I've been debating whether or not to post this because well... it's my first time properly running out of time when working on one of the speedpaints. I'm not even sure how it happened honestly, everything was fine in the first 10 minutes, but somewhere along the way I looked at the clock and realized I had barely any time left. 30 minute environment study #7

Inktober day 7 - Drip Not feeling very talkative, so I don't have much to say about this one. Was mostly experimenting with composition and lineweight.

Once again ran out of time with this study, but really happy with the cloud on the right. Rest of it is kinda eh but that's fine. 30 minutes is 30 minutes, and I also knew I was taking a risk with this photo reference as it does have a lot of different elements. 30 minute environment speedpaint #4

I think I've figured out the cropping now. Day 4 of Inktober, the prompt is 'Dodge' and my only other idea for today was drawing a vehicle. I have been dealing with a headache off and on for the entire day, so I decided to do a little Legend of Zelda inspired piece, keeping things very loose and simple due to aforementioned headache.

Day 3 of doing 30 minute environment studies/speedpaints. I'm feeling very pleased with the amount of improvement in just 3 days, as not only am I learning more about how to paint environments, I'm also finding ways to improve my artistic process in general.

Once again, tumblr gives me a weird crop. Quite a simple piece for today's inktober prompt. While I did originally have something more detailed in mind, I had an emotionally tumultuous day and needed to do something more rhythmic and meditative, so this was born of it.

Another day, another 30 minute speedpaint / environment study to practice my skills and warm up for other art. Original photo in the corner captured by Paul Yates. Started with a sketch this time, which I think was a good idea. Ran out of time before finishing this study though, so I still need to work on being more efficient.

The crop was weird but oh well. Decided to draw Karniss for inktober day 2, for the theme of "spider". Overall I'm a lot happier with how my day 2 illustration turned out in comparison to my day 1, my hands were a lot more steady today and I also let myself sketch out a bit in pencil first before going in with pen, which I think helped a lot. I also had fun adding texture. I messed up in the face though. Tried to do a bit of Rembrandt lighting, but it didn't turn out that great. You win some, you lose some.
