She drives off as you two turn to walk to your apartment. When she’s finally gone, you hear Spencer snickering beside you. You roll your eyes and face him with a half grin.
“That was too much, dude. She definitely thinks we hooked up,” you say, but your face betrays how fun you found it. He takes a minute to stop laughing.
“Sorry, I know. But man, her face was great. I wonder if she’s calling Courtney yet,” he says, which makes you groan.
“I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.” Silence follows for a minute, you both standing there, wondering what there is to possibly say next. It takes even longer to force the words you didn’t want to say out of your mouth. “I should probably get back inside. You sure you don’t want this back?” You gesture to the hoodie.
“I’m sure,” he says, a soft smile on his face as he looks down at your– his hoodie on you. “See you tomorrow, Y/n/n.”
“See ya, Spence.” Your reply comes instantly, and you hesitate before turning back to your building and heading inside. You really had enjoyed spending so much time with him. You knew he felt the same.
_______________________
The next few days went as you pretty much expected; your coworkers all confused and surprised by the displays of public affection. Now, you hadn’t done anything too crazy, but it was definitely more than what you were doing before all this. A couple weeks ago, you might have been seen leaning against each other to show videos between the two of you, but Spencer’s like that with anyone, nothing special. Now though? Now things were stepping up. And not once did it feel unnatural.
“Hey, you done writing?” You hear the familiar voice of your partner in fake-romantic crime from behind your chair. Swiveling around, you see him hovering above you, hands in his jacket pockets, looking casual as ever.
“I can be, why? Need something?” You ask.
“I just wanted to know your availability for this weekend. There’s this new movie that’s being released on Max that looks right up your alley,” he says, shrugging his shoulders a little as he makes his statement.
“You’re lucky, I’m free all weekend. Your place or mine?”
“Mine. I’ll pick you up,” he says, looking like there’s more he wants to discuss, but the sound of someone calling for him makes him shoot you an affirmative glance, before walking off.
You go back to work on your computer, but it doesn’t take long for you to be interrupted again. This time, Tommy, whose desk is across from yours, stands up to look down at you.
“So…” he begins, a clearly teasing/excited tone in his voice. “You and Spencer?”
“Me and Spencer… are going to watch a movie together this weekend, yes,” you say, teasing him right back. His lips tighten in a smile after he scoffs.
“You two are getting pretty close, y’know. Is there… y’know… anything happening there?” He asks, his tone joking, but also genuine. Perfectly finding the balance. You roll your eyes with a smile.
“Oh come on, you know I’d tell you if anything was happening. It’s just a normal movie night, cuddling and watching movies,” you say, a mischievous look in your eyes with the last few words. You can hear by the loud “HAH” he emits that your teasing worked.
“You’re the worst. You better keep me updated though,” he says, a clear indication of his meaning in his tone. You roll your eyes with a smile, still somewhat annoyed people have been taking your relationship and assuming. But hey, it’s just what Shayne and Courtney had to go through. Wait, no, they’re actually together. Bad example.
The day goes by pretty slowly after that, with your writing getting done pretty quickly, leaving you with not much else to do. Technically, you know you can go ask for more work, but lately, work has felt secondary to your friendships. Crazy, right? All you can think about is how much you’d rather be filming a fun video or hanging out with friends, so it feels more torturous to know that you aren’t scheduled for a video today, while quite a few of your friends are.
At around 2 PM, you’re tired of scrolling through the same google doc for an hour so you check the filming schedule for today, deciding to drop in on whatever’s going on if it looks good enough. Lucky for you, it’s an episode of Moose Master, one of your favorites.
Getting up from your desk, you walk over to the games area, making sure to be quiet while walking behind the crew, searching for a spot to sit where you won’t bother anyone. During said search, your eyes meet Spencer’s, whose eyes were already on you. He raises his hand to call you over, before patting the chair beside his for you to sit down. Glancing around to make sure you won’t get in the way of anything first, you walk over and lean back into the extra chair, which is normally occupied by anyone who wants to take it. Today, that person is you.
When you glance over to his screen, you notice him keeping the rules for Moose Master open on one screen, just to make sure no one’s breaking any, with snake on another. You huff out a small laugh at the sight, clicking your tongue in disappointment.
“Slacking off at work, not a good look, Spence,” you speak, low enough to not be heard by anyone or any mics. A smile creeps onto his face as he turns to look at you, a smug look on his face.
“I saw you at your desk earlier. You have no room to talk about slacking off,” he said cockily, before going back to playing snake on his second screen. You scoff at his words and elbow his arm lightly. When you do so, his other hand comes up to hit your arm back, so you hit his, causing an endless pattern of mildly annoying each other. It only ends when your arms get tired and so you just place your arm over his as a sign of dominance. He does move his hand a little, just enough to flip it over and hold onto yours. It takes no time for you to do the same to him, holding his hand like it’s your own personal stress ball.
With you keeping your eyes trained on the cast playing, and his darting between that and his laptop, which he’s miraculously working on with just his right hand, it doesn’t take long for your hands to become a little clammy. It doesn’t stop either of you though, since neither of you want to be the one to pull back. Sometimes it feels nice to hold hands with your good pal. Sometimes it makes the tightness in your chest feel just a little less tight.
You don’t really care at this point about any glances you get. Frankly, the longer this “prank” of yours – if you could call it that – goes on, the less you get. You predict that by the end of the month, the little looks you get from your coworkers will cease. They’ll realize it’s just your guys’ friendship and nothing more.
By the end of filming, you forget your hands were even joined, so when Spencer stands up and retracts his hand from yours to go talk with someone, your hand feels empty. Empty, cold, and a little wet.

A Loving Feeling | Pt. 2
This one's extra long because I couldn't find a good stopping point. Probably ooc at this point.
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: None WC: 4,675 Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt. 3
“Guys, we’re back. It’s another game of Don’t Win Mario Party. Today we’ve brought our favorite guest on,” Trevor begins, before gesturing to you. You look into the camera and wave.
“Yeah, it’s nice to be here. And it’s finally nice to be in a video with my good friend Spencer. I swear, he’s avoided being seen with me up until now,” you say, throwing a jab at Spencer, who’s sitting right to the left of you on the couch, but it’s all in good fun.
“Yeah, I was, and you’ve ruined my streak,” he says, jesting back at you. You snicker and bump him with your shoulder as the pre-game chatter continues. Shayne – while wearing a cone – eventually briefly runs over the rules with you, as you haven’t yet played, and then you all boot up the game to play. The character you’re playing as is Yoshi in this game, and when it starts out, you’re immediately in first place, since all other guys on the couch have played before, so they know what to do.
As the game continues though, you slowly move your way down until you’re in third place. All this time, Spencer beside you has slowly but surely moved his way closer to you, until your thighs are pressing together. You hadn’t realized it until you noticed how much warmer you now feel until you see that you as well had moved closer to him subconsciously. The thought makes you smile a little, the fact that you two have become so close physically and in your friendship. In just under a month, you’ve gone from essentially strangers to close friends. You can’t think of the last time you’ve had a friendship with a guy where you could get this close without him being all weird about it, so Spencer has been such a welcoming relief.
Eventually, the game nears its end, and with that your energy from the beginning of the game has begun to fade out. While Shayne and Trevor have a small minigame against each other, you look down at your controller, before Spencer’s tattoos catch your eyes. Spencer, noticing your starting, silently pulls up his sleeve some more, lifts his arm up, and watches you as you look at his tattoos closer. You grab his arm to hold it still, the other hand tracing over his tattoos, pausing once you see his Whomp one. You do a fake shocked face, point to the tattoo, then to the screen. He makes the same face, which makes you laugh, with him immediately following.
“What are you guys doing over there?” Shayne asks, not taking his eyes off the screen. You laugh again and let go of Spencer’s arm, but he doesn’t roll up his sleeve.
“Nothing, nothing” you reply.
“Yeah, just looking at my Whomp, like a good friend. You guys never look at my Whomp…” Spencer says, a fake sad tone to his voice, which makes Shayne and Trevor roll their eyes.
The game plays on, and before you know it, it’s the final round. You had completely forgotten the points and what place you were in before, so in that moment, you feel like it must be neck and neck. You all play a minigame and tie for last, all of you immediately dying the instant it begins, which leads to the announcement of the places. In last place is Trevor, who successfully flew under the radar for most of the game. In 3rd is you. 2nd manages to be taken by Shayne, which means that the winner/loser of this Don’t Win episode is Spencer, whose mouth is hanging open in shock.
“Are you serious right now? I swear to god I did not win that. There’s no way,” he complains, a smile still on his face as Trevor and Shayne mock him a little. You’re laughing alongside them, ruffling his hair lightly as a teasing gesture.
“It’s what you get for being so cocky at the beginning,” you say, which makes him turn and glare at you, before bringing both of his hands to mess with your hair now. “Hey! Quit being a sore loser!”
“Okay, Spencer’s now bullying Y/n,” Shayne says to the camera. You manage to push Spencer off of you enough to begin fixing your hair with a scowl. “Okay guys, and I think with that we’re gonna end this episode. Thank you all so much for watching and we’ll see you next time!”
_________________________________________
Saturday, June 19th arrives and it’s finally time for Courtney’s party. You, meanwhile, are in your apartment, freshening up for the night while waiting for Spencer to arrive. You can’t seem to stop your eyes from continuously glancing down at your phone, checking for his text every few seconds. The outfit you’re wearing isn’t anything too fancy, it’s Courtney and Shayne’s place, not a fancy restaurant, but still, you put a bit more effort into your outfit tonight than you normally would when going to see your friends. It’s a birthday party after all, nothing to scoff at.
You hear a ding from your phone and look down, expecting to see Spencer’s name, but instead open it to see Courtney’s. Opening up the text, you see she’s sent you yet another TikTok of you and Spencer in the last two episodes you were in together. This one has compiled when you were playing Don’t Win Mario Party together, and it’s just when you played with his tattoos and when you both messed up each other’s hair, with the caption “omg they can’t stop touching each other #y/s/n #smoshships” You roll your eyes at the video and turn off your phone.
Immediately once you do so, it vibrates in your hand, you glance down to see Spencer’s text of arrival before walking to the door, waiting a couple extra seconds as to not seem like you were waiting. You walk up to his car and he opens the passenger side door from his side, where you slide in and take in the comforting smell. He looks over at you, looks back to the road, before back to you again, this time fully taking in your outfit.
“Hey, you look nice,” he says casually, which casually makes your chest clench for some unknown reason. You smile and look at him; he looks how he normally does, but his hair seems to be well groomed today.
“You don’t look too bad yourself, handsome,” you reply mostly in a joking manner. You knew he was hot, everyone did. He had that energy of a guy you may not realize is hot at first until you realize he is one day and now suddenly can’t unsee it. There’s a reason why everyone at Smosh has a lowkey crush on him. It’s normal, nothing weird about it, and he knows it’s fine. Your thoughts are pulled from you as he starts pulling onto the road and begins driving. It’s quiet for a moment before you decide to speak.
“Do you think she’s gonna like our gifts?” You ask, referring back to the other day when you both went shopping for her. He glances at you for a moment with a cocky smirk.
“She better. I know we got the best gifts for her that she’s getting tonight,” he replies, fairly certain that he knows his friend. Besides, you were there to pick things out with him, it’s not like you’d pick the wrong thing. “I hope we play Cards Against Humanity again, last time was so fun.” You smile at this, remembering how a couple months ago for the last hangout you all played Cards Against Humanity.
“God, so fun. I would have won too if you hadn’t kept that one card in your hand until the very end.”
“I knew I had to save ‘my gay best friend’ for when the time called for it.”
“This time, Spence, this time I’ll wipe the floor with you.”
He laughs at your words before once more the car falls into a comfortable silence. It doesn’t take long to get to Courtney and Shayne’s place, and once you head inside with the bagged gifts in hand, you see most of your co-workers and some of Courtney’s personal friends are here. You set the bags down where you see some others are put before you go to speak to the birthday girl.
“Happy birthday, Courney!” You say, making her turn around and squeal when she sees you, pulling you into a hug. She sees Spencer behind you and pulls him into the hug as well, making the two of you squished up against each other.
“Oh my god, just in time! Amanda suggested we pull out Cards Against Humanity for a good rematch,” they say, energy so high. “There’s some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks over there, and yes, they’re labeled. I think Chanse and Angela are both on their way now. In the meantime though, grab a drink and let’s play!”
And with that, Courtney is gone, disappearing to go hang out with the others. You glance back at Spencer, who has a sort of awkward smile. Even though it’s not going to be some sort of crazy party, you know he can get a little nervous when there’s a ton of people all put together, especially since he doesn’t know all of Court’s friends particularly well. Deciding to try and ease his nerves a little, you speak.
“I’m gonna grab a drink, want anything?” You ask, walking over to the kitchen counter where some premade drinks and some bottles are to make your own. You look down at the post-its under each set of drinks and pick the one you think looks the best for you. You feel Spencer walk up beside you and look down at the drinks as well, finding a non-alcoholic drink for the night.
“I think I’ll stick with this. Don’t want to get too crazy tonight,” he says, a small smile on his face. You snicker and turn your head, seeing the tension in his body beginning to fade little by little. For a moment, you consider saying anything more, but before you can find any words, the door opens and Chanse makes his appearance, Angela coming in a couple seconds after. Perfect timing.
