imagine moving to a town and the mayor is an extremely well-liked by basically everybody (to the point people are talking about wanting to re-elect him even though he hasn't served for a full year let alone a full term) and you're like "yeah cool okay" but there's also a gigantic skyscraper downtown (oddly shaped and colored, can't miss it in the skyline) that has his last name on it followed by the words "evil, inc." and at first you're like "alright is this some form of political protest then?" but upon looking at it it's clearly a professionally done sign bolted onto the building and it looks like it's been there a while so it's not like it was put up recently by guerilla artists. nobody's mentioned it or moved to take it down so it seems like it's probably there legally. the mayor's last name is super uncommon too so the odds of it being something unrelated to him at all are miniscule. you just kind of shrug it off as an art piece that's trying to make a political statement until one day you randomly find out that it's where the mayor's mad scientist older brother lives. honestly idk how i would even react to that information

The solution to ableism isn't for me to "stop calling myself disabled", it's for everyone to stop treating "disabled" as a bad word

Sometimes I do ship something and it's not unpopular its just that fanon harbors enough popular misconceptions to make the content frequently unreadable. So I will be like "can I have my ship please" and the internet will go "sure! here are a thousand results!" and I will go "is it actually my ship or is it some guys who are basically totally different characters in all meaningful ways that someone is having masquerade as my blorbos?" and the answer is yes often enough that I give up

went to my best friend’s house last night and saw a little plushie dog and plushie cat that had been sewn together down the middle into a two-headed chimera. I said, “did you do that?” she said, “yes, I saved them.”
turns out at her old job when the last two plushies hadn’t sold and became deadstock, her boss told her to cut them up and throw them out. so she cut them each in half, preserved their heads, and then rebuilt them together.
cannot stop thinking about the way these little plushies were approached with the instinct of a Vampire or some sort of ancient god. “Let me save you [turn you into a monster].”

the rhetoric about how israel and iran and the USA are all in the news lately but people are "forgetting" about gaza is so wild to me bc like
A) an impending threat of global war is just as newsworthy as an ongoing war/genocide, and when a lot of updates roll out in a small amount of time about a conflict that involves multiple countries (or a certain entertainer-turned-president wants to game the media to talk up his attempted power move), that's gonna dominate the news in those countries.
B) discussing israel's geopolitics and military in this climate tends to involve, at the very least, some discussion of the west bank. a big part of why the israel-iran war kicked off was because of the actions in gaza. i have seen news media include updates on the war in gaza in their coverage on the israel-iran war, since it's relevant to the military situation in israel in general.
C) there's also a heck of a lot of other wars and genocides around the world, they don't always get news coverage either. nor do the fundraisers related to them circulate on tumblr day after day. why only complain about this issue not getting enough attention? other than to guilt trip people into donating money, it seems.

Just saw a woman talking about contracting AIDS at age 20 in 1990 due to her husband knowingly passing on the virus and the comments were repellently homophobic. Saying bullshit like “This is why DL men are so dangerous.” she hadn’t liked any of those comments and she had clarified that he went on to infect another woman later. She was trying to educate people on her experience as a heterosexual woman with an AIDS diagnosis and the comments still found a way to blame gay people and imply it is the fault of homosexuality. HIV transmission rates are now higher in the heterosexual population than the homosexual population due to education and protection. She thought she was safe because he was her husband but these women think they’re safe because they don’t date ‘DL men’. This is why education on the AIDS crisis, HIV transmission methods and gay history is so important. The stigma has never gone away and it is still detrimental to EVERYONE’S health.

so i wore a pride flag pin to work the other day and the kids were all interested (obviously) (find me a classroom of preschoolers who are not obsessed with rainbows) (i'll wait) so they crowded around to see.
"aww!" they said, "it's a flag!!"
but the thing is: they're little. a lot of them don't really have a handle on all their mouth sounds yet.
such as, notably, that tricky tricky "L" sound.
