I have a question, regarding the Darkwarrior universe.

What happened to Future Launchpad? Did he end up in prison after helping Gosalyn return to her time, or something worse?

I’m going to be honest, I’ve not thought about Darkwarrior’s Launchpad 😅

What do you think happens to him??

I’m impressed by how Drake admitted to himself and Negaduck that the latter was stronger than him and how Prime Drake was the only Drake who couldn’t move on after losing a Gosalyn. And he respects the other Drakes and his Gos for their perseverance when times were hard in “That’s Christmas to Me”.

How has Drake changed and adapted since then after this revelation? 😭😭

This is an amazing question. Let’s see if the answer will do it justice (likely not, but thank you for bearing with me).

This is a big turning point for Drake. Prior to this, he’d begrudgingly accepted Negaduck as someone who was part of the family because of who he was to others (Gosalyn’s Papa Wolf, Max’s mentor, Scrooge’s protege, etc). While he was grateful that he could rely on Negaduck for help when Gosalyn was in trouble, I think he still kept some distance between them. There was simply too much history there. Drake had seen how depraved Negaduck could be and, on a more introspective level, he knew this was a reflection of his own depravity. There were a lot of similarities between them that he didn’t like to think about, so he didn’t.

But then this horrible thing happens and Drake, for the first time, sees Negaduck as his own independent person (well, technically, his own independent mallard, but you get the idea). Drake recognizes that Negaduck’s resilience isn’t a personality trait, but a learned behavior from his past and is a way for him to cope with everything that he’s been through. And Drake respects him deeply for it. Negaduck is no longer Gosalyn’s beloved Papa Wolf, or Max’s mentor or Scrooge’s protege. Negaduck is an entity unto himself. And Drake willingly accepts Negaduck into his life for who he is as a person instead of who he is for other people.

Drake also, I think, begins the journey of coming to terms with the darkness inside himself. He always wrote it off as his “Negaduck” side, but now realizes that his darkness is his own monster, that he also has learned behaviors from his past, and wounds he needs to heal from. In the long term, this helps him reconcile with his inner demons and work on moving forward.

I love everything you said; your different scenarios made me smile and laugh and say “aw!” in all the right places!

I’m not sure I have much to add? I think her family and friends probably freak out over everything more than she does. Except Goofy. He’s been through this before, so he became everyone’s therapist. He’d constantly reassure them, “This is normal,” and “Yes, I promise. It’s normal,” and “No, I’m not lying to you. Everything is fine, and this is all normal.”

As far as weddings, well. I’m personally not a fan of them (#hottake) so I will not be writing any weddings. I’d love to hear what other people have imagined though 👀 @thezoe611 👀

Was Gosalyn's pregnancies with her daughters like?

THAT'S a question I've been asking myself for a long time!!

But, let's see, from an Unstoppable point of view.

The problem with Gosalyn would not be the pregnancy itself, but the fact that she did NOT do hero work during those months. Yes, the redhead is not stupid, she knows that she should take care of herself and refrain from any rough exercise… but she would have a hard time not attending to her duty as a heroine the first few months, to the fright of Max, Timothy, and the rest of the family.

Darkwing would have had to scold his daughter for being so risky. Negaduck would have also scolded her quite a bit, making her more uncomfortable.

Another problem would be Gosalyn's mood swings, which would have Max and Timothy very confused, seeing her crying over such a common thing that would make them both exchange glances. I think it would be very uncomfortable for Negaduck to witness his Baby Girl's mood change, feeling like he was stepping on a minefield because of anything he said.

Even worse were the cravings that the redhead would have. Drake would want her to eat healthy things, clutching his feathers at seeing all the mix of junk food his daughter ate, to which Launchpad tries to calm his friend down. Poor Tim would be in a gas mask every time that happened, because his overly sensitive nose couldn't handle that whole combination of smells. Max would follow the example of his son.

I like to think that Darkwing would decide to take a break from policing the multiverse, and go back to guarding the streets of St Canard to make sure there was no crime that would put the safety of his daughter at risk. But, to his surprise, he wouldn't find many criminals on the streets. Why? Because Negaduck would have THREATENED the criminals to refrain from committing crimes those months, to ensure that his Baby Girl was safe.

Did it mean that all criminals wouldn't do something? No. While most were AFRAID of Negaduck, some, the younger ones, would see the situation as an opportunity, so I fear that some would try to attack Gosalyn, but the young mother would not notice, since she had two Mallard who made sure to keep her protected without her knowing.