You both walk over and have a quick chat with the two of them, mainly about how the roads were so empty tonight, thank god. After a moment of chit-chat, Courtney calls everyone into the living room where there’s some extra seats pulled up to play Cards Against Humanity.
Both you and Spencer take a seat on a loveseat, and you settle in with your drinks and cards, ready to play. At the beginning, it feels a little weird to be playing a game without having to perform for a camera during it, since the last time you’ve played board games off camera was months ago the last time you played CAH. Still though, it doesn’t take long for you to get into the groove of just playing with friends.
A few rounds in and so far, Shayne and Spencer are tied for the most rounds won so far, which is two. You would be fired up with the competitive spirit, but from sipping your drink throughout the game, and even getting up for a refill, you’re lightly buzzed and just enjoying the game itself and having fun, not worried about winning at this very moment. The next round begins with Shayne reading out the card, “What made my first kiss so awkward?” You look through your deck before pulling out a card that makes you snicker, placing it in the pile on the coffee table in front of you. When you lean back in the seat now, you feel what seems like an arm on the back of the seat around where your shoulders are. Glancing over, you see Spencer has now wrapped his arm around the back of the seat. He looks at you with a smirk, before revealing the card he intends to play. You lean in to look, chuckling at the card before he leans forward and puts his card into the pile as well, before once again bringing his arm around the back of the seat.
You watch as Shayne reads out the white cards, but your eyes catch Courtney’s, which are excitedly eyeing you and Spencer. You roll your eyes at her, but she just wiggles her brows at you before looking back at Shayne. His eyes light up as he reads out the next card.
“What made my first kiss so awkward? Announcing that I am about to cum. Oh my god…” Shayne reads, before putting his head in his hand and wheezing out a laugh. Everyone else laughs as well. Spencer looks over at you, laughing, giving you a look that asks if it’s your card, which you nod to. “I’m definitely going to have to give that one to whoever put this one down.”
“Yes! Score!” You shout, reaching to the table to grab the black card from where Shayne set it down. Shayne commends you for the well done card, before you take the next black card, reading it out.
A few more rounds pass and by now, you’ve completely molded into Spencer’s side, not bothering to put any distance between the two of you. You have thoroughly avoided looking in Courtney’s direction, because you know if you did, she’d definitely shoot you a look. You know that to an unknowing eye, it probably looks like the two of you are a couple like Shayne and Courtney, but at this moment you really don’t care, there’s just something so comfortable about being cuddled up with your friend.
Eventually, as the game comes to a comfortable pause and as you all discuss what games you might like to play next – most people suggesting different Jackbox games – you feel the drink from earlier hitting your bladder and sit up from your comfy seat.
“I’ve gotta use the bathroom, you all can decide without me,” you say, before turning and looking back at Spencer. “Save my seat for me, ‘kay?” He smiles and puts his hand down to the cushion you were on. You nod and begin walking off to the bathroom, before you hear someone speak from behind you.
“Ooh! I’ll come too!” Courtney’s voice makes you pause. You know she’s going to say something.
“Oh me too!” Angela follows. You consider letting them go first, but decide it’s best not to ignore your friend’s incessant teasing. It’ll happen sooner or later.
Once you reach the outside of the bathroom, and outside of hearing range, both of the women practically jump on you.
“So, you two are getting pretty close,” Courtney begins.
“He doesn’t normally warm up to people this fast. Have you two started dating?” Angela interrogates. You put your hands up in defense, back against the bathroom door.
“Not you too, Angela. And no, we’re not dating. You guys were right about the fact that we’d get along really well! Why does it have to be anything more than that?” You ask, trying to get them off your backs. Spencer is a really great friend. You didn’t really have other male friends in your life that you were that close to, where you could be super close in public like that. He was just special like that, and so sweet, why would that necessarily mean you have to date him?
“Look,” Courtney starts to say, “all I’m saying is, if something does happen, you let me know. And let it be before Shayne’s birthday. I’ve got ten dollars on the line.”
You don’t know whether or not they’re joking about betting, but you just hesitantly nod, unsure of what to say, before quickly opening the bathroom door behind you and rushing inside. You’re glad they don’t tease you for it when you eventually come out, but they do both shoot you looks before you all go sit back down. Those jerks didn’t even need to use the bathroom.
“Okay, we’ve decided on Quiplash,” one of Courtney’s friends says to you three. When you look back to your space on the loveseat, you see Spencer has brought his arm back to the back of the couch, before looking up at you and scooting over to give you room to sit. Deciding to screw with Courtney and Angela a little, you sit far closer to Spencer than before, with one leg hiked up onto his knees, lightly manspreading. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Spencer’s shock, before his other hand comes down to rest on your shin. You feel him rubbing light circles there, before the hand around your back comes down to grab his phone to play with everyone.
Trying to ignore the glances from your friends, and how your body feels strangely warm, you play the game like you normally would, having fun and laughing at the dumb responses some people put. Eventually, as you lean back into the seat more, your other leg is pinned up against the front of Spencer’s legs, and you don’t even notice it until he brings his hand down to hike your other leg up onto his lap.
You look over at him at this, feeling a little surprised that he did that, but his eyes don’t meet yours, instead looking down at his screen as he types out his answer to the prompt, other hand still resting on your shin. It takes a moment for you to pull yourself together when you look back at your phone, typing your answer as well.
After a couple seconds, on the top of your screen, you see a message pop up from Angela. You glance up at her and she looks away with a mischievous look on her face. Hesitantly, you tap on the message, seeing a picture of you and Spencer from the seat across from you where she’s sitting. Followed by the picture is the text “Couple goals”. You glare at her, which she laughs at before she shows the picture to Courtney, who gasps and asks Angela to send it to her.
Spencer seems oblivious to it all, before you hear the quiet buzz emanate from his phone. Out of the corner of your eye, you watch his face as he looks at whatever was sent – you’re imagining based off of Courtney and Angela’s gazes that it’s likely the picture she sent you – and he smiles and rolls his eyes. You see him glance down at how you’re lounging, looking at you with an unreadable expression for a few moments, before looking back to his screen. You don’t have much time to question it when the voting begins, and you’re brought back to the game.
It doesn’t take much longer after that for you to begin yawning, feeling the energy spent from the night begin to drain. Checking the time on your phone, you see that it’s nearing midnight. Glancing around, most of the other party goers seem to be tired as well. It appears to be the most perfect timing to make this observation, because it’s at that moment Shayne speaks up.
“Alright, guys, I think it’s probably time for everyone to start getting ready to head out. It’s almost our bedtime,” he says, looking over at Courtney, who nods in agreement.
“Yeah everyone. It’s been so great having you all here, and thank you so much for coming. Just make sure you all get home safe,” she says to everyone, who all voice how fun it was to have this party, and wishing another round of “happy birthday”s.
You and Spencer decide to stick around to clean up a little, as all good friends do, before heading out. You go hug Courtney and Shayne goodbye, before heading out to the car with Spencer.
The ride back to your place is mostly silent, a few small discussions about various jokes told throughout the night, before you arrive back at your place. Before you get out of the car, you reach into your pockets for your keys, only to realize that not only is this not your jacket, but also that you left your keys inside your jacket. And because this isn’t your jacket, you do not have the keys to get inside your apartment. Cursing, you pull out your phone, ready to text the party group chat to see if anyone is still nearby and accidentally took your jacket earlier.
“Whoa hey, what’s going on? You okay?” Spencer asks, concerned by your sudden fear and cursing. You feel him place his hand on your shoulder in an attempt to comfort you. Your eyes panicked, you look up into his eyes and see how worried he looks.
“I- no- well, I think someone mistook my jacket for theirs, but the keys to my place are in it, and now I have no way to get inside–”
You’re interrupted by a ding on your phone. Angela.
“Oh my god im so sorry i thought it was mine. im already home but i can drive over there now.”
At first, you sigh in relief, now at least you know the location of your keys, then immediately follow that realization with a groan. Angela’s the complete opposite direction from Courtney and Shayne’s place than you, meaning it’d be about a 45 minute long drive for her to get over here and give you your keys. As you begin thinking about what you’re going to do, planning out if you could stay awake for that long, Spencer’s gentle voice breaks through your thoughts.
“Hey, if you need a place to stay for the night, I can let you crash on my couch,” he says. Normally, you’d just brush it off, say it’s no biggie, but right now, you actually consider it. In that moment of consideration, Spencer has already made his decision, pulling the car out of park and pulling back onto the road. “My couch it is. Don’t worry, I’ll make it extra cozy for you.”
You open your mouth to protest, not wanting to intrude on his space, especially not when he feels like he has no other choice, but it’s really hard to argue when you feel like you’re about to pass out. For a moment you silently curse yourself for having stayed up late the previous night doing some extra work.
“Only if you’re actually okay with it. If you’re just offering to be polite, I can just stay in the lobby until Angela gets there,” you say, really trying your hardest not to be a burden at this moment. You hear Spencer laugh beside you and shake his head.
“You think I’d offer to let you stay over if I didn’t mean it? Besides, it’s basically just a sleepover, and friends have sleepovers all the time, in case you didn’t know,” he teases you. You bite your cheek, still hesitant to accept his offer, before pulling out your phone and texting Angela that it’s alright, and (also hesitantly) telling her that Spencer’s letting you stay over for the night. Her response comes quick with just a “Have fun 😏”, which makes you wonder how much of her stealing your jacket was really an accident.
Regardless, you’re still tired, and Spencer’s offer felt too good to pass up. So, once you arrive in his apartment’s parking lot and walk to his place, you try to hide how anxious you really are. It makes no sense to you why you feel this way, you’ve been over to his house many times before, but right now it feels different. You decide to blame it on your friends and the alcohol.
After you take off your shoes and Angela’s jacket, you take a seat on the couch, grabbing the throw blanket that sits on the end, ready to settle in for the night. Of course, when you finally begin to feel the night take its hold of you, you’re jolted awake by the feeling of weight on top of you. When you open your eyes, you see that Spencer has thrown another blanket on you, followed soon by a pillow which he tosses at your face. With a scowl, you grab the pillow and put it under your head, glaring at your friend as he silently laughs at your expression.
“Sorry, I thought you might have needed that,” he says, a little bit of sarcasm seeping into his words. Another piece of fabric hits your face. “And that.” You open your mouth to snap back at him, but once you pull whatever he threw at your from your face, you see it’s his infamous Legacy hoodie. You roll your eyes at him before a silence fills the room, making you feel like there’s some words you’ve left unsaid.
“Thank you, Spence. I… you’re a really great friend,” you say, feeling a little embarrassed while saying it. It’s not that you haven’t called him a good friend before, but it feels different now. You’re both alone, in his apartment, at midnight, and he’s standing right in front of you. His living room is currently dimmed, the only light coming is emanating from his bedroom, which you assume he’ll retreat to any minute now to sleep. He looks down at you, but you can’t really see his expression.
“Tonight was really fun,” he says, before a moment of silence once more fills the room. “Do you think our co-workers will ever stop shipping us?” He asks out of nowhere, which makes you immediately shoot up, sleepiness gone.
“They’re so excessive! Court keeps sending me TikToks of us together, have they been sending that to you too?” You ask. You had been wanting to bring up the ship with him for a while now, but had felt it’d be too awkward to do so. You hear him smile in the darkness before taking a seat on the edge of the couch, his butt touching your legs.
“Yeah, yeah, they have. And yknow, it sucks because I can’t send back any videos to them because they’re married to the person they’re shipped with. Frankly, it’s unfair,” he says, and you nod, laughing at his words.
“God, and tonight too. I swear, I couldn’t look their way without them sending me goo goo eyes.”
“‘Goo goo eyes’? Really?”
“Yes, 'really'. I mean, you saw their antics of them sending the picture of us on the couch together.”
“Oh god, they sent that to you too?”
“Yes! They really aren’t subtle, are they?”
A beat of silence falls in the room. This time, it’s not awkward, nor do you feel like you need to say anything. Instead, you just sit there, feeling Spencer’s body heat through the blanket over you. It feels like minutes pass when he finally speaks again.
“We did look pretty cute though,” he says, and you can see him looking down at you. You snort, rolling your eyes before looking back up at him.
“You’re just fueling their delusions,” you say, but some part of your chest feels a little tight. No more words are shared when he finally stands up, turning around to tuck you in. You laugh at him but go along with it, snuggling even further into the blankets. Once he finishes, he pecks you just an inch from your forehead, not actually touching you, but still making the “mwah” sound, before ruffling your hair and walking back to his room.
You exchange “goodnight”s before the room falls completely empty and silent. You don’t bother to move to the bathroom to take off your now uncomfortable shirt and replace it with his hoodie. A smile spreads across your face as you realize how much it smells like him. It doesn’t take you long after that to drift off, the memories from earlier that night fueling your imagination as your mind shifts to dreaming.

hello!! I was wondering if you could do a spencer agnew x reader fic (fem!reader if that’s okay) where spencer and reader are coworkers at Smosh. Both are cast and have never really gotten along the best but one day things kinda click for them in a video during a shoot (kinda acquaintance to friends to lovers). During this shoot and once the video airs, other Smosh workers and even fans start to notice the change, like how they always want to be touching or near each other in some way in other videos or even when not filming. It’s just that neither of them realize then the smosh peps try to start and force them into spaces and situations together to hopefully get them to realize their feelings and admit them. Thanks! And hopefully this made sense lol
Okay, so this was originally going to just be a oneshot, but I've been working on it since last week and it's not even close to being done yet, so I'm releasing it in parts.
