Pokud mlátíš lidi pomlázkou/vytahuješ je z postelí polonahý jako vtípek/házíš je do řeky(???)/jakkoliv jinak je v bujarém chlumu či osaměle fyzicky napadáš bez jejich explicitního svolení a nadšení pro krásu tradice, seš absolutní trapnej spirituálně zdevastovanej kretén s řídnoucíma neurotransmiterama a nezasloužíš si kyslík, natož výslužku. ♥

Pokud jsi osoba, kterou někdo v rámci vaječný tradice fyzicky napadá bez tvýho explicitního svolení, je v pohodě je v sebeobraně kopnout do rozkroku, poškrábat jim ksicht a zavražděně vřískat tak moc, že sousedi zavolaj fízly (aby to pro dotyčné bylo extra trapný). ♥♥

Small binding of a story my classmate wrote (kinda a fantasy fanfiction of our bookbinding class).

Decided to try something new. The binding is like 3 saddle stitch booklets put together with extra soft cover.

It was my first time using new scalpel for the cutouts of outer covers. Its not perfect, but I am pretty happy considering it was my first try.

Pages are sewed through the red paper in 3 signatures. On the back side are 2 stripes of double sided tape which holds black cover in place.

Materials used:

signatures - standard office printer paper

covers - black and red papers of higher weight (dont remember exactly, black maybe around 300g/m3 and red around 200g/m3)

double sided tape

A little book repair and a box for first edition of czech tranlastion of Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse (published in 1931).

The book has been rebound before and held together pretty well. So I just replaced spine of covers (the old one was in terrible shape), added endbands and reinforced the spine of text block. Also because of removal of covers during process I had to replace endpapers. The paper used on covers in original rebinding was torn at some places, so I just glued it back to place and left it as it is becasue I think old books should look old. I only did what I deemed necessary to make the book last another few decades. Because of that I created box with round upper and lower front edges to keep it safe.

A scrapbook I made for a friend. Didn't end up exactly as planned but I am still pretty happy with the result.

The book is made to be opened all the way to the spine so I bent pages 2 cm away from left side, glued them together by the bent part and sewed through them for increased durability and aesthetics.

The bending also makes the spine bigger than the block of pages itself. This way you can glue in photos etc. without bloating the whole book

Front and back covers are made from 2 pieces of cardboard. Smaller one in width of 2 cm glued at the spine and second bigger one 1 cm apart from the smaller one. The covers are also sewn through together with frist pages in the gap between boards to hold better.

I have cut all the pages by hand which I will never do again (its almost impossible to cut pages this big to be perfectly rectangular). The block was trimmed by hand as well which was a tedious task due to its thickness. This resulted in some unwanted curves on sides of the block. Next time, I will rather leave the sides uneven.

Materials used:

Pages - carton of lower weight (dont remember exactly)

Covers - 2mm cardboards, black cloth reinforced by starch glue and thin washi paper, bronze 120 g/m3 paper (the paper is a bit metalic but it doesnt show well on photos)

Brown "blacksmiths" thread (durable celulose based thread usualy used for leather)