But that's just a guess on my part…

Although I would REALLY like to know what this would be like in Geronimo's canon, like Gosalyn and Max's wedding, but those are situations still unknown to us mortals (👀 @rebellingstagnationblog 👀)

So… I don't know if many remember it, but in the last chapters of "Unstoppable", Scrooge invited Negaduck to participate in one of his adventures.

Well, due to time, I don't think I can write a story related to that (especially because of the process of translating everything from Spanish to English, that's why I'M TAKING MY TIME with the fic that I have promised you TvT) Therefore, I decided to make a drawing representing what that adventure could have been like….

Unstoppable based on the Geronimo Saga by @rebellingstagnationblog (although if I'm honest, I would really like to see in Geronimo's canon Negaduck going -although forced-, on an adventure with old McDuck^^')

So……........ I discovered the "ugly Christmas sweater" theme. Would the Geronimo Saga group wear sweaters of that style^^'? Negaduck too? Would Gosalyn give it to him? Or was it a Drake joke? Or was it Scrooge? (if you have reference images, the better^^')

Oh yeah! Ugly Christmas sweaters are big here 😂

I’m sure the Geronimo gang would all dress up in ugly Christmas sweaters one time. Just to say they’d done it. I have no vision of what anyone wears, so it’s dealer’s choice really. But I don’t think it becomes a tradition, even though Launchpad and Goofy have the time of their lives.

I think Negaduck would play the “nobody told me this was happening” card to try to get out of it. But Max had a sweater specially made for him, decidedly not ugly and Good Omens themed. Negaduck not only continues to wear it after the party, but asks every year if they’re ever going to wear ugly Christmas sweaters for the holidays again.

(There were no Good Omens Christmas sweaters when I did a cursory browse on the internet, which I think doesn’t show much foresight.)

Outwardly, Drake is exasperated by Goofy. Kind of a mix of the gentle gibes at Launchpad and his avoidance of the Muddlefoots. But he doesn’t really feel that way; he just has to put on the charade of it all. Keep his reputation intact.

Privately, Drake has a lot of respect for Goofy. Drake raised his hellion daughter from age 9 up and had help in the form of Launchpad. Goofy raised Max from infancy all alone and that’s on top of losing his wife. Goofy also has the ability to center Drake. He’s accepting of anything Drake says, and so gives Drake a soft place to land when he’s going ✨through it✨

And Goofy, well. He thinks the absolute world of Drake. He’s always eager to spend any kind of time with him.

Do Drake and Goofy ever hang out together?

That's a question for @rebellingstagnationblog , the author, not for me ^^' But, in my opinion as a reader, I think they can hang out as friends and family without problems. I mean, they are both Powerline fans, they are single parents, they like to do housework, they adore their children… And if you include the grandchildren, they have A LOT of topics to talk about. And although Goofy is somewhat clumsy, I know that Drake would be patient with Goof's clumsiness… even if there are many in a single day^^'

Goofy… I don’t think he was invited that first year. But the second year, after season two wrecked us all, they asked him to come as the Archangel Gabriel. Now, you can pick any one of Gabriel’s costumes and they’d be great, but I think that Goofy picks this one (and absolutely doesn’t tell anyone that this was his choice until he shows up):

I mean even the sparkly rhinestoned suit underneath the ombré fur/feather coat? With the jabot and bow tie? Good stuff 👌🏻

Halloween is around the corner, and although I wanted to upload this drawing that day, I won't have time for that^^' Based on "Geronimo One Shots", I redrawn the "Good Omens" costumes that Negaduck and the others wore at McDuck's party^^

But…WOA! I admit it, you can see the difference compared to the drawing I made in 2021:

In my defense, learning to draw in the Disney style was VERY COMPLICATED for me. It is not the same as drawing anime like digimon. It's much more complicated than it seems^^'

A little bonus has been to quickly draw Timothy if he had also gone to the party. I don't know much about "Good Omens", but I think the kid would look good in the Adam Young costume^^

Wait, Negaduck lets Gosalyn celebrate his birthday??!!

I was sure that the villain didn't like the idea of celebrating his birthday because it was related to "Drake Mallard", the identity he discarded.

It's nice to read that the villain allows his Baby Girl to celebrate his birthday^^!

Does that mean Negaduck also celebrates the redhead's birthday?

Gosalyn does celebrate her father’s and Negaduck’s birthday and is very careful about spending time with both of them.