A Loving Feeling | Pt. 1

Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: None WC: 2,195 Pt.1, Pt. 2
It wasn’t that Spencer was bad per say, nor was it that you were particularly stuck up, but rather, you both just hadn’t interacted all that much. It made no sense as to why, really. You knew everyone else loved him, even the more bubbly ones like you, but you just never sat down and chatted with him. Frankly, it had gotten a little annoying how often people brought him up in conversation. Whenever you talked about a videogame you liked, Shayne would bring up how Spencer had already done a playthrough last year. If you brought up a show you were watching, Angela would mention how Spencer tried getting her to watch it. It was kind of pissing you off, and you didn’t really know the guy. It’s not like you watched many Smosh videos anyways, but you especially didn’t watch the videos with him. If you started to like him just from his on-screen persona, then that wouldn’t feel right at all. And if you hated him for his on-screen persona, that also wouldn’t feel fair.
Which is why you were a little nervous to see that you both were supposed to be on camera together as two sisters in a Spud Hut video. You figured that it shouldn’t be too difficult, it’s just a few minutes on camera and a few minutes talking it out beforehand. It’s mostly improv, but you still wanted to get some things straight, like names.
When you walk up to the man (who is currently dressed as a middle-aged woman) you had yet to have spoken to, you suck in a breath, mentally preparing yourself for him to roll his eyes and walk away from you. You don’t even know why you think this, because he’s never been rude or standoffish to you in the past, but since you two had never really spoken anything’s on the table.
“Okay, so I don’t know about you, but I think my character’s screaming ‘Carrie’,” you begin, because nothing better than just jumping in without saying anything like “Hey! Nice to finally talk to you! Sorry we haven’t talked in the whole ass year that I’ve been here!” But to your surprise, he looks down at your outfit with a nonchalant glance and nods.
“You’re absolutely right, that’s a Carrie for sure.” The smile on his face felt like ice cold water in the heat. You felt relieved, safer, that there didn’t need to be anything to worry about. “For alliteration purposes I’ll be Mary.”
You smile back at him, still a little nervous, but now mostly alright. You don’t know how it’ll be improvising with him, you don’t know if you have a similar sense of humor, you don’t know anything about this man you’ve worked in the same building as for the past year except you apparently have the similar interests.
It’s time to get on set, and you both wait until you’re given the go ahead to enter the kitchen where you’re filming. When you’re finally told to head on, you feel Spencer’s arm lock with yours as he walks merrily into the room, where Chanse, Angela, and Damien are standing. You remind yourself to get in character as you walk up to “order.”
“Well I’ll be, this place is… unique, Mary,” you begin, giving your character a southern accent. Spencer glances over at you with a nod. When he speaks, his voice sounds hilariously high-pitched.
“I do agree, Carrie. I don’t know what on earth anyone sees in a place like this.”
At this, Chanse steps forward, introducing himself in character.
“Hi, my name is Jerry Spruce, I’m the owner of the Spud Hut. Our special today is the Oyster Spud,” he says, painfully in-character. You internally cringe at the concept of an “oyster spud” but you nod and put on an impressed face.
“An Oyster Spud? That sounds very well refined, doesn’t it, sister?”
“Very much so, sister. I do say, I heard there was the famed fettuccine alfredo spud here?” Spencer asks, which gets a nod from Chanse.
“Yes, our fettuccino alfredi spud is world renowned. I can get both of those ready for you now.”
You look over at Spencer, feeling less and less awkward by the minute. He turns back to you and catches you staring, so you speak to cover it up.
“Sister, I’m disappointed. You know, a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips,” you say, mimicking an older, judgy aunt as best you can. Spencer’s face breaks out in a small smile as he tries not to break.
“Sister, I know you are not talking to me about what to eat. I’ve seen the things you put in your mouth and it’s filthy,” he ends with a snap, acting all sassy. You mirror him, yet this whole time you still keep your arms locked.
“I can’t believe you’d call your husband filthy then, Mary,” you finish with another snap, which makes him gasp and clutch the pearls around his neck with his white-gloved hand.
“Well, I’ll tell you Carrie, that the reason your husband left you is because I showed him how much better he could have had it with me.”
By this point, Chanse has now brought over the potatoes, but you two are both so into the fake argument that you take the potatoes from his hands and begin to walk out.
“I am telling mother all the cruel and sinful things you’ve been doing, Mary,” you say, not taking your eyes from Spencer’s. He huffs out a laugh and turns up his nose.
“Have fun talking to a grave then, Carrie.” And with that, you are off the set. Still though, you have to be silent for an extra minute while the crew makes sure you’re not needed again before taking off the costumes. So for that time, you both just look at each other and try not to laugh. Once you’re both given the green light to take off your mics and undress, you let out a snicker and unloop your arm from his. For the first time since walking into the kitchen, you both aren’t pinned to each other’s side. As you undo your mic, you speak.
“God, that was really fun,” you say to no one in particular, looking down partly to see what you’re doing, but mostly to avoid eye contact with him.
“Yeah, it’s no wonder Shayne and Amanda keep saying we should be in videos together. We nailed that shit,” he says, now undoing his own mic. Your snaps up to look up at him at this. You didn’t know he was also getting those same words as you were.
“Yeah, we definitely did.” There’s a pause for a moment before you let out a nervous sigh before looking up at him. “Hey, I feel bad that we’ve never really talked before. I don’t even know why I never just came up to you to break the ice, but I guess at some point I just thought it was too late and so it’d be awkward and all, so I–”
“Hey, don’t worry about it. I get it, I meant to introduce myself when you joined, but then I didn’t,” Spencer says, before finally looking up at you and extending his hand to you. “Let me start over. Hey, I’m Spencer, director of games. It’s nice to meet you, I’ve heard so much about you.”
You stare at his hand for a moment, a little shocked by his actions, before meeting his hand in a handshake.
“Nice to meet you too. I hear we have a lot in common,” you say, a small smile on your face. He chuckles in response, shaking his head before looking you back in the eye.
“So have I. My break’s in a couple minutes. How ‘bout we go grab lunch and talk about it?” Spencer asks. Once more, you’re surprised. Upon first glance at the man, you’d never guess he’s the type of person to be so bold and nice. You just thought he was an introverted shy guy, which you guess he can be at times, but right now he’s asking to hang out to get to know each other more. The thought of finally mending the gap you had unknowingly placed between the two of you makes you smile.
“Sure, that’d be awesome. Let me go get out of this old woman apparel.”
“Aw man, I thought it suited you pretty well.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Have you been on TikTok lately?” Courtney’s voice draws your eyes from your computer. Confused, you shake you head.
“No… why?” You ask, thoroughly suspicious of the mischievous grin on her face. You watch as she pulls out her phone, tapping and scrolling for a couple seconds before shoving it into your face. As you adjust to the closeness, you watch as someone clipped a part of the recent Spud Hut video you were on, specifically the parts with you and Spencer. You don’t see why she was so insistent that you saw the video until you notice someone found you two in the background, still in costume and arms still locked, laughing and looking each other in the eye. Your face twists in confusion, since clearly that must have been a mishap with the camera angles to accidentally keep you two in, just barely in the corner. Glancing down at the caption, your eyes widen.
Literally the cutest non-canon couple at Smosh. There’s a reason they haven’t appeared in videos together up until now 🧐
Your heart practically stops at the sight of those words. You don’t know why, you’ve been shipped with other people in the cast before, but this just felt weird. Maybe it’s because you two had been getting closer and closer in the weeks since filming. You have gone to his apartment a couple of times, mostly to play videogames and hang out with his cats, but there had never been any tension with him. You’ve just become good buddies, which is why this feeling of nervousness and blush makes you confused.
“What? Why would people think that’s anything? It’s clearly just us talking. These fans are crazy,” you say, a little too frenzied to set things straight, which Courtney clearly notices.
“Interesting. Anyways, so how have you two been getting along lately? I’ve seen the both of you chatting it up after shoots, ready to say I was right?” They tease, leaning forward and confronting you on your stubbornness.
“Yeah… fine, you were right. He’s actually… he’s actually really cool,” you admit, somewhat grumbling to avoid the embarrassment you know is coming.
“You guys talking about me?” You hear an all too familiar voice ask from behind you. Just as you turn your head to see him, you feel two pairs of hands resting against the back of your seat.
“Actually, we were,” Courtney says, making your cheeks feel even warmer. “But anyways you guys. In one month. My birthday party. You both better come.”
Your smile widens at that, always excited to hang out with your friends outside of work.
“Yeah, of course. Where will it be at?” You ask, still feeling Spencer’s hands lingering behind you.
“Just our place, it’s nothing too crazy. Just gonna have some drinks and play some games and stuff. So be there or be square!” They say jokingly before walking off, leaving just you and Spencer. You look up, seeing his face from upside down when he looks down at you with a smile.
“Will you need a ride, my lady?” He asks, his voice teasing, but gentle. He normally doesn’t drink much at these events anyways, while you normally get a little tipsy. Not good for driving. You smile back at him.
“Indeed I will, my lord,” you respond, making him smile even wider before letting go of the back of your seat. This grants you the opportunity to turn around to see him as he backs off some more. “Alright, it’s time for me to head back to games. See ya.”
You reply back before watching him turn around and head back the way he came. For a moment, you can’t seem to take your eyes off him, just watching as he walks, before shaking your head and returning to your work on your computer.
You think back to the TikTok Court showed you, how suddenly your fans have turned to shipping you and Spencer. Shaking your head of the thought, you remember how you need to get Courney a gift, so you pull out your phone to text your new friend.
To: Spencer From: You Wanna go to the mall or something later to get Court gifts?
You barely have time to set your phone down before you get a response that makes your smile widen.
To: You From: Spencer Sounds cool. I’ll drive you after work?
You shoot off an affirmative text, ignoring how much happier you feel having received such a quick response. Yet again, you have to shake the thought of him off your head, bringing yourself back to reality as your computer screen waits for your return.
Would you do a Spencer x Reader where the reader is constantly shipped with someone else and he gets jealous? ❤️❤️❤️
Ok I really really liked this, I ended up writing both this and the last post yesterday but wanted to space it out some.
Spencer Agnew x Reader, mostly gn except for one mention of gf at the end Warnings: None WC: 1,735
“Y/n and Damien would lowkey be cute together ngl”
“The way Damien looks at Y/n ASKSJFLAJF”
“Have you guys seen the edit of them from the latest video 👀👀"
Spencer was not blind to the massive fanbase surrounding you and your fellow coworker, and he can see why; you both get along like glue. He doesn’t even know why he really cares for what the fans think in that way, he knows it’s not good for his mental health. But seeing something so innocent such as the two of you leaning against each other during Reddit Stories made him clench his jaw when he saw it. Not because he thought you were into Damien, but because the fans thought you were. Spencer knew as well that he had no right to be upset when neither of you had gone public with your relationship. It’s why he was so happy to be with someone as amazing as you, because despite your love of being on camera, you were more than satisfied keeping your relationship private, even with the downsides it came with.
“Spence! Come on, we’re on!” Your voice snaps him from his thoughts, he barely has any time to process before you’re pulling his arm and into the bright and shining lights of the VidCon stage, letting go once you’re about to become visible.
The cheers from the audience is deafening, and makes everyone on stage a little nervous, but especially Spencer, who’d rather do anything than sit in front of a large crowd. The only thing that manages to distract him from his anxiety is seeing you and the smile on your face as you take a seat in your chair, right beside him and the rest of the cast.
The show begins with everyone briefly introducing themselves to the audience, before Shayne announces that they’ll be doing another live Reddit Stories video, which of course, everyone cheers for. Shayne begins with the infamous iPad, reading a story from r/Relationships. The whole time he reads though, Spencer was preoccupied with thoughts of anxiety, both from being in front of such a large number of people, and being right next to you. Some part of him hopes that the fans will hone in on that, say something like “wait, Spencer and Y/n look kinda cute together.”
You, on the other hand, notice Spencer’s worried expression, knowing him well enough to know when he’s nervous. So, you decide to reach your hand out to hold his in your own, gently running your thumb over the back of his hand. The both of you sit behind Courtney, Keith, and Trevor, and the seats are low enough that your hands can’t be seen if they’re low enough. Spencer looks over at you, meeting your eyes and searching for any sort of support he can find. You see the look and offer him a soft smile, as if to say “it’s okay, I’m here” without a single word exchanged. This does manage to help him and he tunes back into the story being read, despite having missed most of it.
“Wait, okay, so this guy thought inviting OP’s sister into a threesome was a good idea?!” Courtney shouted, shocked by the content of the story that the two of you had missed, saying enough in that sentence alone for you to know what the post was about. Everyone makes their rounds of comments on the story before eventually moving on to the next post.
By the second post, Spencer has significantly calmed down, but he still has not relinquished his hold onto your hand. He tells you frequently how there’s something about you that grounds him, and right now he needs it. You, on the other hand, feel a little nervous about holding his hand for so long, worried that someone from the audience or a camera might see. You had refrained from being public because it was Spencer’s request, and you understood it completely. So, with his hand in yours in such a public setting, you wonder how long it will be that you two are kept private for, and hoping that you two will get to be the ones to announce that instead of someone else happening to catch you holding hands.
