Silver Soldering Secret:
It's all about the tubes. My ability to solder hundreds of pieces together without something moving or becoming unsoldered has to do with the fact that I use a lot of tubing in my work.

Materials Central To My Creative Life: Ornamental Turning
My latest CNC machining work is being inspired by ornamental turning, a method of forming and embellishing vessels using an ornamental turning lathe. Historically made of ivory, this technology was widely practiced in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. This art is still being practiced using wood.

Brent Kington
Brent Kington inspired me artistically because his toys of the mid-nineteen sixties gave validation to concept of “baroque” as a method of modern expression.

Note to the future scholar trying to figure out why my "RM" marks are not all made from the same tool:
In grad school, I was given a dozen Rs and Ms in hardened steel type. When I mark my work, I hold one of each with a pair of pliers and strike a mark into the piece. Even though the letters were manufactured and are essentially the same, this method may cause microscopic variations. You're welcome.
