It's been a while.
In a few months time my long-term survival world will be 15 years old.
After many fixes*, the very top roof of the cathedral was put on and I now only have 1 side roof to add copper slabs to (Almost done.) Inside I have pews and am working on faux marble floors for the sides. I also redocorated former storage, added a portal in my enchantment room that comes out in the bastion and direct ice route to a generic ocean xp grinder to fill up the empty shelves of the enhantment library extension.
I also added more window details to the existing office building and disconnected the ice boat link from the 16x16 chunk park about it. This was to extend the ice track by half a metre, make new stairs up (Arch fixed since) for a new subway entrance at town hall square.

Took a month off after December 15th from the cathedral and this was the last progress shot. Have been doing other small things like changing the 2018 wool head of my skin and moving the last remants from old storage to new storage. work will now resume on said cathedral.

The first image is from a creative world, but when I started the survival version i started at the front, the left side being the original version.
As you can see I extensivley redesigned the right side as I had more of a work flow by then and knew more what I was doing. Right picture is the survival version.
It didn't stop there though, countless rebuilds of the big bay windows along the side, and more adjustments at the front. Five window slots on one side behind the front peak four on the other, when this was done I adjusted the peak, arch ring below it and the 3 entrance arches all had to be adjusted and re-centred.
Changes made to entrance doors.
This weekend I have built the end right side corner and built up all along that side, but with still some addiitions to be made yet. Now I can build up the very back wall.

For the last two to three weeks on/off I've been building a church (Ok more like a cathedral) on my creative world copy but have now begun the same build on the actual survival world.

Image dump,. what I've been up to latetly.
After years of emptiness I converted the upstairs of the fishing shop into a private apartment. Started rebuilding my old 2010 bridge with ideas to develop the original, all for a link way to a proposed future stadium. I also built a small castle rail stop extension.
I began improving the slit windows and texturizing the fortifications neighbouring the castle, and had to re-make all my maps but enhanced them all with glow item frames whilst I did it. I also improved the lighting at the observatory, fixed a burnt out tree line at the bell tower and finally after a year installed the bubble coulmn elevators & addtional lighting.
Lastly in the last day I made a new flower forest farm with portal link and started freshening up the Chunk Plaza Boulevard boardwalk with planters and more hanging baskets. I also made the lighting of the hotel at night more dynamic.

Update on the sea fort @ the guardian farm and former sea monument.
I started adding more prismarine ceiling beams, eventually making the straight line ones dip down. This then gave me the idea to try and make the diagonal ones also dip down but make them more like arches, despite not being good at diagonals.
All four are in now and 3/4 of the mid level has brickwork. Have started putting a "base ceiling" in for now until I full decide what to do with the middle aections, perhaps a pattern. Have also been designing pillars on my COPY of the world to come down from the ceiling to the top floor, which will all be blue glass.

just over two weeks ago, I made a big change on the main home front that hasn't changed in 4 - 5 years. It was time to say goodbye to my old favourtite combination of spruce roofs with dark oak trim.
It started with making the old wooden kennel entrance into a more permant structure after over 10 years+ but changed into a major refit of all the roofs front and back. Since the last 5 years there have been so many new blocks, woods and new different combinations you can make. Partly inspired by the town hall mangrove roof.
Although I never intended to demolish the wooden observation deck half way up the front, the new roofs would NOT have gone with the old oak structure. So it was time for a change with a new and improved build with a more 180 panoramic view.

I started this guardian farm base before I started using the Alacrity resource pack, so major changes had to happen. Namely removing all the bone blocks and reconfiguring the farm itself. So far this year - and we're only 4 months into 2024, this has been the biggest push on this place in a few years.

A fuller expansion of what I posted for 9 years (From total start), as it has been 10 YEARS + 1 MONTH since I first expanded into the sides of the chunk wall either side in November 2013!
ALOT had changed. Expansions upwards, making parts rounder instead of flat like the chunk wall, Monorails being added nearby outside, Changing the flat glass bedroom roof in 2021 to a dome and now, expanding the kitchen roof upward! Walls in kitchen are still a bit bare from being taller, but it's not quite finished yet.

This last week has seen the start of clearing land, or rather a hill for a brand new inspired idea. On this former hill will be a new sea search and rescue centre, inspired after crafting my firt raft out of curiosity. Multiple locations were chosen, but I settled here, a stone's throw from the twon hall and main rail line and of course the Chunk Plaza Boulevard.

Found a file in my back up named World2 - COPY, it could be years old or just a few years old. Turns out it was just a couple of years ago. Here's the changes in that time though.

The latest edition to where I spawned in BETA, from alpha beginnings. Still got some texturizing to do, the bell to add, but the core is there.