Eventually, it’s time to move onto the Q&A section of the show, and Shayne’s once again reading them all from his iPad. It starts out simple, with questions like “What’s everyone’s favorite videogame?” “What’s Shayne’s workout routine?” “How do people feel about AI?” and then eventually delved into some more personal questions, with some of the cast more willing to answer than others. One of the questions asked is “What’s everyone’s type?” Despite getting a laugh from the cast, only a few actually decide to give their answer, including you.
“Okay, just talking personality here, I really like nerds. It’s true, I love when people will just yap about their interests, there’s something so attractive about it.”
Spencer didn’t even need to look at you to know you were making an inside reference to him. The words excited him, you announcing to the world that your type is him. It brings a smile to his face, a smile almost nothing could take away. Nothing except–
“Like Damien!” Someone’s voice shouts through the audience, causing a ripple of people cheering and some shouting your ship name.
Spencer had never been angrier than in this moment. It took all his energy to not visibly show it on his expression, taking it out instead by squeezing your hand a little tighter. You could feel it, the anger and frustration in your boyfriend that your fans wanted you to get with another man. It’s a discussion you’ve had in private a few times before, not about Damien directly, he had nothing to do with the problem, but about how hurtful it was, not having your audience see the two of you together and not ship you. Of course, there were the few fans who did, and you had followed them on your secret account, but they were far from the most popular. You hold his hand tighter before answering, trying not to seem upset by the question.
“Look, Damien’s great and all you, you guys – I mean, he’s one of my closest friends – but he’s not the only nerdy yapper in existence,” you respond, which makes the audience laugh, with a few people booing. Spencer looks over at your face, seeing how you’re clearly straining to remain happy looking. But how could you feel happy when people are unintentionally hurting your boyfriend? You had to set the record straight once again that you and Damien are just friends. Luckily, Damien speaks up as well.
“Yeah, and let’s maybe keep all that energy on the internet. You don’t know if people are going to be okay with that being said to their face. Besides, in this cast alone there’s like, five nerdy yappers, pick someone else for once,” Damien says, a little exasperated but trying to play it off as a joke. The two of you had both connected over the fact that while you do love each other, you don’t like to see each other in that way. Your heart was already taken by Spencer. At this point, Spencer had gained enough confidence that he decided to make a comment as well.
“I mean, if anyone needs to pick another nerdy yapper to ship Y/n with…” Spencer said with a smug expression, causing the fans to cheer and you to shoot him a surprised expression. You give him a small, confused glance, as if to ask if he’s really being so bold in public, which he just responds to with another smug look. You consider his comment and the implications of it. Just that alone will cause people to see you two that way, which you had assumed he didn’t want in order to keep your relationship private. However, you weren’t going to complain if it meant he was feeling more confident.
The Q&A eventually ends and so does the Smosh Live segment. As you all head back behind stage, everyone hugs each other and says how amazing everyone did. You turn to Spencer, still reeling from his comment, before practically jumping into his arms with a hug. He holds you tight, burying his face in your neck and planting a small, secret kiss there before pulling back. He stares at you for a second, not saying anything, before suddenly rushing out a sentence.
“I want to talk with you later in our room.”
The words confused you and even worried you a little, but the excitedly nervous expression on his face told you that there was nothing to be worried about. You nod as a reply for now, before turning back to join the rest of the cast.
It takes a while to get back to the hotel, first having dinner with the cast and some crew, then going out for a couple drinks, before finally getting back to the hotel room you share with your boyfriend.
Once you both unwind a little from the busy day, Spencer takes you to sit on the bed beside each other, facing one another. You give him some time to formulate his words as they anxiously sit on his tongue.
“Y/n…” He begins. His mind is torn in many different places. He wants to be known as your boyfriend, he wants to know that people won’t want you with someone else, he wants you to not be ashamed of him. “I think… I think I’m ready to be public. For us to be public.”
It takes you a moment to process his words. To you, being with him had been all you ever wanted, even before you had known it’s what you wanted. You didn’t care if fans knew or not, you just wanted him. But right now, his tense expression and vulnerable words made you want to do whatever it was he requested, and you had no problem obliging this one.
“Spence, I’d love to go public.” A sigh of relief left him at your words. A part of him had wondered whether or not you’d even want to after he made you wait for so long, but either way, he was happy. “Would you like to make a post tomorrow announcing it?”
“That would be amazing, hun.”
In Every Universe | Pt. 8
You got April Fooled, bitches. Final part.
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: One suggestive joke WC: 2,042 Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4, Pt. 5, Pt. 6, Pt. 7, Pt. 8
“Hey, Y/n, I’m thinking we go get dinner tonight, that okay?” Spencer’s voice calls from the bedroom. You’re sitting on the couch, scrolling through your phone when you turn to face the room you had been sharing for a little over four years now. You had prettied yourself up a little earlier, excited for whatever Spencer had planned for your five-year anniversary. Normally, you two plan together, and it just consists of getting a nice dinner and then going to the arcade near your apartment. This time, however, Spencer asked to take the reins, to let you relax instead of worrying about planning.
“Yeah, hun, sounds good to me,” you reply, before looking back down at your phone. At the top of your screen, you see Courtney’s name pop up with an attachment. Clicking on the notification, you see she’s sent you another Y/s/n edit, followed by an edit of just you with a heart emoji afterwards. A smile creeps onto your face and you click on the first video, watching the edit of the most recent video you and Spencer were in, the one where you acted out a proposal and a wedding. Still smiling, you reply with a heart to her message.
“Whatcha smiling at?” Spencer’s voice asks directly next to your ear, having snuck up to be right next to you. You jump at the loudness, before turning to look at his smug face with your own angry one. Eventually, you give in and smile back, quickly leaning over to peck his cheek.
“The two of us. So adorable.” You hold up your phone for him to see, playing the edit and watching as he lets out a chuckle as it ends, before he reaches over and clicks on the edit of you that Courtney sent. You felt a little awkward watching an edit of yourself, finding yourself cringing a little out of habit, before you feel Spencer peck your cheek in retaliation.
“I think that one’s more adorable, actually.” He pulls back, ruffling your hair which you had spent trying to tame earlier, which makes you scoff and try to fix it. “Now come on, we’re gonna be late. I have a lot planned for us.”
A smile brushes your features as you stand up from the couch, setting your phone down on your light jacket. You’re not wearing anything too fancy. It’s early winter now, so it’s not like you can wear a dress in this weather, but a cute, elegant sweater seems to do the trick. Looking up, you see Spencer admiring you, a soft smile adorning his face.
“Do I look good? It’s not too casual?” You ask, certain by the look on his face that he likes the outfit, but still a little nervous after all these years. His eyes come up to meet yours, before he walks closer and wraps his jean-jacket clad arm around your waist, pulling you closer and planting an especially soft kiss on your lips. The suddenness of his gesture surprises you for a moment, before you kiss him back. You feel like you’ve been brought back to the beginning of your relationship, back when these simple, closed-mouth kisses would give you the biggest of butterflies. When he pulls back, you can see blush dusting his cheeks before he glances back down at your outfit.
“You look perfect.” His voice is so tender, so soft, that you almost feel like you imagined it. He gives you no chance to linger in it as well as he pulls back and grabs your jacket for you, walking behind you to put it on you. “Or at least good enough for what I’ve got planned.”
This makes you chuckle, turning around once he’s finished and giving him a quizzical look.
“What’ve you planned? Are we not going to the arcade tonight?” He responds to your question with a look to the side and a shrug, not giving you any information. You groan in response, though inside you’re very excited for what he has planned. He checks his phone for a second before reaching out to grab your arm lightly.
“You’ll never find out what we have planned if we’re late! Let’s get it moving!” His excited voice commands you. Rolling your eyes, you grab his hand and both walk out the door, before heading downstairs to the parking lot. After not too long of a drive, you both arrive at the familiar restaurant you both had gone to on your first official date. Before that, you two would watch movies, play games and cuddle, before he finally decided to break the ice and ask you out not as a friend. Every year since then you both come here for your anniversary.
The two of you take your seat at that same table. Now, the place isn’t too fancy, but it’s definitely nicer than where you had been getting dinner from these past couple nights, so it was a relief to finally settle down and order two glasses of wine for the two of you. Not too much though, since you both need to get home somehow. As you sit waiting for your food, you notice some of Spencer’s usual nervous ticks, seeing how his eyes now seem to not linger for too long when they normally would. Worried, your eyebrows scrunch together as you reach out for his hand.
“You okay, hun?” The genuine concern in your voice makes Spencer calm down some, holding your hand back and interlacing your fingers.
“It’s nothing, I was just thinking about tomorrow’s videos,” he responds. His eyes finally meet yours and your worry dissipates in his beautiful eyes. “You excited? You’re finally in a Five Nights At Freddy’s video.
“Yeah, I am. I’m also a little nervous though, I don’t do well with jumpscares, so we’ll have to see how it goes on camera.” You let out a nervous chuckle at the end of your sentence, now stressing about your reactions. You’re brought out of it by a gentle squeeze of your hand.
“Well, don’t worry. If anything spooks you too bad, Alex and I will be behind the camera giving you support.” You smile at his comment, before a mischievous grin finds its way onto your face.
“Wish you were giving me support under the table,” you say with a wink. His laugh comes out so loud that you have to cover your own laugh to not reach the same volume. Of course, it’s right at that moment when the server comes over with your food, so you have to choke back your laughter as you thank them. When you look up, Spencer’s face is still a little red from laughter and he shoots you a look.
“Later, you weirdo.”
You laugh in response, before you both pause the conversation to take the first bites of your food. Once the taste hits your tongue, you nod your head, affirming that it is just as delicious as the day you first ate here. When you look up to see Spencer’s face, you find that he’s already staring at you, chewing his food, his eyes hadn’t left you. You swallow your food and open your mouth to speak.
“Quit staring, creep.”
“Nuh uh.”
“Yuh huh.”
“Nuh uh!”
“Yuh huh!”
“Nuh uh!”
“Yuh-”
He takes that moment to shovel some of the food he had been eating into your mouth. You would yell at him, but the taste of his food is so good that you pause, eying his dish before glaring up at him.
“You’re a jerk.” He smiles in response to this, before bringing his food up to your lips once again.
“It’s good though, right?” He asks, but once again, you’re unable to answer as your mouth is full. Looking at him, you see his smile at seeing how happy you are, even though you’re trying to act like you’re not. With that face, you can’t stay grumpy with him for too long.
“Yeah, shit. How do you always find the best food on every menu?” You tilt your head as you ask, but he only shrugs.
“Guess I just have great taste,” he says, giving you a particular look so you know that he’s flirting. To cover up the warmth in your cheeks, you roll your eyes and pick at your food some more.
“Yeah yeah, whatever. Let’s finish eating though, I wanna see what else you’ve got planned.”
And with that, dinner goes by in a flash. Small conversation is made, mostly about work, your coworkers/friends, and the videogames you’ve been playing. With him, time passes faster than you want it to. By the time you do finish, it’s already been an hour, so you both head back to the car and get in. You already know the direction of the arcade, which is why you’re surprised when he doesn’t drive that way, instead heading back to the direction of your apartment.
“Are we heading home already?” You ask, a little disappointed but not willing to show it. His eyes don’t leave the road when he responds.
“Yeah, I just realized I wanted to give you your gift before the arcade.”
Your brows furrow in confusion, but hey, so long as you’re both having fun, that’s all that matters to you. Silently, you anticipate his reaction to your gift. His NES Classic had broken a couple months ago and you knew he had been wanting another one for a while now, so you had gone out to get him a replacement.
When the car finally stops, you both get out of the car and head back up to the apartment. You don’t think anything until he unlocks the door and you see a glimpse of red inside. He steps to the side of the door, allowing you to walk in first, which lets you see that the red you noticed before was rose petals leading from the door into the living room. A very confused but excited smile finds its way onto your face as you step inside, walking slowly into the living room.
“Spence, what is-” you say, turning around, before freezing in your tracks when you notice he’s now down on one knee, holding out an open ring box to you, with a beautiful, perfect ring. Everything about it screamed “you”. Your jaw can’t seem to find a way to close, you’re stuck there in shock. Spencer, glances away nervously for a moment, before looking back into your eyes.
“Y/n, will you marry me?”
His words are short and simple, but hold genuine love and fear within them. Love for you, love in the possibility of spending his future with you, love in the idea that you’ll be his wife. But fear of the idea that you’ll say no. Luckily for him, you’re too in love to do so.
“Yes!”
Your legs feel like jelly as you nearly tumble onto him when he stands up, holding you tighter than he had ever done so in the past, holding you and not letting go for a good long while. You feel tears pricking at your eyes, your chest tight and overwhelmed with love and adoration. When you do manage to pull back, the smile and wide eyes on his face alone could make you cry, but when he slides the ring onto your finger the water works finally spill. You pull him back into your arms to steady yourself.
“I- how did you do all this?” You ask, gesturing to the rose petals on the floor. He chuckles and glances away.
“I got a little help from Kiana during dinner,” he confesses, and you pull him back even tighter.
“I’m gonna kiss that woman when I see her again.” Your words make Spencer laugh, before his hands come up to cup your cheeks, looking softly into your eyes.
“Can I get some first?”
