Dazai is seen flirting with the waitress in the cafe who in the manga looks to be an older woman

Now I know it may just be for shits and giggles but if you wanna think about it differently here you go

Dazais irl mother was sick I'm pretty sure but she did care about Dazai, and bsd Dazai definitely left home at a young age, so what if he has a type for older women because he wants the comfort he couldn't get from his own mother

I don't ship Kunikida and Dazai but I guess you could apply the same logic here because he refers to Kunikida as 'mommy' at some point.
