Hello, Readers.

When the idea to do Rhink Library was formed, it was intended to be a project to help share our excitement that we have around this crazy world of fanfiction that we have within our fandom.

We’ve been gratified and overwhelmed by the support that we’ve been given throughout the process. And, along the way, we’ve acknowledged criticisms and concerns about fairness, gatekeeping and favoritism. We tried to maintain objectivity in the lists by representing years, suggesting one fic each and, as we always have, encouraged everyone to submit their own recommendations. Curating lists and making sure fair representation is challenging to do for any person or persons, as the Rhink fanfiction universe is varied and scattered across AO3, Tumblr and more; fics that fall under a category or tag that aren’t tagged happen more often than you might think. Through this, we’ve tried our best.

But criticisms have persisted even after establishing guidelines and trying to be as varied as possible with our recommendations. And we just find ourselves frustrated, especially since the three of us try to be as supportive as we can to all.

From this point forward, we will no longer be doing curated lists. We won’t be giving personal recommendations. If you have a fic you’d like to recommend, please submit it to us. If you have a fic you’d like us to find, please ask us. We’re still committed to helping you find that fic you remember reading, but can’t remember the title. Again, at the end of the day, this project only works with community involvement. And if it stops working, it stops working.

To the folks who have sent us asks for recs or lists, two have been in the works and we will publish the others and ask the community to share their recs.