You don’t even respond to the request, pushing forward and connecting your lips, your hands coming up to hold the sides of his neck. Forget anything you said about the kiss earlier today. This is the greatest kiss ever. And you’re happy to share it with the funniest, smartest, and most lovable man in the whole world.
Hey guys, opening up my page to requests as I'm close to finishing out In Every Universe. Rn it's just open for Spencer (like my legs), unless you've got a really good pitch for someone else, then perhaps I'll give in.
My rules: No smut and nothing TOO angsty (comfort fics are okay though)
In Every Universe | Pt. 7
Fanfic-ception?
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: None WC: 2,116 Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4, Pt. 5, Pt. 6, Pt. 7, Pt. 8
“Oh, hello all and welcome back to Smosh Pit Theater!” Angela announces as the narrator this time, “Now, we’re gonna be doing another one of our favorites – and your guys’ too – fanfictions, and let me tell you guys before we start, I heard the crew snickering while reading some of them over, so this should be good.”
She takes out the first script and holds it up to read. You try to glance over her shoulder to see who’s in the fic, but her hands are too shaky to see properly.
“Okay, first story! It’s called ‘Five Nights at Smosh’ by Smoshbadussy. I think I’ll have Chanse playing Tommy–”
“–Wow, Angela, making me play the only other gay one here.”
“Shut up! Courtney will play me, Shayne will play Amanda, and Y/n will play… Freddy Fazbear. Spencer, you and I can watch and narrate. Okay! Now let the scene begin!”
You take your script from Angela, briefly glancing over the first line to see who’s in the scene starting off, seeing that you (or well, Arasha) aren’t in the scene yet, so you step beside the curtain, not taking center stage and adjusting your black turtleneck which you haven’t worn since the last Smosh Pit Theater episode. It is late summer in LA after all, and you were thanking god for AC at this moment. As the scene begins, however, you watch as Chanse and Courtney stand next to each other, acting out the scene which you read.
“Man,” Courtney begins, “that was a great crying session! Glad we’ve got the crying bathroom here.”
“Totally!” Chanse’s voice replies. “I don’t even know how long we were in there for!”
Angela narrates the scene as Shayne (as Amanda) steps into the scene and gasps.
“There you two are!” Shayne does a terrible Amanda impression as he speaks. “I had to stay behind to try and find you! Everyone else left! We’re locked in!”
You and the rest of the cast do dramatic gasps. Deciding to read ahead, you see that Freddy doesn’t show up for a while, just doing sounds in the background for most of the beginning. You try to keep your eyes on the three of your castmates, but your eyes wander as they always do, and where do they land again? Spencer fucking Agnew. You don’t even notice that you’re staring until his eyes meet yours. Neither of you move, not looking away, not until he shoots you a cute wink and looking back at the performing cast. This causes you to look away as well, trying to remember that you’re on camera. Though, as the crew is very nice, they’ll likely just edit it so that you’re out of frame for that, which you already mostly are.
The time comes for you to enter in the scene, so you do as the script reads, sneaking up behind the three of them all huddled together. After about a beat, you jump up and “attack” Courtney before you get pushed off and stand to the side. You look down to see your line, only to stutter out a laugh as you read it.
“Roh roh roh roh roh.” The rest of the cast found the line just as amusing as you did, and you all take a moment for a confused laugh, before Shayne speaks as Amanda.
“Uh, guys, I think that’s Freddy Fuzzbear.”
“It’s not Fuzzbear, Amanda!” Chanse yells. All three pretend to run, and you pretend to chase, before you get to center stage and continue the stupidly dramatic scene. Eventually, it ends with you as Freddy killing Angela while the other two escape, which makes the real Angela upset, of course. The scene ends finally and you head back to the chairs you were at before, turning your head to smile over at Spencer.
“Did I do good?” Your still giggly voice asks. His lips part into that iconic smile of his.
“Absolutely perfect,” he replies. Your eyes are drawn to Shayne, who has now taken the next set of scripts and will be doing the casting. You watch from behind and to the side as his face lights up with shock.
“Okay. This one is called ‘April 2nd’ and it’s by Y/s/n-luvr.” You and Spencer shoot each other a familiar, yet not unpleasant expression. “Let’s have Y/n playing herself, and Spencer playing himself, Chanse will play Damien, Courtney as Amanda, and then Angela will play the priest in this story.”
You and Spencer now look confused. A priest? April 2nd? What could that mean? Your eyes narrow as you walk on stage, all of you standing in a half-circle, facing towards the camera. The scene is that you’re on Smosh Games playing together. Looking down at your script you read your line.
“Damn it, Spence, you’re wiping the floor with us! At least give me a chance to win!”
“Yeah,” Chanse says, making his voice deeper to mimic Damien. “Who knew you’d be this good at the game of life?” It’s silent as we wait for Shayne to read his next line.
“Spencer’s eyes darted around, purposefully avoiding Y/n’s.”
Spencer does as the script says, playing up the nervousness a little, before looking down at his script and reading.
“Guys, I told you I’m a gamer. Anyways, Y/n, it’s your turn.”
“Y/n’s hand reaches the spinner on the table, flicking it, moving her car forward, before pulling the card on top of the pile. Once she sees what it says, her face shrivels up in confusion.”
You perform the actions with a perfect amount of stage exaggeration, pretending to pull the card before reading your script.
“‘Will you marry me?’ I didn’t know that was a card in here.”
“Spencer steps out from behind the table, before kneeling down in front of it on one knee.”
“It isn’t, babe. I uh… I wanted to propose to you doing something we both love, playing games together.”
Your face heats up in embarrassment. Someone wrote a whole fanfic about Spencer proposing to you. And now he’s in front of you, acting it out, with all of your friends/coworkers watching with glee.
“So,” his voice cuts through your thoughts. “Will you marry me?”
“Yes, Spence! I never thought you’d ask!”
“Y/n jumps into Spencer’s arms in a warm and firm embrace, Damien and Amanda cheering, especially Amanda.”
You look over at Spencer, wondering how you should approach the hug. You’re certainly not going to be jumping into his arms as the script says, even if his cutely red face makes you want to do so. So instead you go for the classic side hug, perfect for on-camera romance. You figure the scene must be over now, so become confused once Shayne calls for everyone to get in place for the next positions. Shayne’s booming voice announces that today’s the day of the wedding, and you two are holding it with the Smosh cast and crew.
You gulp down the excitement/anxiety in your throat and wait to the side as the script indicates that you’re not in the scene yet again. You watch from the side as Spencer stands, waiting for you, and Shayne reads out how he’s patiently watching as you begin to walk down the aisle. Rolling your eyes, you do as the script says, rolling yours up to pretend it’s a bouquet. You try to avoid Spencer’s eyes, but fail as you see him wiping a fake teat, which makes you let out a chuckle.
As you finish your walk down the “aisle”, you stand in front of Spencer, holding your hands out as he takes them in his warm, soft ones. You say, “this feels familiar” off-script, which gets a few laughs. A soft smile is present on his face, he waits for a moment, seeming to forget about the whole idea that you’re acting out a scene, before he scrambles to pull out his script.
“Y/n, ever since I first saw you in your interview here at Smosh, I knew you were the one for me. Your laugh brightens my day, your eyes light up every room you’re in. I couldn’t have asked for a better wife. I’m so happy to officially get to call you that. I can’t wait to play videogames and watch movies with you for the rest of my life.”
You place your hand on your heart as he reads, genuinely touched by 1. The fact that someone wrote something so sweet, and 2. The fact that Spencer’s reading it out loud to you so sweetly. The look he gives you shows that while those aren’t his original words, he does mean all the kind things he’s saying, and it only adds to the tightness you’ve been feeling in your chest. Pulling in a deep breath, you look at your part of the script.
“Spencer, you’re my best friend, the love of my life, and now my actual husband–” you see the next line so you turn to look at the camera with a serious expression on your face. “Guys, don’t clip this.” Turning back to the script, you take a deep breath, before pushing the words out far too seriously than you’ve ever said the words before. “And I love you.”
“Woo!”
You shoot a glare to Chanse, before resuming your line.
“And I’ll be happy to listen to you yap about old Nintendo games until the day I die.”
“Now,” Angela’s voice softens the blow after what you said, making you feel a little less awkward having read all that out loud. “Charles Spencer Agnew, do you take Y/n (M/n) L/n to be your lawfully wedded wife?” The silly, relaxed smile spreads even wider across his face, the sight making your own body relax.
“I do.”
“And Y/n (M/n) L/n, do you take Charles Spencer Agnew to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Your own smile broadens as you don’t even need to glance down at your script.
“I do.”
“Then I hereby pronounce you as man and wife. You may now kiss.”
Shoot, you had forgotten about this, but one look at Spencer’s mischievous smile says all that you need. As the cast and crew around you clap at the scene, you both ever so slowly lean into one another, eyes closing, and just when you know people will wonder if you’ll actually do it, you pull back, pointing to the camera with a smile plastered on your face.
“Got your asses! No more ship material for you! You've had enough!”
Both Chanse and Courtney groan at the psych-out, before you all come back to the chairs and sit together for the recap of everyone’s thoughts. Shayne turns to Spencer to speak first.
“So Spencer, would you ever propose to someone on Smosh games?”
Spencer shakes his head, somehow looking all too calm at this moment. You’re certain the comments later will be noticing how you look a little too nervous from all that.
“I wouldn’t do half of the things in this story, especially not a public proposal. Keep that shit private.” Everyone, including him, chuckles at this statement, before he speaks again. “Also, I definitely wouldn’t invite you guys to our wedding.”
Our wedding.
No one seems to notice the phrasing as they all laugh, and you join in as well as to not stand out on camera. You decide to chime in a little so as to not seem too quiet.
“Also, we didn’t meet during my interview, we met officially like two weeks later. We were both a little nervous to talk to new people at first since it was such a new job and we didn’t want to screw it up.” Spencer nods and puts his finger up to make a point while looking over at you.
“While that is true, that doesn’t mean that I didn’t see you before that and fall absolutely head over heels at first glance, which is something I'd clearly do.”
You roll your eyes at his statement. You know he’s just trying to stir the pot some more and banter with you, but at this moment, you’re still a little overwhelmed with the whole getting married in character as just the two of you. But you’re glad to know that the next fanfiction is getting pulled up and neither you, nor you as a character, are in it, so you’re happy to just sit back and watch, seeing your friends do a silly little scene that someone wrote about you guys. Even if yours and Spencer’s eyes meet a few times throughout in a way which makes you strangely nervous, you feel happy, and even happier when the video finally ends.
In Every Universe | Pt. 6
Can't believe Amanda's going to be a mom for real now oml
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: None WC: 1,824 Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4, Pt. 5, Pt. 6, Pt. 7
“Hello, welcome to Smosh Mouth. I’m Shayne-” “-and I’m Amanda, and we have a very special guest here today: Y/n Y/l/n!” Both of the hosts look at you, and you wave to the camera, saying hello. “And today we are going to be talking about romance, is that something you know a lot about Y/n?”
“Oh wow, romance,” you chuckle, a little nervous. This is the first time you’ve been able to come onto Smosh Mouth. “Yeah actually, I do. I mean, I’ve had romances before, and I recently rewatched Pride and Prejudice.” Amanda gasps at this.
“The one with Colin Firth?” “No, the one with Matthew Macfayden. From Succession.”
“Right, okay, and was it any good?” Amanda’s perpetually enthusiastic voice makes you smile. Talking with her just feels natural, which is why it’s good she’s one of the hosts.
“Yeah, actually. I mean, it’s one of my favorite movies. I can’t lie, I love a good fairytale ending where everyone’s just happy and in love.”
“Same. I love seeing people happy and in love,” Amanda’s excited voice agrees with you, before looking at Shayne with an expectant look.
“Yeah, I mean I’ve watched my fair share of romance movies, and there’s some good ones out there.”
The rest of the podcast continues on in a much similar manner. Amanda and Shayne ask you questions about shows, games, and even basic questions about your romance life, like your first kiss and whatnot. You share more than you thought you would have, but nothing too intimate or personal. Gotta keep some semblance of privacy on the internet. Eventually, Amanda’s face breaks into a smirk, looking down at her paper before back up at you.
“So, you’ve had many on-camera romances with our favorite Spencer.” You chuckle at this, having known from when she first mentioned romance that it would lead to here.
“Yeah, I have. I mean, I’ve also had a few romances with other cast members in other games, but I think Spencer and I have had the most romances. I mean, besides you and Angela.” You throw it back to her, with a smile, which she laughs at.
“She’s my wife, man!”
“Your work wife,” Shayne throws out.
“Yes, my work wife.
“Anyways, Y/n, we wanted to know straight from you how it feels to be shipped to such a degree. All of us here have been shipped with other cast members many times in the past, but how do you feel about it?” You go silent for a moment to think about it, trying to give a sort of political answer to the question. Honest, but nothing to stir the pot.
“I guess I don’t really mind it. I mean, even if I did mind, it wouldn’t stop anything. Besides, what girl hasn’t been shipped with her boy best friend at some point? But really, it’s no different than how Amanda is with Spencer, so I really don’t get why I’m the one getting shipped. I know you’re married and I’m not, but still,” you finish with a smile, feeling a little hot under the heat of the lights.
“To be clear,” Shayne begins, “we do have it on record that Amanda does in fact have a crush on Spencer.” This comment makes your face heat up more, smiling nervously and shaking your head.