Darkwing gets the birthday breakfast (lunch, really, with his sleep schedule) over which Gosalyn and Launchpad give him their gifts. Then they do something he loves. Visit SHUSH and get suit updates, let him mess around with his new tech or gizmo he’d been gifted, sometimes they even go on excursions like to the museum to see an exhibit on superheroes and their history. The evening is always family game night where they eat junk food and play table top games together. Gosalyn even lets Darkwing win. Sometimes.

Negaduck, therefore, gets the mornings. He didn’t even realize what Gosalyn was doing. Not at first. Didn’t second guess when she would linger on the same night every year as the clock went from 11:59 to midnight. Would think it was weird that she always had some sort of sugary pastry or sweet confection at the ready (she loves junk food; it’s not unusual for her to insist on snacks). It was a little weird when she’d give him some small item like improved fabric for his cape, or the keys to an abandoned semi they’d found on the road a few weeks ago, or a new motor for his refrigerator. The gifts were always based in necessity, something she complained that he didn’t have or should get fixed, so it took him years to realize what she was doing. And that’s pretty embarrassing when you think about it, so Negaduck does his best not to think about it.

And their routines don’t change, even as they all get closer as a group. She gives the afternoon and evening to Darkwing where they spend time as a family. And the early morning goes to Negaduck where they both pretend they aren’t celebrating anything at all. They both know that she’s grateful that he’s here and holds the day in a very special place in her heart. And sometimes, when he succumbs to sentimentality, he’s grateful to have had so many years, too.

Gosalyn doesn’t get a ton of sleep on her dad’s birthday, but it’s always worth it.

And of course Negaduck celebrates Gosalyn’s birthday. Very awkwardly. He drops off a present in the dark of night when no one can trace it back to him. And he allows her to eat whatever junk food she wants when they happen to meet up “coincidentally” every year.

I have had a doubt for a long time. I remember in one of your stories, Gosalyn and Max took Drake, Goofy, and Launchpad camping for Father's Day. That made me wonder if, after the events of "That's Christmas to Me", they would decide that they should also invite Negaduck for the next camping trip?

Would Negaduck agree to leave his comfort zone to accept Gosalyn's invitation? I mean, at that time he wouldn't have any problems with the Goofs, and he tolerates Drake (plus he would have the excuse to make fun of him for supposedly being a "true outdoorsman"^^').

As much as Negaduck would revel in putting Darkwing’s True Outdoorsman™️ skills to the test (and sabotaging the whole fiasco) he doesn’t like camping. So I don’t think he’d go even if he was invited.

Gosalyn has gotten so used to celebrating Father’s Day (and Negaduck and Darkwing’s birthday) twice that I don’t think it occurs to her to invite Negaduck along, even as the family sort of adopts Negaduck. She celebrates the day with her father, then goes and celebrates with Negaduck, and that’s that. Never the two shall meet. (Mostly because Negaduck’s preferred Father’s Day is target practice and Darkwing deserves some rest and relaxation, not a heart attack as he watches Negaduck teach Gosalyn how to shoot a bazooka.)

Except at Christmas. That’s an all hands on deck “you’re coming and you’re going to have a good time, yes this is a threat” sort of holiday.

Okay, I’m actually sobbing over here 🥺😭 An illustration for EACH story?? What have I done to deserve such an incredible gift??? They’re all 👏🏻STUNNING👏🏻 Each one looks like an actual comic book cover; they’re so well designed and beautifully drawn and colored.

@thezoe611 I can never thank you enough for this. You’ve made my heart so full. From the time and effort these all took, to your kind words, to your own additions to the Geronimo universe with your own impeccable story, I’m beyond humbled and grateful to know you 💜

(As for my favorite, it’s impossible to pick ONE but I’m obsessed with “That’s Christmas to Me”, “Glitter and Gold”, “Roll Away Your Stone”, “Shake, Rattle, and Roll”, “Tainted Love”… Okay I love them ALL and if you let me keep going I’m just going to list them all!)

Did I just draw a comic cover for every story in the "Geronimo Saga"? Yep, yes I did.

I spent WEEKS working on this project, and I've finally finished it and it's almost close to DW's anniversary (I would have finished it yesterday, but after the earthquake that occurred I didn't have electricity all night. Normal for a Chilean girl^^ ')

As I have already said many times, your story helped me a lot not only to relax, but also when I was under stress. Now I'm back in a bad moment, but as always, your story encourages me, so that's why I wanted to finish this project no matter what. I hope you like it^^
