Please help Mahmoud and his family!

I'll make this brief -- I've been asked by my friend Mahmoud to organize his campaign. Mahmoud is a 29 year old schoolteacher from Gaza and needs your generosity and support to survive, along with his family. I've spoken to Mahmoud myself and I know that his situation isn't improving, so time is of the essence.

This campaign is brand new, so we're starting at exactly $0. The goal Mahmoud has asked me to set is $35,000. This may seem insurmountable, but I know we can do this together.

I feel like it’s perhaps comparable to someone retiring to the countryside and cutting themselves off from everything, it has advantages and disadvantages but the problem with loops is if you ever regret living in one then don’t wait for too long or it will take your freedom of movement away from you.

The disadvantages I could think of heavily depend on what loop you live in but : eating the same meals everyday, wearing the same clothes without being able to buy new things, not being able to inform yourself on the current state of the world (look how backwards most peculiars are), and not aging may seem cool but it seems like Syndrigasti don’t mature either, they all act as their physical age which can trap them into staying permanently who they are.

But still the concept of loops is great for traveling and getting an idea of how life was in different time periods (imagine ancient rome, ancient china!!)

Would you live in a loop? Because I would probably live happily in one.

Disadvantages: at some point you get tired of living in it

Advantages: living a perfect day, never getting sick, never menstruating again, never getting old.

For an adventurer a loop is a prison, for someone who just wants peace a loop is a paradise 🌼✨

I’ve just posted the few first chapters of Sisters of Paradis. Get Alma Peregrine going back to being a student content lol. And then after she finishes her training it’ll turn more chaotic.

It’s a crossover that is actually my desired reality a few years after when I plan to shift to it :)

Trying to write down the concepts and modifications from canon I imagined wasn’t easy, but I hope it’s clear enough for possible readers to understand.

Soooo fucking obsessed with Valya Harkonnen. It’s refreshing to see a middle aged female character so unabashedly power hungry and prideful. Caught between choosing her family name and its honor or the sisterhood and all the power and influence that comes with it. But her family loathes her and the sisterhood thinks she’s an abomination. She’s so prideful she decides to reinvent both from the ground up, she thinks she can have it all. Goes through the Agony and decides that the cause of her family is lost, to give up on them and devote herself to the advancement of the sisterhood at any cost. And that seems to be enough for a long while. But once her power is questioned by seemingly the only man who can counter her, she feels herself threatened, crawls back to her family for help. And even though she gave up on them so long ago there’s no way her pride would let her ever leave that scorned family name behind. And we’re only on episode three.

I’ve thought about something but it feels obscure, please tell me if I’m onto something or if I’m on something lmaoo 🙏🏻🙏🏻

In my opinion if Ymbrynes weren’t necessarily all females due to the obscure nature of their peculiar genes, then Peculiardom wouldn’t be a matriarchal society at all.

Like, we all know how much peculiars have remotely backward views on women (the Claywings numbers is an example of that, but just look at the clans and the political organization aside from Ymbrynes and you’ll see that most of the individuals with high positions are men) and that most peculiars are born in the normal world which is very sexist in itself (and they carry on those views into Peculiardom).

I can’t think of an example of a peculiar being openly sexist aside from wights but at times I really felt a weird vibe or just the omnipresence of men and women being depicted as more hysterical/emotional/weak or characters you just kinda forget about.

Plus,,, the Ymbryne’s lives in general. Not being able to choose if you want to marry or be in a relationship, literally your teachings at the academy being how to raise children and maintain a good home (it’s not sexist in itself but the whole thing feels very traditionalists, like those women are expected to be mothers AND politicians at the same time, that’s very hard and time consuming.) Also most of them are (or are taught to be) the living embodiment of good manners and acceptable behavior, they do tend to repress their emotions and be very reminiscent of how women were supposed to act in older times (most of them are from XIXish century time periods so this makes sense, but again their insertion in Peculiardom who is supposedly better than the normals didn’t change anything about the expectations they face).

Also, peculiars are extremely expectant and harsh towards the Ymbrynes. Is this because of their ineffectiveness or because they’re a female government? Maybe this is a reach but idrk.