“Oh right, well nevermind that comparison then. What I meant was that we’re just really friendly with one another.”
“Yeah I mean,” Amanda scratches behind her neck. “There’s just something about Spencer that makes everyone love him. It’s so weird.”
Shayne chuckles at that. “Oh yeah, I mean even back in the Defy era everyone loved him.”
You can’t stop smiling throughout the conversation, and you know it must look a little silly to the audience. The truth is just that you love your best friend, everyone does. He’s a very lovable guy, nothing “weird” about it. But what is weird is how your heart flips when you hear what Amanda says next:
“Which is why we’re bringing on the one and only Spencer Agnew to join us here today!”
Immediately you turn your head and watch Spencer as he walks up on set from behind the cameras. You hadn’t even known he was there and silently you wonder if you’ve embarrassed yourself. You have half the mind to move your chair over as he brings one of his own to sit next to you, between you and Shayne.
“Hey, how’s it going guys?” Spencer says to the two hosts before looking over at you, his familiar, all too comfortable grin on his face. “Hello, my wife.”
You huff out a laugh and return the smile. “Hello, my husband.”
“Guys,” Amanda’s voice draws your attention. “Knock it off. There’s too much chemistry already and we haven’t even gotten to the question we’ve all been wanting to know.”
You both pause at that, turning to face her, expectantly waiting for her to continue.
“Where did the marriage joke come from?”
At that you both turn to each other, smiling and silently asking who wants to be the one to tell the story. It only takes a second before Spencer looks down, a little embarrassed.
“I’ll tell. So, back when we were working as editors with Defy, we were good friends. So, one day we’re about to start a shoot, I’m helping to set up, Y/n’s across the room working on something else and she calls my name. Now, I don’t know what was with me that day, but I said ‘Yeah, hun?’ in front of EVERYONE there.”
“And that’s what got us our first trip to HR.”
Amanda “aw”’s at the story. Shayne merely chuckles and shakes his head. Amanda’s brows crease as a question enters her mind.
“Wait, but why did you call Y/n that?”
Spencer can only shrug as a response before laughing. You catch him glancing over at you and can see a light dusting of red on his cheeks.
“I don’t even know, man. If I’m remembering correctly, it’s because that’s what I was calling the girl I was with at the time and was super tired coming into work, so I just slipped up.”
“And that’s called a freudian slip,” Amanda says, nodding. This causes Spencer to laugh and put his head in his hand, saying her name under his breath in exasperation. You step in to continue the story.
“So yeah, then after that, people on set thought we were together. Once they realized we weren’t they just turned it into a running joke that we’re the married couple on set. But I guess that title now has to be handed off to you and Courtney now,” you say, directing the energy back to Shayne who nods.
He ends up telling a story of his own about how the people at Smosh were told/found out about them dating, and how they wondered at first whether or not to ever tell the audience, but ended up settling on telling them once they got married. It’s a nice change of pace at this point in the podcast, getting to listen to a sweet story. Eventually, the conversation falls back into the topic of romance movies, in which they end up asking Spencer what his favorite is.
“Excluding Attack of the Clones? I’d have to say Princess Bride right now. Y/n and I rewatched it about a month ago and it still holds up.”
Amanda “ooh”’s at that choice, agreeing that it’s such a good movie. Shayne takes this time to turn towards the camera and speak.
“So, just for you guys at home, Spencer and Y/n like to watch movies and shows together in their free time.”
“Hey, we’ve invited you two to join us sometimes and you always blow us off!” You say playfully. It’s true though, when watching a movie you knew one or the both of them loved, you would ask if they wanted to join, but most of the time they end up being too busy.
“I come whenever I can. Mostly though, after a long day I like to hit the gym and relax with Courtney,” Shayne responds, a slightly offended tone with his first statement, before going back to the casual style he speaks with. Amanda nods and looks as though she’s about to speak before you feel Spencer’s warm hand through the sleeve of your shirt, resting just on your upper arm.
“Yeah, gives me more time to relax with my wife as well,” his smooth voice replies to Shayne. You turn and shoot him a confused smile before smacking his hand.
“Get your Mountain Dew fingers off of me,” you huff out as he pulls his hand away with a smile.
“See what I have to put up with? Women, amiright?” Amanda immediately boos Spencer’s comment, Shayne putting his head in his hands.
Pretty quickly, the topic turns back to movies and TV shows, Amanda talking about her love of Turkish dramas, and you talking about your favorite movies. Shayne turns to you once you’re done talking.
“So, Y/n, aren’t you and Spencer having your movie night tonight?” You nod and hum as a response to his question. “Do you know what movie you’re going to watch?”
The two of you turn and look at each other, silently wondering if you should share it, before you take in a breath and turn back to Shayne, a giggle in your voice as you speak.
“We’re actually watching The Notebook.”
“My choice,” Spencer adds. Amanda gasps and holds her hands to her chest, while Shayne hums and nods.
“Oh my gosh, such a good movie.”
“Well, I think that we’re nearing the end of our episode here,” Shayne’s voice calls to attention. You had hardly noticed how quickly time had passed since you first sat down, Amanda and Shayne’s energy, as well as Spencer’s presence being so welcoming. You almost wished this episode would never end, however, it does comfort you to know that you and Spencer will be seeing each other later tonight.
“Thank you for having us, I hope to get invited back soon. You guys were amazing as always,” you say, being nice for the end of the video. Amanda looks at you with an excited look on her face.
“Yes, and you have to tell us more about your movie nights,” Amanda teases you, which makes you a little flustered but you brush it off. You’re about to speak before Spencer talks first.
“No way, if you want to know about our movie nights, you’ve got to come when we invite you. What happens at movie night stays at movie night.”
Amanda opens her mouth to protest, and you realize this is just going to prolong the end of the video, so you turn to the camera, a playfully panicked look on your face.
“Quick, cut the video now! They’re not going to stop otherwise!”
In Every Universe | Pt. 5
Reader is referenced as a "girl" at the end. Also my favorite one so far.
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: None WC: 1,748 Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4, Pt. 5, Pt. 6
“Hey, what’s up you guys? Now, today Angela and Amanda are a little busy, but we still wanted to film a games video. So, Spencer, what’re we doing today?” Your enthusiastic voice introduced before gesturing to Spencer, who is sitting beside you with an unenthusiastic face. He looks into the camera and in a monotone voice, says, “We’re going to collect my pages.” “That’s right you guys, we’re playing Slender: The Eight Pages today. Now, I don’t know about you, but I used to watch my little cousins playing this game when it first came out, so I’m excited to get to play it for real now.”
“Yeah, I mean it’s a pretty simple game in terms of premise, but I’ve only beaten it a handful of times back in college,” he casually says as he boots up the game. You look to the camera and hold your hands up as you lean back.
“Alright, didn’t know we had an expert here.” At this he looks at you with a cute, cocky look on his face.
“I’m always the expert here.” You scoff at his bold proclamation and play-punch his arm. Spencer decides that since he’s already had plenty of experience with this game, he’ll let you go first. It feels a little clunky playing games in front of the crew and on camera, but after a few minutes of just wandering around the forest, you ease into it. That is until Slender appears behind you and you turn only to be jumpscared by sudden static and Slenderman’s face. That’s when Spencer decides to take the mouse next, so you move to the right a little to allow Spencer to take the center stage, but instead of allowing it, he grabs your chair and pulls you closer.
“Don’t think you can escape,” his playful voice says as he loads up the new game. You roll your eyes at his idea that you were trying to get away from him.
“I wasn’t trying to escape, I was just giving you more room for the people at home to see this handsome face,” you say as you bring your hand up and poke his cheek, which he swats away. You glance over at him and see the familiar flustered smile on his face.
“Yeah, well the people will have to deal with your fat head covering me up,” he says cheekily. You scoff at him, smacking his arm again before leaning against him some. There’s always been something about Spencer that made you and everyone else around him want to just cuddle up with him, and it’s great that he allows it. Even through his hoodie, he’s rather warm, which you enjoy using to warm yourself up when the set gets chilly.
“Yknow, this kinda reminds me of that game we played the other day. What was it? The roblox one?”
“Doors?”
“Yeah, Doors. That one was way more terrifying than this though, way more jumpscares.”
“Yeah that’s because you sucked at it and kept dying.”
“Hey, you died as much as me, don’t lie.”
“I died as much as you because you’d get me killed.”
“Not true! You’re such a liar, dude.”
Spencer shrugs and you watch as he collects his sixth page, narrowly avoiding Slenderman’s static each time. By now, you’ve unknowingly begun clinging to his arm, leaning closer to the screen to watch how good he is.
“This isn’t fair. Bring Angela and Amanda back, I don’t want to be the only one bad at games here.” He laughs at this, which nearly gets him killed, but he looks away just in time. “Did you ever see Marble Hornets?”
“Yeah, a couple times. That was a while ago though, probably like, 2015.”
“I rewatched it recently, and honestly? So good.”
“No yeah, better than the stuff I made back in college for sure.”
“I don’t know, you had some good stuff. You looked so cute back then.”
“And not now? Wow, I see how it is.”
“No, you’re actually really pretty. Pretty fucking ugly.” Spencer’s laugh rings in your ears, but not long after do you hear the familiar static as his screen is overtaken and he dies. You both groan and he turns to look at you.
“This is your fault, you distracted me,” he says as he pokes you in the shoulder. You bring your hand up to rub the spot as you scoot forward to the desk, grabbing the mouse and keyboard to move them closer to you.
“It was my plan all along. Now you’ll be forced to sit here for ten minutes watching me.”
“Ten minutes? Really?”
“Shut up.”
Like Spencer said, you did not last ten minutes, probably at most four. But, like the gentle soul he is, he allows you to play again. Surprisingly, you find yourself getting the hang of it. You’re so tuned into the game you hardly notice when Spencer speaks up again.
“Y’know, I’m surprised we never played this game back when we joined Smosh,” he says, you glance over at his somewhat wistful expression, snickering before turning back.
“We were too busy being the best people on set.” You smile before realizing that this is a piece of information your fans don’t know about, and you also quickly remember that you are, in fact, on camera. “Oh yeah, guys, so we both joined Smosh around the same time in 2014. I was also an editor, so we had to work together a lot, and what do you know? We became besties.”
“Yeah, Y/n’s my bestie.”
“Yeah, but I wasn’t as well versed in the videogame scene as Spence, I mean, no one is, so we would spend time after work playing games together. So this is really just like old times.”
“One time in a behind the scenes video, you could see us in the background hunched over a screen together. The comments were crazy, like ‘Yellow shirt guy has a girlfriend at Smosh’.”
“But this was years after we had joined, after we had had our fair share of HR meetings about whether or not we’re dating. Even my friends at the time did.”
“And now we just can’t seem to stop ourselves from making out on camera, nothing's changed.” You laugh at this and turn to look at him, before dramatically looking down to his lips.
“Oh no, it’s happening again…” As if reading your mind, the both of you slowly lean in, before quickly pulling back with a laugh. You look over to see Alex shaking his head behind the camera, and you retreat into your embarrassed shell. “Okay, cut that, cut that.” Spencer shakes his head.
“No, we’re keeping it. Also, you died.” This draws you back to the screen, where you hadn’t even noticed that your screen was overtaken by static.
“Shit!”
“That’s why no girls kiss me. They immediately die.” You laugh before scooting back from the desk to give him room.
“Well, that explains a lot about you.”
The game starts up for the final time. Spencer has thoroughly decided to lock in, wanting to beat this stupid game and prove himself as the best gamer at Smosh. You sit beside him, still leaning on him as you watch him play the game. Pretty quickly though, you realize what the comments are going to say. You were already pretty heavily shipped together as Y/s/n, but you leaning on him? Joking about kissing him? Calling him cute? It’s nothing other cast members haven’t done, but still, you know the Y/s/n shippers are going to go crazy. Now, you personally don’t mind it, finding the edits of you two to be pretty cute, but you don’t know how Spencer might feel. Maybe he really wants to keep the closeness of your relationship private, maybe he doesn’t want to see edits of you two together. Deciding to maybe reduce the fuel to the fire, you pull back once again, not too far, but now you’re no longer touching. It only takes him a second to notice your absence.
“I swear to god, if you don’t get back here right now, I’m firing you.” You huff out a laugh at this, still not moving back yet.
“I- what? You’re not even my boss, dude.”
“While you’re on Smosh Games, I am. Besides, my arm is getting cold.” At this, you see him glancing back at you, giving you a look which you know is meant to comfort you. It’s one thing you hate about Spencer, how he sees through you so easily. I mean, being friends for about 10 years does that to a person. Rolling your eyes, you move back in, leaning up against his shoulder and watching him play. 7/8 pages collected. Every time he moves the screen there’s static, and it’s putting you on edge.
“How do you keep knowing where all the pages are going to be?”
“I just know. I’m that good.” You roll your eyes again at his hubris. “I think you could beat this though, with time.”
“Think I could get as good as you some day?”
“Hundred percent.”
The conversation falls silent again as you both stay locked in on the screen. Your hearts racing in your chest as you see out of the corner of the screen, the final white page. You hold your breath, watching as Spencer darts through the woods and just as static is appearing again, he collects the final page. At that moment, you release a heavy sigh, clapping your hands together in excitement. You see Spencer turn his chair to face you, a smug look on his face as he holds up his hand, and you do the same, before clapping your hands together between you two.
