In April 2020 I moved to a village near Tongeren in the south-east part beautiful Haspengouw. I was tired of being stuck in between the eternal traffic jams of Antwerp and BXL. I was sick of agitated city-people looking for arguments and besides: I wanted to live in a place with rolling hills, endless views and lots of nature. I found it all. Hiking trails start at 100m from my porch and the atmosphere in this tiny (yet ancient city) is very different from the big cities. Even while being a natural born outsider, I feel great down here. And even with my alien accent, total strangers still offered me food. Tongeren has proven to be so much more than the Basilica and the Gallo-Roman museum. Store clerk 12022021 For us Europeans February 12 2021 was a palindrome date. (Just look at the beauty of those numbers, so I just had to make a picture on that day.) And eventhough i´m living in it.. 2021 still sounds like pure scifi to me. Saved by the light of burning churches. (A formidable song by @meandthatman ) It was the soundtrack for making this image.
