I hate mental illness. I hate that my logic can not override a chemical imbalance.

As I was listening to a sad song that made me recall the hurt I went through over a past love, I drove by a school with children playing and running. These small humans were so full of energy and happiness and thoughts ran through my mind of how short lived that feeling is. Youth has a naive and sweet outlook on life. They’ve never had their heart broken, or have gone through the stress and adult does. How lucky they are and they don’t even realize it. A few years from now they’ll wish they were adults. My mom always taught me adult hood was hard because of responsibility. But I wish she taught me its hard because people will forever disappoint and you will have to learn to be happy with yourself instead of expecting that happiness to come from others. Only if your are truly happy with yourself can you actually be happy. And your heart is going to break over and over. And you’ll mourn the loss of friendships and relationships for years to come. And one day you’ll be in your car, heading somewhere completely happy, and a song will come on and you will bawl your eyes out. Because adulthood isn’t just about responsibility. It’s about a fragile heart and mind and an every day struggle with yourself. Adulthood is going to war with yourself every day just to grasp an ounce of energy and happiness. Something that comes so natural to kids.

What’s funny is [that] I’m 37, and when you start playing music, night after night, from decades ago, you start to reflect on who you were when you were younger and the things you wrote music about. A lot of what we write music about is the uncertainty of being young, and trying to figure out who you are in the world, and what it’s going to be like when you grow older, and who it is you’re going to find, right? That’s what all of these songs are about—that’s what this song is about. It’s really hard when you’re young and you’re like, ‘This is never gonna work; I’m never gonna figure this out.’ And then one day you just do. And for me, I did when I got married. My wife helped me through everything. So now, when I play these songs—and she’s six months pregnant, by the way—all I think about is, ‘I’m so glad I don’t have to feel this way anymore.’ It’s a really great feeling. I never have to worry about finding someone to date ever again in my entire life. So here is to all of you finding that person in your life, and never having to worry about your life being an analogy for dying in a shipwreck, like this song is.

I'm actually reposting this because this really pisses me off. Jesse is being the typical douche who forgets all of his friends when he's in love.

So my friend asked for prayers on Facebook while her father was in surgery. She later posted how the devil was trying to pull them in and make them feel hopeless. And finally posted that he's recovering well and she thanked everyone for their prayers. I'm the ass hole atheist who didn't even send out a positive vibe because I felt so damn excluded. All I have to say is fuck Jesus and thank you doctors and science for taking care of my friends dad.

at 17 or even 32, nobody is worth stressing over, like move on, leave people behind, go find yourself, the world is yours, life goes on.

The most difficult thing is to leave a life of comfort. Happiness > comfort.