“This just in, Charles Spencer Agnew has collected all of his pages. We did it folks.” You look over at Spencer and see him pushing his curls back with his hand, sighing heavily and looking at you with a large grin.
“That felt pretty good, I’m not gonna lie. Got to show a girl my gaming skills.” You scoff out a laugh and turn back to the camera.
“And now I’ve been swooned. Guys, this has been Y/n and Spencer. Be sure to check back in next week where we’ll hopefully have Amanda and Angela back. I hope you all have enjoyed this in the meantime. See y’all later!"
In Every Universe | Pt. 4
Super sick rn
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: none WC: 1,507 Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4, Pt. 5
“What’s good, yo? It’s Fred Darts back at it again, 301, cheah. This time, I ain’t here to play around, little man. I’m ready to get that nookie, and this time I’ve learned more Limp Bizkit song names.” You watch as Spencer delivers his intro to the newest Darts Ultimate Showdown video. Amongst the group is you, Spencer, Angela, and Chanse. Of everyone, Spencer is the only one doing a reprise of one of his characters, and boy you know the fans are going to love seeing Fred Darts on screen again. You’re just thankful that this time you’re playing with a real darts board instead of the magnet one he played with last time. As Spencer finishes introducing his character, you step forward.
“Oh, hello everyone. My name is Mary Ann Anne,” your soft, high pitched character voice says, “I’m only here because my husband said that if I don’t win this game, he’ll divorce me and marry my sister, Lou Ann Anne. So I guess I just have to run these sorry folk into the ground then.” You then do an imaginary curtsy and walk back to let Chanse do his intro.
Chanse brings the character Jerry Spruce into the Darts cinematic universe, which gets a chuckle from everyone, who’s excited to see him try to keep up the low-key energy of the character for the whole episode. Angela steps up to show off a brand new character, well, not brand new, but she’s taken on the role of Bobby Hill, from King of the Hill, even though she states she still has not seen an episode of it. The game begins in the order you were introduced in, with Spencer going first.
“No one knows what it’s like,” Spencer shouts out as he throws his first dart, which misses the board entirely, making the three of you have to hide your laughter. “To be the bad man.” His second dart hits the board, but not on any part that gives you points. “To be the sad man,” his voice is breaking as he throws his third dart, which miraculously gives him… 6 points. “Aw man…” his head hangs low as he walks to the back of the line. Your hand reaches out and pats his shoulder.
“It’s alright, Fred. Once I win, I’ll make sure to make everyone a nice, apple pie,” you say as you step forward. You decided on this character just before the video, but now, you’re worried that you’ll be too boring, but hey, you can figure out more as the video goes on. Chanse and Angela both make excited noises at that, Chanse mentioning that they sell an apple pie spud at the Spud Hut, but Spencer’s loud voice pierces through.
“Your husband doesn’t deserve you, cheah,” Spencer finishes his sentence by crossing his arms over his chest and looking at the camera. Meanwhile, your face twists in amusement and confusion, before going back into character.
“Well, I don’t know what you’re talking about, Fred. All I know is, I’m gonna win this.” You throw your first dart, but it doesn’t land on any of the points. You curse under your breath as you throw once more, this time hitting the wall, hearing Spencer behind you say, “wall point”, before you throw once more and get 17. You cheer as you walk up to the board and grab your darts, telling Alex the points. Walking back, you stand behind Spencer as it’s Chanse’s turn now. Chanse does a quick advertisement for the Spud Hut before he throws his first dart, which lands him 20 points. Spencer turns back to speak to you as Fred.
“Yo, I think you should leave your husband before he leaves you,” he says, trying to hide the smile on his face as he says this. You snicker and look into his sunglasses.
“I’d never, he’s a darling of a man,” you reply, a hand over your heart in disbelief.
“A real man takes care of his wife,” he says, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back, making all of the cast stop and look at him in confusion. Sure, you’d seen the original Darts Ultimate Showdown, where he’d make comments on Amanda’s character’s relationship, but he’s really ramping it up this time. There’s a pause before Chanse is the one to speak up.
“Sounds like you two should try the Love Spud,” he says before throwing again, missing the board. “It’s got heart shaped sprinkles on it and Hershey's kisses.” He throws again while the rest of you groan at the description of the “love spud” before you speak again.
“The only person I’d be having the ‘love spud’ with would be my husband. Even though lately he has been spending more time at work, instead of at home with the family,” you say, voice saddened but still trying to hold it together.
“Ayo I could treat you better,” Spencer’s voice says. You turn to look at him, watching him trying to hold his character together as he chews the gum in his mouth. You turn your nose up at him, trying to look insulted.
“Well, I could never leave my dear husband for a shorter, louder… more confident…” at this you turn back to look at him, taking in his appearance. “And… quite handsome man.”
“Uh, yeah this is cute and all, but quiet down while I make my shot,” Chanse calls out, making you turn back to what you were meant to focus on in the first place.
Even when playing these kinds of games, whenever you’re in a video with Spencer, you both can never seem to focus on the actual game. Whatever subplot you two decide up at the moment becomes the most important thing in the world. Even if it’s Fred Durst convincing a woman to leave her husband. He just has this strange charisma that draws your attention.
The rounds keep going, the game falling more and more into the background as every time you look at Spencer, he’s looking at you, before swiftly looking away. Little comments, like “you should leave him” and “you’re looking at a real man” manage to get at you, little by little, until you- or well, your character, definitely not you, are getting flustered with each word. Eventually, the scores are Spencer: 5, You: 9, Chanse: 11, Angela, 4.. Right now, it’s Spencer’s turn, and throughout the game, his aim has gotten better and better. You watch as he walks up to the carpet with a swagger which is incredibly unlike him, yet so in character.
Taking a deep breath, both excited for him to win and nervous to lose, you watch as he pulls his arm back and glances back at you over his shoulder.
“This one’s for you,” he says, his voice not fully there. Everyone’s holding their breaths as he looks back to the board and launches the dart–
Directly into the carpet.
“What the-”
“Mary Ann,” he takes a step back from the carpet. “A real man lets a woman win.”
Now, if you were your character, you would have been swept off your feet, completely in love with Fred. But you are you, so you’re incredibly confused why he decided to throw his turn right when he could have won. It’s entirely out of Spencer’s character. However, Chanse and Angela knock you back in character as they push you forward, wanting to see your character take the win. With a still confused laugh, you do as they ask, aiming the dart at the 9, before releasing the dart.
You get an 8. Everyone shouts in the distance, but you’re still caught up on the fact that you can still win this. You aim right above the 1, knowing your ability to aim is pretty bad. You take a deep breath, before deciding to make the best decision for the video. You look back at Spencer.
“Fred, if I win this, I’m leaving my husband.” His hands fly to his head as his mouth opens in shock.
“She better get this, yo!” He shouts, before huddling up with Chanse and Angela.
The room is silent, everyone fully invested. Some hoping you get it, others hoping you don’t for the comedic factor. Nothing else matters though as your arm swings forward and you release the dart, hearing it connect with the board. You look up.
1 point.
“OH MY GOD!!!” Everyone shouts, jumping around as they come rushing forward to hug you and cheer you on. Adrenaline rushes your veins as you remember that you’re on camera. You turn to the camera with a broad smile on your face, adjusting the outfit you’ve had on this whole time.
“That’s it, I’m finally leaving my no-good husband. I’m leaving him for this…” You look back to Spencer. “For this strange man.” Spencer gawks and looks between you and the camera, before crossing his arms with a smug expression.
“I guess I’m the real winner here after all, cheah.”
In Every Universe | Pt. 3
Okay I wrote this one after a long day, so forgive me if it's shite. Also this is a short one.
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: None WC: 737 Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4
Y/s/n = Your ship name
Courtney sat in the chair, between two barriers, facing the cameras, water in mouth. She waited for about a minute as whoever was coming out next got their act together. Wordlessly, you come out from behind her to stand in front of her and to the left a little, facing to the right. Courtney watches as you pretend to sniffle and cry, when in the background, wedding music begins to play. Her brows twisted in confusion, turning her head around, and immediately having to cover her mouth to avoid spitting.
There, walking out from behind the room divider, is Spencer, with paper towels taped around his chest and legs, holding a bouquet of fake flowers. He stands in front of Courtney, facing you, with a stupidly sweet smile on his face. You stare into his eyes for a moment, taking in the softness of his expression as he fully takes on the appearance of a happy bride. Letting out a shuddered sigh, you pull a piece of paper out of your pocket, unfolding it before you begin reading to him.
“Courtney…”
As the name falls from your lips in a deep voice, Courtney immediately spits all over the floor, shaking her head as she waves her hand. You only spare a glance over to her before moving forward to Spencer, bringing your hand up and tucking a curl behind his ear, your touch lingering on his cheek for a moment too long. Spencer, the natural comedian, lets out a high-pitched sigh, only making it harder for you not to laugh immediately.
“You’re my manic pixie dream girl, and I, Shayne Topp, am so excited to make you my manic pixie dream wife,” you finish, tucking the piece of paper back into your pocket, barely holding back a smile of your own. In the background you can hear Shayne yelling “wooooooow”. Courtney looks between the two of you, laughing and slowly clapping at the scene, which encourages Spencer to go even further.
“I do!” He throws the bouquet somewhere at the cast, before shuffling forward in his paper towel dress and surprises you by placing one hand on your waist and the other on your back. You shoot him a quick confused glance, but he offers no guidance as he dips you, facing away from the camera. While the cast and crew cheer and Courtney watches, you both are eyes closed, chuckling with each other. It’s only normal to pretend to kiss your best friend so many times on camera, right?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few rounds have passed and it’s your turn on the chair. Reaching down, you grab the water bottle and fill up your mouth. Your cheeks hurt from laughing so much, so having this nice, cool water is really helping. Just as you set the water bottle back down, you hear someone shuffling out from behind the barrier and walk out in front of you. It’s Courtney. You notice she’s standing weird and just as you begin to clock what’s about to happen, the wedding song begins. Rolling your eyes, you watch as Shayne Topp, dressed in paper towels, walks out holding the same fake bouquet of flowers. Courtney, donning their absolutely wonderful impersonation of your favorite gamer, begins.
“Y/n. You’re one of few people at the Smosh office who is shorter than me. You put up with my nineties anime references. And we have ship edits that rival Shourtney. There’s no one else I would want to spend my life with but you.”
Your shoulders shake from holding back your laughter, shaking your head almost as a warning. It’s silent apart from scattered snickers as you watch to see what Shayne decides to do.
“Spencer…” Shayne’s purposefully incredibly deep voice begins, which makes you spit out the water in your mouth, aimed right at his feet (not on purpose, of course) as you shout “What?!” at his choice of a voice. He breaks himself, laughing before pulling himself back just enough to yell, “I do!” and Courtney ends the scene by puckering their lips and going “mwah mwah mwah.”
You clap for their unbelievably stupid performance, a blankly amused expression on your face as you look at the camera. The laughter in the room dies down a bit before you hear Spencer’s voice in the background.
“That’s canon by the way.”
“Spencer, no, the Y/s/n shippers are gonna devour you for this.”
In Every Universe | Pt. 2
Two in one day? Whodda thunk it.
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: Terrible southern and australian accents in writing WC: 1,669
Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4
“What’s up!” Amanda’s character, Edwin O’brien introduces himself. They’re back in the next generation of the Legacy: Betrayal series. Unfortunately, both Chanse and Shayne were unavailable today for shooting, so you and Spencer had to step in. You were given about an hour to come up with your characters before the video started, and once it did, you were incredibly nervous. It wasn’t that you’d never played TTRPGs before, but rather your first time doing so in front of a camera. But nevertheless, she persisted. You sit in Shayne’s chair next to Amanda, watching as she finishes up her intro and her turn, before it’s now Spencer’s. He’s dressed in a cowboy outfit, topped with a cowboy hat, which he tips before speaking.
“My name is Johnny Whittmore. I’m here on account of my city dwellin’ brother, Hugh, on account of his melanomas.” Everyone at the table eyes him curiously, breaking a little towards the end of his intro. Spencer/Johnny go on to poke fun at city-folks and create a general hostile energy, before taking his turn. The camera pans to you next as you begin your intro in a thick, and poorly done, Australian accent.
“Crikey mate, that’s a sad sad man right there. My name is Margot Brawne, I’m here because me uncle, Clyde, passed away a few years ago ‘ere, and my dear ol’ dad wanted me to solve it because I’m an unwed daughtah.” Your intro makes the cast groan and laugh at the poor accent and high-energy character to match Amanda’s. Spencer, however, does not break character and instead shakes his head as he stares you down.
“These goddamn city folk always tryna dig around in other people’s business.” His serious delivery makes you huff out a laugh and respond in character. “Sorry mate, I ain’t a real city folk. I grew up wrestlin’ crocks and grillin’ shrimp on the barbie.” To this he nods a few times and turns his glare to Angela’s character. “See, now that’s what a real woman should look like.”
