August Book Haul
At this point it kind of feels redundant talking about how chaotic and stressful the month has been, because that’s basically 2020 in a nutshell. Everything kind of sucks, and we’ve just got to get through it the best we can. August is always a difficult month for me in particular because it’s my birth month, and that always triggers a steep decline in my mental health, no matter what I do. This…

August Reading Wrap Up
August Reading Wrap Up
While this whole year has been chaos, August was a particularly difficult month for me. It always is, because it’s my birth month, and typically I have a hard time with my birthday, so my mental health has a significant decline in the weeks leading up to it. Thankfully, everything was fine and I’m feeling much better now.

July Reading Wrap Up
July Reading Wrap Up
My reading plan in July went completely out the window halfway through the month, when I decided on a whim that I needed to reread the Sookie Stackhouse books. I still don’t know where the impulse came from, but I woke up one morning and felt compelled to go digging for my copies of the series. Still, I managed to read a total of six books this month, which is pretty good, and although my ratings…

Top Ten Tuesday: Books with Colours In the Titles
Top Ten Tuesday: Books with Colours In the Titles
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish list prompt originally hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The theme for this week is:
August 4: Books with Colours In the Titles
It was surprisingly easy to find ten books that I’ve either read or have on my TBR that also have colours in the title. I guess I never really noticed how often it happens. Also…

July Book Haul
In July I back-slid a little when it came to my book buying, and bought more books than I planned. While I’m not thrilled at myself for buying so many books, I can’t deny that I’m happy to have them in my life. Anyway, enough of that, on with the books.

June Book Haul
I finally managed to succeed in not buying too many books this month. Mostly, because I’ve been hit by a reading slump where I’m just not in the mood for anything in particular. My bank account is happy about this at least as I’ve definitely been a bit over enthusiastic with my online book buying in the past few months.

June Reading Wrap Up
June Reading Wrap Up
June was a mess of a month where a lot seemed to happen. As if things hadn’t been chaotic enough recently, I fell into a reading slump mid way through the month. My brain just refused to cooperate whenever I tried to read something. I started a number of books trying to find something, but nothing really gripped me. Still, I did manage to read five books this month despite everything else going…

It’s been a weird few months, and it’s really impacted my reading in some unexpected ways. I’ve actually been reading more books, but those books are much more decided upon by my mood…

Book Haul - May 2020
Book Haul – May 2020
May was a difficult month for a number of reasons, and honestly I’m just trying to get through in the best way I know how. Unfortunately that sometimes means I shop, and a lot of that is buying books. So get ready, because this is yet another lengthy book haul.

May Reading Wrap Up
May Reading Wrap Up
May was such a weird month for me. I’m still on lock-down, so time has lost a lot of meaning for me, and I’ve been struggling to try and hold on to some sense of normalcy. I’ve been feeling very unfocused all month, so I was surprised when I came to write this post and realised how much I actually read in May.

#SixForSunday –Heartwrenching Series Endings

10th: Heartwrenching endings to series
This weeks topic was a tricky one, mostly because I have a horrible track record when it comes to actually finishing series. I start so many, but I have a bad habit of loosing track of them, which means I have very few choices to pull from for this topic. I…

It has been such a long time since I made a monthly TBR, because normally I have a hard time sticking to them. I’m making this one now because I really benefited from having my magical readathon TBR in place last month. It kept me from completely losing motivation, which is a big deal right now, because time is losing all meaning while I’m on lockdown. So I want to be reading something everyday,
Finish Reading
Clockwork Princess – by Cassandra Clare – I’m a decent way through this book already, so hopefully I’ll make short work of the rest of it. This book is so addictive, I can’t wait to see how this series ends.
Sorcery of Thorns – by Margaret Rogerson – I took a break from this book months ago, despite the fact that I was really enjoying it, because of my anxiety.
  To Read
The Deck of Omens – by Christine Lynn Herman – I received a copy of this book to review from the publisher, so this is a priority for me this month. I’ve been excited to read this since I read The Devouring Gray last year, so I’m optimistic about this one.
Not Your Sidekick – by C.B. Lee – I pulled this out of my TBR jar last month for the divination prompt and never got around to reading it, so I’ve decided to read it this month instead rather than returning it to the jar.
Chain of Gold – by Cassandra Clare – After finishing Clockwork Princess I’m fairly sure that I won’t want to stray too far from the Shadowhunter world, so I’m planning to pick this one up this month.
Down Among the Sticks and Bones – by Seanan McGuire – Last month I fell in love with Every Heart a Doorway, so I definitely want to continue on with the series, and I figure, the sooner the better.
The Prince and the Dressmaker – by Jen Wang – This seems like such a cute graphic novel. I’ve heard so many good things about it, so I’m looking forward to checking it out myself.
What are you hoping to read this month? Want to chat, about books or anything else, here are some other places you can find me, feel free to contact me or leave a comment below:

Magical Readathon 2020 – OWLs Wrap Up
The Magical Readathon is a month-long readathon themed around the exams sat in the Harry Potter books. There are prompts for each Hogwarts subject, and a selection of wizarding careers to aim for. This is one of the most creative and well thought out readathons I’ve ever heard of. You can find out more about this readathon and how to participate on the website here.

#SixForSunday – Favourite First Books in a Series
This post is part of #SixforSunday, a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Steph from A Little But A Lot.
3rd: Favourite book 1 in series
This weeks topic was an interesting one for my because I have this terrible habit of starting series and never finishing them, so I have read a lot of book ones over the years. For this post I’ve tried to focus on series where I’ve actually read more than just the…

April Book Haul
April just flew by in comparison to March, and yet somehow, despite being on lock-down, I still managed to buy eleven books, which is definitely too many considering how many books I’m reading per month currently. I’ve been putting it down to my stress and anxiety from being stuck at home currently. But I definitely will be making an effort to limit myself a bit next month. It’s not like I’m at…