“Hey! Don’t talk to my wife like that!” Amanda shouts. You laugh at this, before it’s Angela’s turn to introduce herself and her renewed character. The whole time your eyes keep wandering over to Spencer in his cowboy outfit, as well as his freshly trimmed beard. You can’t deny how handsome he looks, especially with that accent. It brings you back to a few months ago, when you both talked to an Arthur Morgan chatbot and you confessed your crush on the cowboy. You get caught in your staring when Spencer turns his head to you, shooting you a glare that makes your cheeks burn. His accent comes out strong when he says, “what’re you lookin’ at, woman?” You laugh to cover up your embarrassment at being caught staring with everyone now looking at you.
“Shit mate, didn’t mean to stare. Guess I just got caught up in that strange apparel you’ve got on there. Looks mighty fine on you though, I have to say,” you finish with a wink. It manages to make Spencer break, his iconic laugh spilling out as Amanda, Angela and Damien all “ooh” you both. He pulls himself back together with a cough.
“Well, little lady. Can’t say you’re the first to catch a taste of us country folk. We’re refined, unlike these fuckin’ city folk.” He shoots another glare to Angela and Amanda, who begin to yell at him. Amidst the chaos, you turn and look at the camera with wide eyes.
“This fella is rude and a little arousing. Not sure how to feel about that,” you snicker out, making Amanda smack your arm in retaliation as she shouts “Hey!” at you. You shoot her a confused glare because she has said far worse, and not playing a character. Angela shouts a little before it’s her turn to play, making the laughter die down some more.
That’s one thing relieving about working at Smosh, how on camera, none of it feels like work. It’s just hanging out with your friends, playing games, and having fun. Well, you do have to change the tone a little bit, make things more entertaining for the audience, but that’s not too difficult after many years of practice. Definitely your on-screen continued romances with Spencer and his characters has been one of the most infamous things you’re known for. You’re not remiss to the youtube comments, the tiktok thirst traps/ship edits Courtney sends you, but you’re also not too put off by them. Spencer has been your guy for forever, you both know how much chemistry you have both on screen and off screen, it’s why he’s your best friend. Even if you have to ignore the rush of blood whenever you see those edits.
“Margot!” Amanda’s voice breaks your thoughts. “It’s your turn, little lady!” You shake your head of the thoughts and begin to move your character throughout the rooms of the manor, discovering a new one. You hear Angela’s voice speak up next.
“Sweetie, don’t be calling other girls little,” her uncharacteristically soft, feminine voice rings out. Amanda leans back in her chair immediately, hands up in defense. Her voice is loud as always as she chuckles out a response, “Woah, babe, you know you’re the only little lady in my life! My eyes would never stray.” She turns to the camera. “God, I love when she gets possessive like that.”
You laugh and turn to Angela, addressing her as you speak, “I’m terribly sorry ms, I have no intention of taking this… man from you. I may be a croc wrestler, but I ain’t no homewrecker.” Angela’s soft face breaks out into a dumb smile at that, she goes to speak, but Spencer cuts her off.
“Now, that’s my kind of lady,” his voice is a little out of breath as he takes the cowboy hat off to fan himself. You turn to look at him, fanning yourself with your hand as well, before looking over to Amanda.
“Am I the only one kind of attracted to his energy?” Immediately Amanda and Angela both nod.
“Yes, you’re the only one,” Angela yells before going back into character. Your shoulders shake as you silently laugh, only to hear Damien declare that it is now Spencer’s turn. You watch as he moves his character across the manor and for a moment, his mini-fig is in the same room as yours before moving onto the next one over.
“Don’t you worry woman, I’ll protect you,” his serious tone makes you blush a little, so you play it up for the cameras.
“Crikey, you’re makin’ my heart flutter, mate. I’m sure I’ll be alright though, I’ve been wrestling ‘gator before I could count to ten,” you announce, a little out of breath. Angela laughs, shaking her head and muttering, “Wait, crocs or gators?” to which you just shrug. Spencer smiles and shoots you the least angry look than you’ve seen on him all day.
“Ain’t ne’er heard of a lady doin’ none of that. A woman after my own heart it seems.” At that, you pretend to pass out in your seat, which prompts Amanda to chuckle and lightly shove you with both her hands, saying, “enough of that you two.”
You snort out a laugh, Angela points at you in loving mockery, but watch as the game continues. So far, everyone seems to be a little screwed. You’re honestly pretty sure that everyone in this game is going to die, which makes it a little fun because it means that there’s no real risk. It seems that Damien’s noticed so as well, but he’s doing an excellent job at keeping the energy from feeling hopeless.
After a couple more rounds, the most tragic event happens. Johnny Whittmore dies. Your heart is a little broken at the fact that he wasn’t in the game for much longer, as he was a very entertaining character for you, and you were wanting to keep the chemistry going. But alas, the game continues on without him for another five minutes before you too kick the bucket, dying to the tick tock card. Upon death, you groan and slouch back in your chair. You knew it was coming but it was still incredibly disappointing to die on your first game here. Not that you were about to reveal your genuine disappointment on camera though, so you prepare to just sit back up and go on with the game with a smile. Well, you were going to, until you heard Spencer psst at you loudly, enough to pull everyone’s attention.
“Hey there, pretty lady. Glad to see that even as a ghost you’re still the finest woman in the southern hemisphere. I don’t reckon you have a man you’re waiting for in the afterlife, do you?” His voice is laced with a smile as he speaks this time, a level of softness you hadn’t heard from this character yet. Once more, your cheeks felt warm as you pulled in a heavy breath and blinked a few times to process.
“Crikey, mate. I sure as hell don’t have no fella here,” you manage to get out, seeing the look of excitement on Angela’s face across from you and hearing the quiet chuckles of Amanda beside you. Spencer then takes his hat off and places it on the table in front of him.
“Well then, mind if I keep you company in this here afterlife?” He’s smiling softly as he says this, eyes almost teasing, but as always, perfectly in character. You pause to think of an adequate response, before deciding to reach over and grab the hat from in front of him, bringing it upon your head, and tipping it to him.
“Don’t mind one bit, mista,” you finish with a wink, this time making him fake pass out in his seat. While Amanda teases Spencer for it, Angela turns to the camera and loudly exclaims.
“Love is blind!”
“Eleanor, babe, wrong series.”
In Every Universe | Pt. 1
Okay, so this is my first time writing a fanfic since freshman year of high school, I've only written essays since then. Please forgive my writing style if it's not writer-y enough.
Spencer Agnew x Reader Warnings: Suggestive jokes (nothing serious, just general Spencer and co. jokes) WC: 1,580
Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3, Pt. 4
“Hey everyone! We’re back to find love with another rendition of Love is Blind!” Amanda’s voice announced to the camera. “Today we have some brand-new contestants!” Amanda's lovely voice goes on as she recaps the rules, before she goes on to describe her character in this game, which is a long beloved character of hers, the drunk party girl. You watch as she passes off to Shayne, then Arasha, then Courtney, then you as you finally get to share the character you’ve come up with.
“Hey there, little boys and girls,” you begin in your best rendition of a sexy, deep voice, which of course everyone snickers at, “I’m Lady D., but my… friends just call me Dee. I’m here to step outside of my comfort zone as a full-time dominatrix and find real love.” After you finish your intro, you can’t help but laugh alongside everyone else. It was a ridiculous character, and you know the voice is going to hurt by the end of the episode. Once the laughing subsides it’s time for Spencer’s character introduction. His voice is much deeper and douche-y than it normally is when he speaks.
“Whoa… Sick, um, well, my name is Derry. I’m a world champion Genshin player, and yes, I do live in my mom’s basement. Honestly, I don’t know why I’m here, chicks are already crazy enough irl.” His intro causes everyone at the table to groan, and Amanda to shove him lightly. His iconic laugh breaks through his character as he glances over at you to gauge your reaction. When he sees that you’re smiling, it only makes him smile more.
The game begins as it always does, making connections, bantering, and playing up the characters. As of now, your character, Dee, has the most connections with Spencer’s character and Courtney’s character. The question pops up of what your favorite kind of date is, A. small and intimate, B. big and bold, or C. skip the date, straight to the bedroom. Both you and Spencer are the only ones who place A, so you shoot him some playful bedroom eyes and turn to speak to the camera.
“Now, normally I would choose C, but I’m here to find love, not lust this time. Unless of course, I can find both in one,” You snicker out towards the end before shooting Spencer a wink. His eyes go comically wide and he turns to the camera to speak as well, “Whoa guys, I know chicks dig gamers, but this mommy and I really have chemistry.” Once more in this episode, you all laugh and boo Spencer and his weird, 4chan-y lingo. The game continues on, everyone else talking to and about their connections, but every time you look Spencer’s way, he gasps and makes a dramatic head turn away from you. You smile and shake your head when he does so, confused and loving/hating the energy of his character.
“Derry, I have something to say to you, meet me up front,” your head turns as Arasha/her character says. Spencer stares over at her for a second, looking shocked before standing up and facing away from her in front of the board, right in front of the cameras. You and all the other castmates are in shock and huddled together to watch. They both turn around and look at each other, gasping once they see one another. Arasha walks closer to him and gets down on one knee, looking up at Spencer. “I know you’re kind of an incel, but our connection is deep enough for me to overlook that. Will you marry me, Derry?” There’s a dramatic silence that falls upon the room, everyone clutching each other’s hands, waiting for Spencer/Derry’s response.
“Uh, sorry babe, but methinks there’s another lady more worth my time.” You all gasp loudly at his rejection, Arasha falling to the ground melodramatically, before Spencer’s gaze turns to you. “Dee…” More gasps erupt and you stand from your seat, heart over your chest. Arasha gets up from the floor and you swiftly take her place as he takes your hand in his. His is warm and a little clammy, but you don’t mind, holding tighter as he gets down on his knee, taking the ring Arasha had and now holding it up to you. “Mommy Dee, you had me from ‘I’m’.” You snicker. “Will you be my gamer girl, and we can be double d’s together?”
You have to get over your laughing for a second, the sound of your castmates cheering/shouting fogging your mind for just a moment, but you recover, nodding before you push him down onto both of his knees. “Oh but of course, I can never say no to a good boy.” Even those words coming out of your mouth make you break, shaking your head. You open your eyes to see Spencer doing the same, muttering your name in a humorously disapproving tone, before you help him up to stand. He makes a big deal of sliding the ring onto your finger and you hold it to your lips and kiss it. Of course, he reacts to this by placing his hands over the front of his pants as if to cover a boner, so you smack his arm and he breaks with a laugh.
Moving back behind the table, you move to be next to each other, that way you can lean onto him and shoot each other looks easier than before. As the questions and connections continue, Amanda stands up and looks at Shayne, and they go to the front as she pulls out her ring to him, going on in a monologue about how drunk they could get together. You watch the scene with a hand clutched to your chest, in exaggerated shock and awe. Your other hand, under the table, feels a familiar soft, warm hand brush against you before it holds onto your hand gently. You glance over to Spencer to see his eyes locked onto the two “lovers”, not even looking over at you. Trying to ignore the heat that rushes to your cheeks, you look back to the proposal, knowing that the cameras wouldn’t be able to pick up on the secret hand holding. You hardly even notice the proposal finishing before they’re sitting down at the table and Spencer turns to you and speaks.
“Hey, babe, that was only like, half as hot as ours. I would never let a woman do the proposal,” he says with his dopey smile. You smile back before putting on your character and responding facing the camera.
“I have a lot of fixing to do with this one.” You turn back to Spencer and put on your best commanding voice, trying to hide your smile. “Speak when you are spoken to, boy.”
He gulps loudly, making the table laugh before his eyes dart around and he speaks in a higher voice, “Hhhhhh, yes ma’am.”
You smile and respond with, “That’s mommy to you,” before drawing the next card for the game.
In just a few more turns, it’s time for the weddings. You both got all the possible connections to have a successful wedding. All the cast stands up and moves behind the table to do their weddings. Arasha and Courtney go first, and while they do theirs, you lean closer to Spencer and whisper. “Go with me on this.” You don’t have any time to clarify before they both “kiss” behind a piece of paper. Everyone cheers as they run off, before swiftly turning around to watch the other marriages, the next of which is yours. For some reason, you feel a little nervous, which makes no sense. Looking at Spencer, you know there’s nothing to be nervous about, not with the soft, yet playful smile he gives you as Tommy holds some paper towels on your head as a veil. Spencer takes your hands as you pretend to cry.
“We are gathered here today to unite the marriage between… an incel and a dominatrix. Before anything else, please say your vows,” Tommy reads off his “script”, before turning to the both of you. You decide to speak up first.
“Derry, I’m glad I like you for more than just sex. In every way except for your personality, you’re a… a good boy.” You cringe as you finish your sentence, watching as Spencer’s face does the same before quickly recovering. It’s silent before you remember, “You may speak now.”
“Phew. Okay Lady D., you’re the light of my life, the bulge in my pants, and the dommy to my mommy. I can’t wait to get pegged later tonight.” You cringe once more, disappointed by his disgustingly amused face. Tommy clears his throat and resumes reading.
“You may now kiss however you’d like.” And as the words leave his mouth, you reach out to Spencer and grab his jacket with both hands, pulling him to where his body blocks the camera as your hands both move up and down his neck and back, mimicking making out. Spencer, although initially stunned, quickly reciprocates and places his hands on your arms, moving them about in an appropriate, yet passionate way. All the while, your faces are inches from one another, eyes both shut as you independently make smooching noises as the cast and crew cheer you on. After a few seconds of this, you push him off, wiping your lips with your arm and looking towards the camera.
“Love is blind!”
